When you accidentally set off an alarm and ZERO security come to help, that is a major red flag. When you call the village shallom receptionist and they dont answer and so you call their security line and they don't answer and you are STUCK in the building lobby and can't get out because no one informed you their pass code...that's a major problem. When a staff member finally happens to walk down to the lobby and you ask for help and they act like you should have already known the pass code all along (even though im not staff so how could I have known?) And you tell them you accidentally tripped the alarm and they shrug and walk OUT the door? Problem.
There's nothing else to say but I don't reccommend even thinking about sending your loved one here, or working here for that matter.
I'm concerned about a facility that would attempt to kick out a long term resident. Investigation by State agency's have repeatedly found that Village "dumping" of the resident to be unfounded. The trauma involved with transferring a patient to another facility can have incredibly devastating effects on the resident. Please do the right thing. No documentation, no supporting evidence and no changes to plan of care but instead attempting to dump a resident.
Village Shalom is a fantastic place for your loved one. Erica is so kind and professional she is one of the best directors in Kansas City!.The facility is clean and The activities are amazing! 5 star spectacular
Village Shalom gets 5 stars from our family. Most importantly, they have treated my mom with kindness & respect. The nurses are extremely capable, professional and do whatever they can to get the job done! Bonus points for a very well maintained, beautiful & clean facility. Can't say enough.
I moved into a villa at Village Shalom four days ago. Moving is always stressful but VS made it as comfortable as possible. I had a contract on my previous home the day it went on the market. I thus needed to move quickly, and my villa required considerable work. Every employee of VS and every vendor recommended by VS who helped me with the move performed competently, cheerfully, and timely. I could not be more pleased with my decision to live here. I am seventy-six, in good health, and delighted to be able to look forward to enjoying for many years the lifestyle that VS offers.
