Viewfinder Center of Photography Review

Great courses, creative exchange. I attended the course "Image composition in photography" and was very happy with the whole day and my personal learnings of the course. I can really recommend it.

I have now completed the Studio Portraiture Photography 2 and 3 workshops (sorry I missed the first in the series). I'll cut a long story short, I simply never thought I would be able to produce pictures like the ones I got, I'm super-happy with the results. A big thanks to Erwin, Matt and Dagmar for a fun learning experience with a great group of students. The coaching we received from life-long professionals with such a friendly down to earth approach really helped engage with the models for some great results. "I'll be back" , have a great Christmas and see you in 2020

I loved the approach of Dagmar and Matt. I been on several trips that have allowed me to access parts of my camera and Switzerland that would have passed me by. I have taken good photos and met fabulous people along the way.

Recently attended the long exposure workshop and found Matt's expertise and tutoring to be very good. He is willing to take the time to walk you through composition and help you understand the objective of a shot, as well as the best way to capture it, all in an easy going way.

I have attended several of Viewfinder Center's courses over the years and found them excellent. Matt & Dagmar plan them well and they have always met my expectations. The free element they throw in is the group of interesting people that are there.

Absolutely Excellent. Cannot recommend enough. I did the 1-2-3 course and it was perfect to give me a good grounding as a beginner to start experimenting and out of Auto Mode!! Really professional but friendly atmosphere and group sizes were not too large.

I was looking for a beginner's photography class because I was tired of using the "auto" mode and get always the same "kinds" of pictures. This class was exactly what I wanted: Matt walked us through the basics of photography and showed us step by step how to use our camera to achieve different types of shots. I found his way of mixing theory and practise extremely interesting and well structured. Moreover, I do believe that the best parts of the class were those when we were outside practising, and getting feedback from him: this is something a YouTube video can never give you!

Once again Matt and Dagmar Anderson have exceled in creating an incredibly exciting trip to Lofoton, Norway. This was a once in a lifetime experience. The planning and execution exceeded all expectations. As one of the older participants I was very grateful to Matt and Dagmar for there help and support for what was for me a very strenuous week. Thank you, without your help this would never have been the mind blowing experience it was. This is a trip that you do not want to miss.

I attended the ViewFinder Center Lofoten trip with Matt and Dagmar and had an absolutely fantastic time. The trip was impeccably organised from the moment we were picked up at the airport to the end when arriving back in Zurich. This trip had everything - amazing views, wonderful weather and loads and loads of shooting opportunities. Matt is an excellent instructor and provided every attendee endless technical instruction and friendly help to ensure that my photography improved significantly throughout the week. We had a very comfortable mini-bus to take us from location to location and the hotels were great, with top-notch Norwegian food - to my honest surprise. The pre-trip preparation is excellent with a packing list and an evening briefing where Matt & Dagmar walk through the photography packing list, and - important for the arctic circle - clothing packing list. Overall, Id highly recommend this trip to all levels of photographers. Its a wonderful trip and you meet lovely people!

Having participated in many events and workshops, repeatedly enjoying Viewfinder's highly professional, friendly approach continuously demonstrated during each activity trusting in all aspects of coordination, organisation and photographic expertise being always on hand.
Viewfinder's great team have turned every activity into a memorable experience and without reservation highly recommend them.

Just completed the 10 day Viewfinder trip to Costa Rica! The trip ran like a Swiss watch, and the opportunities for great photography were mind boggling! Both Matt and Dagmar provide great instruction, and look after you with enthusiasm. Highly recommended!!!

I have completed many courses with Viewfinder Center, and my expectations have constantly been exceeded. I have really enjoyed every single course, always learning much more than I was expecting. Matt is really an excellent and engaging teacher, with a very pragmatic approach - explaining the theory in a very pragmatic way combined with a lot of exercises. Always time for questions and individual support for all participants.
Dagmar and Matt are also great at creating a very welcoming and open atmosphere - the time always flies by! Learning a lot and really enjoying it! I definitely recommend Viewfinder Center, e.g. starting with the Digital photography 1-2-3 course. This was the first course I took and exactly what I was looking for to move from using automatic to manual.

Easy going, knowledgeable instructors hosting interesting excursions. What more could I ask for?!

I did the basic course to understand the functions of my camera. Really nice husband and wife team who showed a true interest in my specific needs. Sessions were very well timed, with highly welcome coffee breaks. Later took my wife along to the composition course, which she also thoroughly enjoyed. Instructors made no effort to plug any specific camera brand and were not disdainful of my rather low caliber equipment. Well done team!

Out 10 I'd give the Costa Rica trip a 12! Excellent support from both Viewfinder and the Costa Rica tour guides. Everyone was willing to do anything for anyone that would improve any situation. You couldn't ask for more.

I did the Digital Photography 1-2-3 course and I absolutely loved it. It gave me confidence to experiment more with my camera and it helped to improve the quality of my photos. Highly recommend any course with the Viewfinder team!

I did the advanced photography study and some other workshops. The teachers are very helpfull and you learn a lot. My photography improved a lot thanks to Viewfinder Center.

I would highly recommend Viewfinder Center as a good place to learn photography in a friendly setting. I followed the Advanced Study and several other workshops and daytrips before that. Learning a new skill and making friends. It has a great community too to share and keep being inspired.

MAJESTIC WINTER LANDSCAPES OF LOFOTEN

I had the pleasure of Joining Matt and Dagmar on their recent Lofoten Islands Photographic winter tour. The entire event was expertly planned and organised. Each day offered a new varied and different location to photograph, from remote fishing villages, wild beaches to Sea Eagles and snow covered fiords and not forgetting the magical Aurora Borealis.

Matt offered expert advice on both the technical and the creative aspects of photography ensuing we all got amazing shots. We were blessed with great weather and a fantastic group of fellow photographers which made the trip very memorable, I am already looking forward to the next trip. If you like winter landscape photography this trip is a must. Thank you Matt and Dagmar.

I did the Advanced Photography Study course followed by various workshops and day trips and recommend Viewfinder to anybody who has a passion for photography, wants to learn photography from scratch, further develop his skills or become more creative.
