I have called and received the automated answering service. I have been on hold for over 15 minutes. I then gave my phone number to be called back. My call back was the next week and even then I had to call back to get the services needed.
I understand times are hard, but this is ridiculous.
TERRIBLE.....the voice recognition doesn't understand what you say then it disconnects you instead of transferring you to a person....UNSAT
They won't even answer the phone Trump is going to drain the swamp out in Washington DC these nasty evil people are getting away with murder.
Garbage people!!! So I'm going to school, relying on MY EARNED BENEFITS to pay bills. When you are late, I'm late. I get fee's, what can I charge you for being late? REMEMBER THIS KIDS BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THE MILITARY. ONCE YOU ARE OUT, THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ANYMORE.

I had an optometry appointment on February 5th, 2016. My doctor was Dr. Valerie Cereboves. She did a superb job examining my eyes. She was very professional, friendly and spent the time she needed to examine me. Five stars for Dr. Cereboves.
I also got a pair of glasses after my exam. That is a great benefit. Again, the person in the optical shop was very helpful.

The VA is the worst agency I have ever come across. I had to fight with the VA for over two years to receive an apportionment for my 2 children. Once that was finally in place and they turned 18 the funds went to them. They are to receive as long as they are in school. Well here we are again, 1 child changed from a community college to a 4 year school so we submitted a request for school attendance on an existing claim. So according to the records they received it July 12, 2016 and have been trying to get a status update since then. I was just told today that they should complete the claim by August 2017. Are you kidding me? She turns 23 next month so the benefit stops anyways. How hare is it to change the name of a school in the computer system? Over a year? What exactly are they doing? Oh the claim was also upgraded to financial hardship so it moves through the system quicker, really 13 months is quicker? When you call the "customer service" line all you get is what they read off of a script. This place is a joke. I truly believe because we have been calling and checking on status and keeping up on things that the file has been flagged not to move along. This is not the first time we had to change schools and it took less than a month. I have contacted my Senator and just might have to go to the media next to expose how bad the VA really is. Shameful!!!!
I went to Conroe V.A. with a bone protruding from my gums, I've been going to the Robley Rex V.A. in Louisville ky. Since 1975 when I got out of the Army. Conroe V.A. dental clinic refused to see or treat me. I'm 70 have a brain injury PTSD and been totally disabled since 2005. What else do I need? I'm still in pain because I can't afford a private dentist my regular insurance won't cover it. My teeth were removed in 2016 because my thyroid was radiated and i had multiple abscesses on my gums and my teeth were falling out, I still had 28 teeth. So the denist planed on removing 14 teeth but others came out too. So for the 2nd trip I only had 8 left to remove. I was so upset when I left Conroe V.A. I threw up. I'm not sure I can go back. But I need relief.
So I have recently retired and received my VA rating so yesterday I called so I could set appointments and start being seen. The individual I spoke with when using then number above was great, helped me change a few things, ensured I was in the system correctly and then explained which clinic I would go to. Then once I was transferred to the Belvoir VA clinic I get a voice mail and asked to leave a message every time I called. Not the way I wanted to start my VA experience!!!!
The VA is among the most incompetent agencies in the entire federal government. I tried using VA Choice so I wouldn't have to travel ninety miles to the nearest VA hospital. Well, the first provider I tried to see kept me waiting for a half hour beyond my scheduled appointment. I walked out in disgust. I called VA Choice and informed them of the problem and told them to find me another provider. Received a call back that day, saying that the next nearest provider was thirty miles away. I agreed to see that provider, the appointment was set for today. I went to the Doctor's office and was told they had no copy of my authorization and I had never received one(should have known something was fishy).
The Doctor's receptionist tried calling VA Choice. After fifteen minutes of waiting, they couldn't get through. I tried myself for another 20 minutes, couldn't get through. Went home and tried calling again, this time I got through fairly quickly and was told the had no record of my appointment. Typical bureaucratic nonsense and incompetence!
Would give them negative one stars if I was allowed to.
Are America's veterans badly in need of a Trump revolution in order for the Veterans Health Administration to become competent? The Choice Program has apparently amounted to no more than a farce since its inception. The VA apparently spends incredible amounts of money in worthless mailings and explanations, putting on Obammie fronts, in lieu of functioning as the public has repeatedly demanded.
I waited over an hour for a scheduled medical appointment, outrageous. The building is huge, the staff doesn t know where anything is, parking is awful. Terrible experience.

Absolutely terrible. Just about everyone there was rude when I went in for severe chest pains and was in the ER for 6 hours and was never seen. I've now been calling for the past couple of days and have been put on hold for over an hour each time.
My husband has bladder cancer and has a followup appointment on Monday April 23. 2018 and thanks to the Veterans Administration his veterans choice program was not approved on time because the veterans in Huntsville Alabama cancelled his appointment to see his regular physician so he could get approved for the VC program again. So, now, guess what, he is out in the cold. He served 22 years to get treated like some animal. His cancer has to be checked every 6 months to see if he has to start chemo again to keep it confined to his bladder so it doesn't spread through his body. So-if they keep on all the news channels all across the U.S. will hear about it.
Outstanding service via staff. My father, self,husband, and children are Vets. My wish would be that ALL VA Administrations as well as hospitals ran not so simply but as smooth as Washington, D.C.'s.

