I cannot thank the fine folks at Wall Street Servi...

I cannot thank the fine folks at Wall Street Services enough for helping place me in a quality firm here in New York City. I recently moved from Charlotte, North Carolina to New York City with my wife because she had accepted a job in the city. I however, had no contacts or job prospects on the horizon. Thankfully, I came across Wall Street Services rather quickly in my job search. I went to their offices downtown, filled out some paperwork, took a battery of tests (proficiency in Excel, basic language and math skills) and had a quick interview to discuss what I was looking for. The Wall Street Services Team had several interviews lined up almost immediately for me. After successfully interviewing, I received two offers. I was then able to choose the position that best suited me and I have not looked back since! I cannot recommend Wall Street Services enough to anyone looking for a job in the Financial Industry here in New York City. They really are fantastic and they provide an awesome service.

Thus far I have had a great experience working with Wall Street Services. They placed me in a great job with Goldman and have been extremely supportive with everything. Even in the midst of hurricane Sandy, they were available to take my calls and answered emails quickly. The staff is always friendly and very reliable. They seem to have good contacts within the finance world giving them many opportunities to place candidates.

For a staffing firm, extremely rude on the phone. Many individuals apply to a staffing firm to see if there are possibilities. I was treated very rudely. As a past executive recruiter and HR professional, I would tend to refer individuals to another firm. This is only an indication of how they will treat you if employed by them.

Wall Street Services has been invaluable in getting me placed at a prestigious financial services firm in NYC. Having utilized different staffing firms in the past, I can honestly say that my experiences with WSS have been very different from those of other firms. Not only do they have great contacts in the industry, but they work very hard to get you interviews and placed in some very coveted positions on Wall Street and the like. Communication with a member of their team is not only very personalized, but very easy as well --- as the turn-around time with any questions or concerns is usually within the same day, if not within several hours. If I could do the job search process over again, I would skip the 'bigger' staffing firms -- many of which treat you like a number in their database and try out Wall Street Services. Peter and the entire team there will not disappoint.

Having met so many recruiting agencies in New York...

Having met so many recruiting agencies in New York City, I am confident in saying that Wall Street Services is one of the best. They not only contacted me for a contractual position in a top financial services company, merely two weeks after they interviewed me, they also were extremely helpful in the interview practice, which helped me secure that position. My contact at WSS, Sara, stayed in touch with me even after I started my job, offering me guidance on how to improve my performance at work, on a constant basis. Five months after the consultant job, I was able to land a permanent position within that company, thanks to Sara! I would recommend Sara and WSS to anyone who is in search of a job, like I have done many times before.

In my experience, WSS have been the best staffing firm that I have worked with. Typical staffing agencies that I have worked with in the past would only contact me once or twice to submit my resume for a position, and I would never hear back from them again. When I worked with WSS, the team reached out to me every single week and submitted my resume for relevant positions twice or three times a week. To prep me for my interviews, the team would go over what to talk about, what to avoid, and how to instill confidence in myself. In addition, WSS prides themselves in having a very selective pool of candidates while having an above average placement rate compared to the rest of the staffing industry. With a great team to work with, while having a great track record in job placement, you can be confident that WSS will go above and beyond to help you get the job offers you desire.

I usually never write any reviews but Wall Street ...

I usually never write any reviews but Wall Street Services is an exceptional consulting firm that deserves the praise. I've worked contract positions before and had the pleasure of working 2 different contracts over 2 years with WSS. I've listed some pros & cons:
Pros:
- Connections to top investment banks and Wall Street firms in NYC. You ll have the opportunity to interview with some of the top leading firms in the industry.

- Exceptional, reliable staff. Response time is very quick (within a few hours) and they really care about your success and placing you in the right role
- Great interview preparation and coaching WSS will help you prepare with mock interviews/tips/advice (I was lacking in this but they really saved me here!)
- Will proactively reach out to you to ensure you are doing well and offer guidance (my last consulting agency was not helpful or supportive once I had the position. It would take days for them to return my phone call where before I was getting a call every hour when I was looking for a position).
- Exceeded my expectations for a temp/consulting agency
Cons:
- Have to take a basic reading/writing/math test which can be annoying

My only regret is not knowing about them sooner. I would definitely recommend WSS to anyone in finance. Oh, and they also helped me land a permanent position in my 2nd contract :)

Wall Street Services exceeded any expectations you can have of a head hunter/consulting firm. As described in their website they called me to perform a phone interview. After that the phone interview I went to their offices to take their tests. After completing them I was quickly told that I passed and went ahead for a more formal interview where they took the time to know me better and understand my interests.

I had the opportunity to interview with a couple of investment banks and landed a consulting position which turned into a full time position with the bank.

I would highly recommend Wall Street Services for any one either starting in the finance field or looking to move in the industry.

I have worked with many recruiting agencies focused on the financial services industry and Wall Street Services has clearly been the best. WSS tests job market candidates prior to working with them in order to evaluate their adaptability, work ethic, and hard skill set. This makes it easy for them to match you with opportunities they come across.
WSS has been the only agency that I know to prep you face-to-face for an interview, helping to improve responses to behavioral and skills based questions. The staff at WSS also continuously follow-up keeping you updated about any new developments. They also have good relationships with great companies in the financial services industry.
I highly recommend the agency.

I have had the great fortune to work with/for WSS since 2006. I am totally shocked to read the negative remarks made by some folks. I have had nothing but excellent working ethics from day one. I took a full time position for 3 years, the position ended and I returned to WSS. Why, because I trust the staff at WSS. I trust a staff who looks out for my interest not just their own. They have my back, which means I also have their backs. Everyone at WSS is friendly and very professional. They want you to succeed. The pre-interview screening I received from Suzanne was an eye opener. I've been in the business for 16 years, however, I have not been in the interviewing market for 16 yrs. Times have changed even though the job descriptions remainds the same the interviews are looking for a certain spark. I am grateful for the screening session with WSS. I believe in planting good seeds and I am proud to be part of Wall Street Services, good SOIL representative.

I've been working for Wall Street Services on a contract with BNY Mellon for six months now and my experience has been nothing but positive. The initial testing process went very smoothly, and a week after which I was set up for an interview with BNY. WSS gave me very helpful pre-interview coaching that I think helped secure me the contract. Since then, they've been good about keeping in touch in a non-intrusive manner. I've never had any problems with the finance department as far as pay goes, and every time I've needed to get in touch with someone regarding an administrative matter, the issue has been resolved the same day. That's exactly what I would look for in a contracting agency, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any of my friends looking for work in the financial sector.

Wall Street Services is by far the best staffing firm that I have encountered. They simply go the extra mile for there candidates with meaningful advice, and pre-interview coaching. They always kept me 'in the loop', informing me of any new job openings or decisions. In a nutshell, they care about their candidates and want them to succeed. This unique culture is what sets Wall Street Services apart from other staffing firms. By all means, whether you are a candidate or hiring manager, you should strongly consider working with WSS.

Wall Street Services has, to date, been the only group to give a proper briefing before an interview. They've also been the only agency that has actively promoted my resume to more than one position at once. Most agencies I've dealt with will usually wait to hear back from one position before applying for the next one. Of course by then the next one has been filled. I appreciate WSS efforts. They make me feel as if they're actually trying to find me work and not just a commission.
