Almost a century ago, the VFW National Home for Children began as a place where families left behind by war could remain together. Today, the National Home continues to provide a safe haven and support system for military and veteran families in need.
Located on 629 acres of rolling hills in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, the VFW National Home offers a variety of programs and services designed to help families overcome challenges and build brighter futures. The community consists of 42 single-family homes that are available to eligible military and veteran families at significantly reduced rates. These homes are fully furnished and equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, cable TV, internet access, and more.
In addition to housing assistance, the VFW National Home also provides educational opportunities through its scholarship program. Each year, several scholarships are awarded to children or grandchildren of eligible veterans who plan on pursuing higher education. These scholarships can be used at any accredited college or university in the United States.
