For the most part ,all went smoothly.The young lady at the check in,L.Simmons,was very helpful and very polite.She went above and beyond what was expected or required of her.GREAT JOB,young lady.Next was OfficerBoozell,who actually did the processing of our paperwork.Very courteous and helpful and efficient in doing her job.VERY WELL DONE
I took my CC class in Oct 2020 and paid the $90 and got an appointment scheduled for March 2021. I actually have moved out of the county and was able to get an appointment in my new county faster already.
Update: I did get a call from the Sherrifs office and was able to get a refund at least.
Luckily it didn t take me insanely long to set an appointment. You should be able to get it done if you call consistently throughout the day for at least a few days. Still though wish it couldve been set up with a bit less hassle.
TikTok made you famous, or rather infamous. Treating a person with disabilities with such visceral disdain was not only shocking it was abhorrent. Thankfully he had a camera pointed on you and your faces are out there for everyone to see. Do better.
3/1/2021I went and renewed my CC permit today. The "Greeter" was border line rude. Most of the Customers that came in, she never looked up. But she asked everyone "What you here for".
There is two Angels there that REALLY helped me up the star rating Deputy Boosil she was a ray of light so genuine, happy and positive. She was very helpful and when she completed her job with you. You felt good and you had a good experience with her.
Then went to the checkout window. The lady had a slight accent. And was so professional and nice. She was great as well.

I m gonna give a review over the entire process as applying for a CCW is not just the sheriffs department. You re gonna have to find a concealed carry class that s available. I just so happen to use Fuquay gun and gold as they are the only ones that have a simplistic online portal for applying and the only ones to offer a Friday training class which is extremely rare. Once you re done with your 10+ hours of training and legal information. You will get that piece of paper with a certification number. You will then go home and I highly recommend applying online. They do answer the phones but you ll have to call every 30 minutes until someone picks up I do not recommend that. I have a photo of the online portal for the CCW through wake county. Once you click on that I will also show basic information of what disqualifies you from owning a firearm which is a lot more than people realize. Which does not include the mandatory background check at all gun stores across America. You will give all of your personal information on this website Social Security number 10 years of living history your training certification answer several legal questions. You will click next and go to the date schedule. Pick a date and then you ll pay $100. With your debit card and a confirmation email will be sent. They do have a tracker websites but it has not been accurate since the day I have a applied I don t see the point in it. I was fortunate enough to have a deputy call me and say I can come sooner if I like the date. I said yes and again the online tracker will not show the date change. Do not call and ask if there is an appointment sooner that s not how that works. A deputy will call you if there s an appointment available sooner. When the day comes for your appointment arrive 15 minutes early. Have all your documents that they say to bring. They will take your drivers license your DD 214 if you are a veteran. Then you will fill out a mail envelope with your name and address on the front this is what they will put your CCW in and mail it to your house. Then they will go take your fingerprints and you ll be on your merry way. Do not call and ask where the process is they don t know! you get it when you get it if you get it! Again that s the process it can take anywhere from three months to seven months. If you don t like it I would recommend moving to a state that has Constitutional carry or a county that is known to be processing information faster. Work and getting a hold of someone was a nightmare I was just in the dark the entire time.
I gave this 1 star because I couldn t choose no stars. This Sheriff Baker character is a horrible chief for the people. He had no regard and felt no responsibility to inform the family of an innocent victim before he Informed her ex ( a person of interest ) about details of the case. He went on national TV and lied about his involvement in the case. Our family did the work. The investigating. Gave them the evidence and leads. The tips. We did the leg work & found what we were looking for. Not them. They fought & gave excuses every step of the way on why they couldn t do this or that. These are the people we have in our justice system.
Zero stars!!! Disrespectful and discriminatory. Complete disrespect for the public that they are sworn to protect and serve. This center lies to people and does little to help those actually get their needs met. Total abuse of power!
Im so Thankful for our Wake County Deputy Sheriffs, they are good at what they do! Ive had many great encounters with Wake County Deputies and i was awed and amazed at there professionalism! Thank God for our Law Enforcement Officers
I have been trying to reach out to get an appointment for 4 days. No one picks the phone and they don't accept walk-ins. This doesn't make sense. What else should I do? Drive several miles to ask what's wrong? How did you get an appointment? Any other way? Please advise. Thanks!
