Went there for the first time with grandsons aged 7, 10 and 13. We enjoyed the day but thought there were not many rides suitable for the oldest grandson. The youngest one enjoyed it most.

Really good for younger kids, think our 9 year was just about as old as for it to be exciting.
Got to look around castle, did not visit theme park not there long enough,it looks and sounds fantastic, all staff polite and helpful too
Great day out for the little ones. Cafe does lovely meals and the price is very affordable for a family day out.
Great fpr young kids, lots of interesting things to discover for all ages. Make sure you take plenty of change for all of the old machines!
Great place for children, keeps them entertained all day. A lot crammed into castle at the start.
This place is awesome!! The whole family loved it. Some really quirky interesting things to see such as old arcade machines, lots of rides for the kids and great Gardens. Food is good quality and not expensive like other parks
My wife and I stayed in the Castle. Although the accommodation wasn't quite what we had anticipated the gardens and attractions were fantastic. Our grandchildren would have loved it!
Went to visit the Castle..disappointed that it is now a Theme park and expensive to get in
Fantastic day out, even for 1yo and 2yo children. Only criticism would be that many of the funky Victorian machines want 10p or 2p to use... ...there are change machines but no ATMs nor cashback anywhere in the park. Go with lots of change! Fab day though with a surprising amount to see and do. Especially for younger children.
This place unfortunately didn't inspire me at all. We went as on paper and looking at a promo leaflet it looked as it had a lot to offer, sadly that wasn't the case. I took my Mum with me as well as my 2 kids and she couldn't get around most of it as it was far too steep for her. It's very old fashioned, which perhaps is it's charm? The gnome houses were just plain creepy when you looked inside and I half expected my boys to have nightmares!!! A lot of money to get in and the additional stuff to pay for, the balloon throwing, gold panning. At least crazy golf was good and you got your money back.
I don't think I'd go back again I'm said to say.
Idea for younger children.. Granddaughter 2 1/2 loved it,..lots of quirky things for adults too..clean and well presented grounds...reasonably priced food ...team very helpful.
Watermouth Castle is an absolutely amazing day out for all ages would recommend if you have not been you don't know what your missing.
Really good, nice day out for the kids, lots of parking, bring your own lunch with you and save a packet !!
Great for young kids, best for children under 10. Grounds are just stunning and so well looked after. Very steep hills so a struggle if less able-bodied
This place is both magical and a little eccentric. With lots of classic animatronic displays, fountains and older slot machines and games. Don't forget to bring a pocket of loose change for the machines and encourage any little kids to press buttons and explore. Great for under 10's, even if some of the displays are dated, they're still fun and well maintained. Quite a lot of walking and some of the hills are a bit steep, but it's worth the walk to the top for the tobogganing and lazy river rides. Friendly staff are all helpful.
Fantastic place for young and old. We've been going there for well over 20 years. Highly recommended 5*****
*** extremely hilly *** we are a fit family but we were struggling by the end of the day. It is a lovely setting but be prepared to up a hill of varying steepness to any of the rides.
There was a feel of this place being a muesum/theme park. Which is okay and there are some interedting pieces about. It is quite rigid in terms of its paths to get through the first part of the park (castle based).
The rides were okay and it seemed the further you get into the park the slightly newer they became. The tabagon run was a particular favourite.
All in all though everything was fairly dated so don't be expecting an ultra modern amusement park.
The park was fairly organised with ride attendsnts being split between two or three rides at a time, meaning a short wait at times but nothing too excessive.
All in all an okay day out but I personally wouldn't be prepared to pay the asking price again unless it was updated quite considerably.
Nice gift shop and nice food, however the attractions its self is a little disturbing for kids. Rides are hard to get to and not worth the walking up and down steep hills.
Lovely day out with the grandchildren, rides for all ages, and interesting things to look at. It's set in a valley so has hills to climb.
Fantastic for all the family loved the tuppence games and toboggan. Food is a bit pricey.
Excellent day out for the kids. Great value too as you'll stay all day. Bring loads of 10p and 2ps plus a few pound coins for the extra bits, plus a towel on a hot day as the little ones will get wet in the water garden!
Very expensive! Other than that a good day out for young kids although there aren't really that many things to do.
Fantastic day out! Best value theme park in this area. Enjoyed by the whole family - including hard-to-please teens!
A beautiful day out. This is my kids favourite place to visit, with good reason.
The castle was small and we couldn't get in. Otherwise there was a family inn attached which was uninspiring.
A fabulous fun family day out. Lots for the children to do and enough to keep the adults entertained. The views and the scenery are a delight. Getting in took too long and the restaurant wait for food was 40 minutes. The staff everywhere were helpful and enthusiastic. We would go again.
Had a fun family day out at the Castle. Our 8 year old loved the rides and all the things to look at in the grounds.
A hidden gem near Ilfracombe. Easy to find with lots of parking. We had no idea what to expect and found the whole place to be full of surprises and nostalgic charm. If you are looking for a shiny new theme park with fast rides and lots of adrenaline this isn't for you! However this place is great to just walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery and views. There are gentle rides adults can go on and plenty of unexpected and fun surprises as you go around. If you plan to visit make sure you take lots of 2ps and 10ps for all the old arcade machines dotted all over the place. We missed out because we didn't have any change. Great onsite cafe with lovely jacket potatoes and some GF options. If you took a picnic there is loads of places to sit. Well worth a visit.
