The rec center has completely changed since I attended WWU. It is a beautiful building with a large variety of options. We like to pool for swim lessons for our little girl.
Staff are friendly and useful. All of the machines are in good condition and kept clean. A nice workout environment.
Clean, no heavy chlorine odor at pool, no ce staff.
Great campus, but prospective student tour should include dorm rooms.
Climbing walls, huge gymnasiums! Kids pool area, hot tub, showers, lockers. More types of machines than i can pronounce! Had 3 kids bday parties there already! Everyone is happy and welcoming.
Kids on climbing wall! Kids pool area! Kids swimming lessons! Kids amazed how big open feeling! Everyone i know loves the wade king rec Center. Even my mother in law!
We are forced to pay a fee regardless of whether we use it so obviously looks great
Very accommodating, got into a last moment lifeguard recertification class.
Very nice facility. Don't forget your western card though or you won't be able to get in .
Great gym for students of Western and their guests.
The staff are fantastic, very helpful! Great hours too!
Great facility but too expensive if you're not going to school there
I wish that they'd be able to stay on top of their towels. Sometimes there's no towels to be had.
I worked out here as a student for 3 years and continued as an alumni just because it is such a good facility and the people are great.
Pretty much everything you need to get a good workout. Olympic weight lifting platforms, moderately competitve pick-up basketball, rock climbing wall, swimming pool, indoor track, volleyball courts, hot tub, tons of stationary bikes. The hours on the weekend are pretty limited but who goes to the gym on a saturday night anyways.
The employees there awesome and are quite knowledgeable. Feel at home
Great gym and not extremely crowded given everyone who attends WWU has access. Could use a bigger weight room though.
Great Student Employees who are a lot of fun! Clean, well run facility with awesome equipment!
Lots of equipment, hours, and options to get some exercise! Also, the lobby is a great place to study or do some homework.
The Event was poorly posted. This is a very remote part of the campus, for a non student the campus maps did little in giving the most direct and easiest path to follow to find this location.
The actual event signage were very plain 8x10 sheets of paper.
It seemed like several of the listed partipants were late setting up or were no show due to the poor directions.
I enjoy working out here most mornings before class. The staff is helpful, especially when an injury occurs, and pleasant. The locker room is always clean, which is a big thing for me. The equipment is minimal, but there's usually enough space for everyone.
Incredible gym with great equipment, but very pricey if you aren't a student
I stopped at this building to try and figure out where I needed to go. The building is nice and I enjoyed seeing the surrounding areas. There is plenty to do inside the building and there is even more when you walk around the campus. Nice building in this large university campus. Parking is a different story. Good luck if you can find non-paying parking.
Love the classes offered - great resource for students.
All the equipment you'd ever need, the people who go there follow customs, and the staff are awesome.
The rec center has everything and more besides a much needed SAUNA!!!
Super impressed with swimming, running track for running indoor. It's good to see such a high class facility for students. Keep up the good work WWU!!! Go Vikings!!!
Very nice hot tub and pool but needs more day-use lockers. And jet controls for the hot tub should be within reach of the hot tub so I don't have to get out to turn the jets back on.
Very clean and well maintained with decent equipment.
As a student, you get your rec center usage for free with a fee, from WWU. It's always packed full of people but all the staff are nice and they are willing to help you get the correct form for any lifting and spot you when you need assistance. There are two basketball courts, one of which is split into 3 most of the hours. The pool is nice and usually not too full, and there is a huge hot tub for post workout relaxation. There is also an indoor track that runs along the top of one of the courts. The two gyms are upstairs and downstairs; the top one is usually less busy but also houses mostly machines. The bottom gym is the one that houses most of the free weight equipment. Overall, great place to work out
Great selection of equipment to work out with. They are diligent with keeping their hours of operation on Google up to date on holidays or in-between quarters. Free to access if you're a student at WWU.
