Great meeting study and Gathering location on VCU Monroe Campus
Can they please power wash this place. There's rarely any seating, always long lines, and the pod has everything marked up. I think I tried to buy a candy bar and it was almost $3
I am a student at vcu, and I am at the commons almost every day at some point on campus. It's a pretty amazing building actually. You have taco Bell, freshii, subway, and pizza Hutt inside for food. There's a game room downstairs that's way cooler than it was when I first got to vcu in 2016, and it has pool tables (which are NICE) and some video games, like smash bros. There is a lot of room upstairs for events and exhibitions. Lots of life here. It's also a safe way to cut time off your walk to class. It's as good as a student commons gets I guess.
Chickfila best bois. Freshii meh. Taco Bell is self explanatory
This is one of my favorite spots to study as it is very conveniently placed between many of my classes. The bottom floor is often loud so just head upstairs if you want some piece and quiet. While their are places to eat they are plagued by slow service and low quality food.
Great food options. Steady rotation of info/sales tables. Always bustling but seating is always available even during peak times. And POWER OUTLETS are abundantly available. I haven't come across a USB charging hub, but I'm sure if I were to ask I'd either be pointed to one or informed where I could make the suggestion.
If you haven't visited VCU in the last few years, you should take a stroll around campus! It's stunning...from the floor to ceiling windows on the library's 2nd floor to the Ramsway (a brick path from Cary St. to Broad, illuminated, outfitted w/security cameras, heavily patrolled & monitored for student safety) to the Ram's horns outside the Commons!!! And that's just the beginning of the changes! The advising staff (ESPECIALLY Mrs. Zbell), the professors, the students at the Help Desk, the VCU Police, & on & on make VCU great! It has transformed from a safety school to one students choose to attend for not just location but also for the diversity & quality of class offerings & majors as well as student population!