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER. When I first called I told my wait time was 18 mins. I was on hold for over 40 mins. The second time I called my wait time was 24 mins, also on hold for over forty mins.......with no answer. I have called a total of 7 times, and been on hold with no answer for over 40 mins. The last time (the seventh time) I was on for over an HOUR when I was told my wait time was 20 mins, and still received no answer.
The neurology clinic and Heidi Moloni are great. It's terrible that I have to travel from Texas, not going to say which city, to get great treatment. All I done was serve my country proudly as a Army Soldier and got diagnosed with MS. Please fix ALL the VA hospitals, we the veterans deserve at least that when we get home, the very best medical treatment from the clerks, nurses and Dr's. Thank You In Advance

The VA functions as a large insurance company that wants to deny its clients support. Its not disorganization, its structured funds being held from the vets and given to the top. The best of us treated like insurance claims. My theory was that it was an agency that was just too big to be organized. That's not why it's not helping vets. It's a ponzi scheme on the inside, the systems they poured copious funds into are sensitive not disorganized. This is a design. The higher ups in this agency have the best insurance money can buy and golden parachutes, they make over 6 figures, disgusting place. I'm ashamed of them.
When I moved to North Carolina for 30 days I tried to call to transfer health my health care from Philadelphia Pennsylvania to North Carolina. I physically had to drive 350 miles round trip to physically in roll a my health care. I waited 3 months to get a primary care Doctor. My primary care physician put in we farolles for a cardiologist a vascular doctor a dermatologist and a ENT Doctor. I m still waiting that has been 5 months now and 2 weeks ago I ended up in the hospital from a HEART ATTACK. Do not rely on VA Health Care cause I believe there job is to KILL US OFF INSTEAD OF HELPING US.

My local VA Hospital in Salisbury said that the workers have a "right" to use security to intimidate patients at VA Hospitals. Not sure if the people in DC know that this is going on but I just wrote a letter to inform them.
I am 100% service- connected disabled veteran. I have tried for seven years to get a mobility lift on my truck because of my disability I can not walk 100 feet before I have to set down. some stores do not have carts for shoppers, so I can not shop. I have written the secretary of the va but the va does nothing. for me the va could careless about the veterans they are suppose to help with there disability needs. this is the reason I could careless to have anything from the va. the va waste money and keeps getting more and more money ever year and veterans medical care is get worse. I go to my private doctor because the va does not treat my service-connected disability. the va could careless. Houston va does absolutely nothing to help me have a better life. I have had to fight tooth and nail with the va sense I was discharged from the military in 1976. va should be closed down and medical care should be privatized and I could get good medical care. right now the va sucks,period.

The VA does a great job taking care of the nation's vets.
You know what I find most disturbing about all of these posts comments is that it look like very few if anyone from the Va responded to or gave any real resolution to any negative painful post. So I guess I won't post my issues or concerns. & nothing for nothing what happened to getting this BS system straight for THE AMERICAN VETERANS!!!
They re terrible I ve been fighting stage four cancer for over two years of trying to get my Appeals reviewed. The doctor that seen me I wasn t able to walk in the clinic or walk out of the clinic he didn t even look at me I can send a picture of what I look like the doctors give me for six months to live.
I called the Atlanta branch for help on getting a Certificate of Eligibility for a house loan and talked to a guy named Jacob. He gave me a wealth of information and showed that he really cared even though I just started talking to him. That guy is awesome

You could automate that Condo List, now vets can purchase a condo.
Condo's cost less than a home because of shared costs.
Florida has the most condos in the USA.

Jut a suggestion...when Googling DC VA Medical Center Address the Vermont Avenue address comes up. You might want to work on your web presence and make sure patients aren't showing up to your Headquarters location and are being sent away.

APPOITMENT TIME IS TO FAR APART. CLINIC I GO TO IN MAYAGUEZ, P.R. HAS NO EQUIPMENT TO HANDLE EMERGENCY. DONT EVEN HAVE IV FOR EMERGENCY.

My son Richard Dean Fowler is a disabled Veteran and he has not been assigned a new primary care Doctor for the last 5 months because the offices in Monett Missouri have been closed and he has been waiting all this time for someone to assign him a Doctor. He had to travel all the way to Arkansas to get help for an infected ear. The Doctor there that treated him couldn't speak English and almost gave him medication that would have killed him because he is allergic to it. The Doctor couldn't be bothered to read his medical history. My son takes all kinds of medication and needs to see a Doctor regularly. He should not be treated this way for serving his country.
