If you like exclusive furnitures and fine history of architecture, Vitra is a place for you. Please do not forget to book an architecture walking tour which lasts for 2 hours......nowhere one could see a group of very talented architects' ceeation in a single campus. 9ne could not see all these buildings without a guided tour. A must see for any one with good taste !!
Incredibly brilliant (free) exhibition of minimalist furniture in the vitra house. The adjacent campus with museum and Schaudepot invite you to discover all kinds of beautiful things.
The house consists of 12 elongated gabled houses, which are stacked on top of each other in different orientations to form a five-story building. It depicts furnishing situations with objects from Vitra. In each of the gabled houses you have an interesting view of the surroundings from a huge window.

we were recommended the house from top to bottom to explore. That's what we did. The differently furnished rooms and areas provide much inspiration as you want to set up the next apartment.
The quality of the furniture speaks for itself. Every single seat and every couch invites you to sit and relax.
Visiting the cafe was also very pleasant. Unfortunately, not all of the cakes that were advertised were there, but a very tasty piece was found.
A clear recommendation for a relaxed and quiet day.

Alone to look at design and furniture, irrelevant if you can afford it or not, the visit is worth more than in the actual museum (at our time the museum was under renovation and in another house)

Drinking coffee with a huge selection of cakes. You sit very comfortably with a modern ambience and good service. In the VitraHaus Museum you can marvel, stroll and also buy things on display.
The company's showroom with free admission to a very beautiful architectural structure by Herzog and Demoreu, two famous Swiss architects. The structure is an interlocking of houses up to form the 5 floors that house the brand's furniture and accessories. There is also a shop with design objects not only of the brand but all very original even if not exactly cheap.
The Vitra house is currently being renovated, so it is closed. Many disappointed faces in front of the door. Just learn how to use Google!

An interesting building by Herzog and de Meuron both in its architectural form and the internal arrangement of spaces. When visiting, take the elevator to the top floor and move downwards. The journey through the showrooms is reminiscent of an IKEA, but for designers.
Yes, the Vitra House is a highlight for fans of upscale interior design and design. The current collection also includes small exhibitions of timeless designers. The sales staff is tangible, but subtly in the background. If you are looking for top design and outstanding quality for a lot of money, you are in the right place.
A super cute place for those who like design and architecture, beautiful spaces and is a good place to get inspired
This exhibition house from Virta (free entry !!!) is heaven for Insta Poser and poster and of course for all furnishing enthusiasts ... the house (house inside the house) is an amazing architecture. Inside you can find interior design examples with attention to details ... whether topics like Alice in Wonderland, office or living room, there is a lot to see here. A circular route leads to the individual areas, where you could immediately put together your own creations. At the end on the ground floor there is a designer shop with every conceivable designer home accessory. In the in-house cafe, you can relax after the tour. Not to be confused with the Vitra Museum next door!
Magnificent real estate store There is the chair, armchair and sofa of our dreams The interior and exterior architecture of the building is very atypical. To walk in such a store makes us go out of the ordinary.

Can t believe I haven t reviewed vitrahaus since I literally come here every month to walk through the showrooms and get inspirations or just to chill here. If you are a designer or design lover, you will definitely love this place. Each room has different themes and you can touch and try the famous designer furniture. The shop on the ground floor is a good place for getting souvenirs or gifts. Yes they are expensive but cheaper than what you pay if you buy them in North America. Plus if you don t live in the EU you can get full tax refund! Anyways this is my favorite place near Basel!

Interesting and free display complex of Vitra and Artek furniture. Very hands on which is nice whether you're browsing or buying. The sales is no pressure but note that the sales cannot be made directly from Vitra but rather through your local Vitra dealer.

Despite Coroana a visit on Sunday; Distances and generally good MSN behavior of the visitors allow them to enjoy the facility and stay there longer. Great furnishing ideas, well placed design suggestions and an interesting architecture rounded off the visit, but the cafe was too full ...
Really cool place. A must for those who want to see things off the known designs. The architecture of the house is already magnificent. The interior is just marvelous as well. For every taste something to find.

It is not a "furniture store" but a Temple of design .... to visit without fail.
Having heard of Vitra from a design exhibit in Singapore, I finally got the chance to visit Vitra Haus. Super cool outing if you are interested in Design and Architecture. There is a museum and a Showroom and well as a little walk with various buildings from known architects like Tadao Ando- san , Frank Gehry or Zaha Hadid. The showroom is free and the walk around as well. There is a cafe and space to sit read eat a picnic. There is even a slide which is super cool.
So sad besides the ground floor, all the floors are closed right now. When it will be open again? We drove a long way to visit especially the VitraHaus, we do feel a bit disappointed. But anyway, hope we have the chance to visit again.
Very impressive house, both inside and out. Great, timeless furniture that invites you to dream and beautiful room concepts. In addition beautiful views from the individual panorama windows on the campus and in the nature.
