Unfortunately, the building was not open, but we were able to watch a high school choir rehearsing in the courtyard. We were able to see some of the stones that fell or were cracked and taken out. They were lying on the ground beside the building. There is a nice garden behind the Cathedral where they were taking pictures of the wedding party.

Always a great place to visit. So beautiful and meaningful. Steeped in US History. Art Installation called "Les Colombes" was so beautiful.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and allowed me to explore every little detail on the main floor. The service that was held in the "basement" was pleasant and the lady who sang the hymns was wonderful. I learned so many fun facts and was so impressed by the craftsmanship. I cant wait to come back when the tours of the upper levels are open.... also you can't go wrong with cat decor and Darth Vader gargoyles!
The Cathedral is a beautiful place near and dear to my family s heart. We love each visit both inside and around the grounds. A must-see for locals and visitors alike.

This was my second time visiting Washington National Cathedral. I was very excited to explore the building once again but sadly due to Covid-19 it is closed to the public. I spoke to one of the staff members and they were hoping to open to the public again in September 2021 but I highly recommend calling before visiting to make sure they are open. You can freely explore the perimeter of the building but if they are closed to the price all of the doors will be locked makes sure to visit when they open again! BTW, see if you can find the Darth Vader grotesque. I have circled where to find him on one photo.
Truly magnificent Cathedral. By far one of the most unique buildings in all of America! Please note the Star Wars stain glass window. There are unique ah ha moments almost at every turn. This is a must see. It will please your soul.

If you're looking for peace in your life and mind just visit there and sit down outside and close your eyes for few minutes and you will feel God blessing and his vibration.
Stunningly beautiful inside & out. Service was fantastic & thought provoking. The stained glass windows are a master class in color theory! I have never seen such vivid colors in church windows before. The architecture is incredible and I love the gargoyles! Especially Mr. Vader!