It's the best for little kids, beautiful surroundings safe and fun, lovely homemade food and they even make their own icecream and lollies
Excellent, was not expecting much but lots to entertain on a brilliantly maintained hillside garden with amazing views over the sea
Great place for younger families and older generation lovely location
Ok - more for little children and the house part is dated needs to either relate or have one set theme
Lovely little family place. The kids loved it ages 3,5,6 and 9. Lots of charm
Its not just a Castle, its all done as a theme park for the young kids as well, its really good for them 10 out 10 brilliant
This is a great day out . beautifully kept gardens and rides and attractions are excellent
Great return price with family passport but the food service is awful and I don't think I have ever seen ice cream as expensive anywhere else in North Devon.
The castle is good to look around full of super things but as all 3 off us are disabled in one way or another we could not use the steps or big ramp up to the gardens and rides but we enjoyed what we could it's a nice place with nice staff but we walked out of the cafe as they did not have what was on the menu so we left most of it is junk food will not be going again
Love this place, spend a whole day there with lots to do
Lovely place beautiful gardens and lots for small kids to do
Good day out, unusual collections and plenty to do. Kids loved it.
Absolutely brilliant little theme park - reminded me a lot of Black Gang Chine on the Isle of Wight. Loads packed in especially for younger kids - really good for feeding their imaginations. Lovely grounds and really clean and tidy. A lot of people took picnics but food looked ok and lots of places to sit out and eat. Inside the castle there are some really good displays and all around the park are vintage slot machines (2p and 10p) - was great that they happily let the old machines be played and not locked away behind glass.
Really good day out - lots to do and good value, especially if you go back at the discounted rate.
Great place to take the kids not to expensive either
Perfect to go with the family. My kids, 4 and 7, have enjoyed it a lot. Perfect day
The harbour and 'teapot' cafe which actually is a converted boat on the harbour wall is great.
Looks can be deceptive...looks a bit weird on the inside, but some quirky exhibits catch the eye. I imagine it's due to the age of some of them, but the kids seemed to like it and weren't put off. The rides catered for kids from 4 up to teenage, whilst it's not on par of some of the well known parks, the rides and play areas were spot on. Could do with some more catering area's and perhaps some more toilets but on the whole it was a great day out. Really good value for money. Terrific views and friendly staff made the day worthwhile. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a few hours, but get there early for parking.
Really fun day out, castle can be very weird and creepy but that's part of the fun !! Really well looked after gardens !! Beautiful views, it's not a theme park as you think but really worth a visit !!!
Really good for children. Lots for them to do. Adults are there to handle pushchairs and pay for the ice cream! Food is a bit expensive and not very good quality. Better to take a picnic.
An absolute Gem, I have loved this place since I was a kid, took my daughter and girlfriend in 2019 and they loved it too.
A beautiful castle amongst stunning scenery. I visited watermouth with my uni on a field trip and was delighted. Both the castle and our accommodation were exceptional. I would love to revisit in the summer again and enjoy the joys of Devon in the sunshine.
Always a fun family day out, but avoid the dungeons if you've got under 5s with you and don't want nightmares!
Very very weird but strangely traditional theme park, OK for younger children but a few of our group 8-12 year olds found it a tad boring.
Set in mature gardens if you just want a nice stroll and you might bump into a Gnome or two.
Fantastic day out for the family. A good mix of nostalgia and fun. All age ranges are catered for, we had an amazing day. Looking forward to going back next year as a day wasn't long enough to fit everything in.
Loved it!!!! So did the girls and my hubby xxx great value for money. Definitely good for under 10 year olds. Don't overly expect as this isn't Thorpe park or Chessington zoo. It's simple and quirky.
A super place for nostalgic fun. Step back in time for the penny arcade, Victorian artefacts and coloured water fountain display to music. My grandson loved the rides, as do the adults and we especially loved the hound dog show. With moving life size models singing. We've been back time and time again, not much changes, but thrilling everytime.
Only pasted by but looks lovely fro m the outside. Would have visited if there had been a reduce entry fee to see just the castle and gardens.
Enjoyed the day, es epically as adults, though a little dated, and not much to do for children under 92cm high.
We had a great day! Lots to see and do. We went without the children and still had a wonderful day! We'd recommend to anyone. Only issue is that there is no mobile reception (I'm on vodafone). Although in the tea room there is free WiFi.
It's a good day out for a family but looking a bit tired and worn, some of the exhibits were not working
Very old fashioned place but that adds to the thrill of it with lots to see and lots to do it's a fun day out for the whole family although I was disappointed that the toboggan wasn't open due to the rain and wasnt very long once open still an amazing place
Not what we expected but definitely a novel place.
If you like old mechanical arcades and attractions then it's definitely worth a visit. There's also a large theme park with rides for kids as well as gnomeland which is... Interesting if not a little sinister in places.
Lovely place grandkids absolutely loved it here, and food was lovely too
So Watermouth theme park and castle? Me and my boyfriend visited and granted we knew that the theme park would be for children and we weren t bothered by this but expected to be able to actually have a walk around the castle. You get to More
We stayed in the castle for a week in April 2018, my 2 little girls loved it! Well looked after grounds, good size swimming pool and the apartment we stayed in was lovely too. The place got lots of character!
