We were referred to Dr Fierson by my daughter's pediatrician. Been going there since 2012, we endured the long drive and the extremely long wait time. Any parent will move mountains for their kid. The last time we were there was last February and our daughter noticed the new glasses were making her dizzy. We had the new glasses checked at two optical shops and they were made right based on the new prescription. Then we compared the new prescription to the previous one and the jump in cylinders is astronomical, we have a gut feeling this is a mistake and instead of writing +0.25, the doctor wrote +1.25. We contacted their office and they told us they will look into it and call us back. I went to their office and talked to an Asian Lady who must be the office manager, she smugly said that because we bought the glasses elsewhere, it must be the glasses. When I point out the big jump in cylinder values, she condescendingly pointed out that that's because kids grow and eyesight gets worse. The lady at their own optical shop checked the glasses and confirmed they were properly made.

The staff there would not dare ask Dr Fierson about the prescription, they walk on eggshells over there treating this doctor like he's infallible. Reminds me of one incident when during the course of an examination, Dr Fierson just left the room without explanation, during this time the nurses were asking us what we did or what we said to him, but we didn't say anything to him. We told the staff there to call him on his celfone and find out where he went. For some reason, they wouldn't dare call him. After 30 minutes, he came back and continue the examination like nothing happened. He offered no explanation. For all we know, he might just went out to take a dump, or remember that he needs to make a phone call, or who the hell knows. But he wasted our time without so much as an apology.

This wrong prescription incident pushed us to look for another pediatric ophthalmologist, we went on Yelp and chose a doctor with amazing reviews. We don't have to wait for hours and the good doctor was very accommodating and courteous. He checked and sure enough the prescription from Dr Fierson is wrong. Right now we are weighing our legal options.

If you are a parent, you are doing a big disservice to your kid by bringing him/her to see Dr Fierson. Let Yelp be your guide and go search for 'pediatric ophthalmologist'.

I never take the time to write a review so when I do I feel it s a experience that I wouldn t want anyone else to have to deal with . I was referred to the Doctor threw our primary it was a pain in booking a reasonable appointment since all new patients must have a 8am appointment n FYI they don t transfer there phone off there answering machine till 9am
Per Tracey ....
I called the day before to cancel my 2 sons appointment & left a message providing my cancellation request . Which according to them the day before 3pm is a requirement to not get charged the 75$ per patient fee . Which I had 2 boys needing medical assistance .
So I still get charged & in some form extorted by these mid level medical crooks saying that No I called the day of the appointment even though I did the day before & claim they have records that they refuse & cant provide me with . So now I must obtain my personal phone records to fight this 150$ ! Charge for no services rendered ... as I tired to sort this out over the phone while @ work they kept me on hold only to hang up on my 3 separate times & threatened to send me to collections & saying things like Well If You Pay Today I Can Give You A Discount of $40 each patient LOL
After realizing I wasn t going away even though they kept hanging up on me . They decided to answer & say we are busy & will have someone call you back . I responded well who will call me ? @ 1st it was Carmen or Caroline & when I asked what were there job titles Tracey realized she gave me names to hold accountable for my problem then she said nevermind maybe because they were there saying no don t say me ... because even though they were in the wrong for charging me a fee they refused to admit n make adjustments to make this RIGHT ... I think its really sad that in this day & age that there s no other way to protect ones self from this type of extortion other than record our phone conversation or email our screen shoot of phone calls to prevent this type of problem & experience ... we all have choices to do what s right & what s just & this Review is for education purposes I hope that we all can grow from this . Be Safe,Sound,& Blessed I will do a follow up post about the out come in the near future in regards to them calling me back & me providing them with proof I called the day before wayyyyyy before 3pm .

With every doctors office there will be things you like and dislike, but my review is on the doctor himself since that is the whole purpose of this place. Dr. Fierson is the best eye doctor for children. We drive 2 hours (4 hours round trip) to see him. My son, who is 3, is a firecracker and regardless of my sons kicking and screaming the doctor still manages to obtain the correct diagnosis with only a small window. He knows the eyes. If you are in need of a genuine expert in the area of the eyes Dr. Fierson is the one to see. Visit time can range from 45 minutes to almost 2 hours(my longest visit). Recently with quarantine it has been shorter wait time. If you are concerned with wait time get the first appointment of the day or the first one after their lunch break. If you are military you can get a referral here through your PCM. Have them look him up by name and address. His level of knowledge and experience is hard to find these days. Your kids eyes are in good hands here.

Recently I had my yearly exam with Dr. Fierson. I discovered his practice when my grandson had successful tear duct surgery 30 years ago. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful doctor and am so confident with his knowledge and expertise in taking care of all my eye problems. Dr. Fierson's lovely wife, Dr. Caroline, and his staff are so caring and helpful. The office is always full of many young children needing his expertise. They have come to the right place. Thank you, Dr. Fierson.
