Horrible Equipment & Worse Service!
We have a Voortman V600 that is a year old and has been problematic from the time it was installed. The machine arrived damaged and has had problems since it was installed. Our techs and mechanic made numerous attempts to address the problems with Voortman's service department but, could never get through to them or get a call back. When the machine was down with a motor and gear box issue this winter and basically shut down our shop's normal operation, I became involved and it took me almost a week to get assistance from them. I left multiple messages with the service department and the service manager, Robert who did not return a call until we involved the dealer who sold us the machine. The downtime of this machine has cost us thousands of dollars and Voortman doesn't care. They initially shipped replacement parts from Holland that were damaged and unusable. They then decided to piece the machine back together and worked on a total re-engineering. This took months to complete and once again the parts sent out were not usable. When they did show up, they were 4 days past the time they were originally scheduled. The 1.5 days they said it would take to complete the update to the machine turned into 5 days. The problems with the machine have cost us more than $20k in additional labor. Their service manager should not have "service" anywhere in his title, he does not return calls and every time an issue is brought up rather than owning it, he deflects it to someone else or tries to make it our problem. The fact is, the machine is poorly engineered and manufactured. We are extremely dissatisfied and would urge anyone thinking about purchasing a Voortman product to think again and explore equipment options from one of the reputable equipment fabrication companies! We will never purchase another Voortman product.
