Great community organization. Friendly staff, clean and welcoming facility. Offers wonderful and comprehensive services to individuals with varying abilities.
Things are going very well. My son loves his day program and is very grateful to have it when many other individuals we know locally didn t have a program to go to until very recently. He has a wonderful staff and an excellent Covid protocol. He loves his residence and can t wait to go back on Sunday. They have an excellent Covid protocol at the residence too. These are challenging times but he seems perfectly happy.
Older guy that directs traffic very rude how he treats people and causes traffic issues always
Walnut Street Center, Inc. is a nonprofit human service agency that has been providing support and services to adults with developmental disabilities for over 40 years. The organization is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities live engaged lives by providing them with the necessary resources and support they need to thrive.
The Walnut Street Center was founded in 1972 by a group of parents who were concerned about the lack of services available for their children with developmental disabilities. Since then, the organization has grown significantly and now serves over 200 individuals each year.
One of the key goals of Walnut Street Center is to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to live as independently as possible. To achieve this goal, the organization offers a range of programs and services that are tailored to meet each individual's unique needs.
One such program is residential services, which provides safe and comfortable housing options for individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. The Walnut Street Center operates several group homes throughout Massachusetts where residents receive round-the-clock care from trained staff members.
In addition to residential services, Walnut Street Center also offers day habilitation programs that provide opportunities for socialization, skill-building, and community integration. These programs are designed to help individuals develop new skills while also fostering independence and self-confidence.
Another important aspect of Walnut Street Center's mission is employment support. The organization works closely with local businesses to create job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Through job coaching and other forms of support, employees are able to gain valuable work experience while also earning a paycheck.
Overall, Walnut Street Center is committed to improving the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by providing them with access to high-quality services and resources that promote independence, inclusion, and engagement in their communities. With its long history of success in this field, it's no wonder why so many families turn to this nonprofit agency when seeking support for their loved ones.
