Van der Valk Hotel Amersfoort A1 Review

Comfortable and lovely atmosphere. Very nice and relaxed

I attended a nice workshop on the top floor of this hotel, the workshop was very good organized. The facility's in the hotel didn't work to well and we had to do without a coffeemaker in our class. The hotel it self looked very good and clean.

Good staff, the place looks neat and they have a decent menu. Outside seating available.

Salad bar was not very special. Is not entirely in line with the menu. In addition, a lot of staff at salad bar.

Apart from that .. Good food! Friendly staff.

Good meeting rooms, good lunch. Could do with some better signs to find the correct parking.

Tournedos was delicious! Unfortunately the mash and bell pepper / zucchini around it cold. Also soup not hot. Country bread as an appetizer were 3 slices of bread with tasteless herb butter.

Our party came for a high tea. In the first round, tasty sandwiches were brought. Then came the next round of puff pastry snacks and then a round of soup. This was very tasty but doesn't really feel like high tea. Then we received the sweet round. This consisted of only chocolates. We were looking forward to scones or at least a cake. This was a big disappointment. If you are looking for a real high tea then I do not recommend this.

Nice price, comfortable beds and good food with nice wine.

The food is always great at Van der Valk no matter the location.

Unfortunately, not many measures have yet been taken regarding prevention for Corona. Just towels instead of paper. It is a pity that a question is not seriously responded to.

With 5 people ate in the restaurant, the taste was good, but unfortunately the meat was not at the right temperature for everyone, the meat was just cold. Reported to the management, more than excuse could not get rid of it. Van der Valk unworthy!

The hotel is conveniently located, with bus number 3
you are quickly in the beautiful city of Amersfoort.
The rooms are well equipped.
There is an instruction manual for the television set
desirable as it is complicated to choose a program.
Unfortunately we were there in June, i.e. during Corona times
and couldn't enjoy the otherwise great breakfast. There was a buffet, but in a very stripped-down version.
The free parking spaces at the hotel can be rated very positively, as parking prices are extremely high in the Netherlands.

Cared for Van der Valk concept. Operation in the learning phase, accuracy still needs to pick up. Took really long during dinner.

Very nice restaurant, overpriced breakfast, you have to stock up yourself. Our reservation had been forgotten. We were only there for breakfast. The operation took a long time to get to us. One child in our group ordered from the menu. We were all done with the buffet meal, when the little son finally got his meal. The pancakes were almost frozen inside (!!). Selection at the buffet very clear, the staff had great difficulty refilling. For our 16.50 we could not try anything that would have existed. Our justified complaint was shrugged off. First and last time!

Average. Hotel was busy so staff and restaurant struggled to cope.

The room is good and soundproof but everything is said with that.
Service is very poor.
Had booked with an arragement but on arrival there was nothing known but good that I could submit a copy so that is resolved. Arriving in the room coffee maker leaked water trash on the shower was still full of previous people would have been to the reception to be resolved after 2 hours someone came for the coffee maker but the trash was only emptied the next day. Breakfast is also not worth 4 stars. Have 3 coffee spoons where the dirt was still on. And then staff no this really can not do the name really not good though they are more busy with each other and noisy. And then twice in succession the same vegetables at the dinner bit strange .

With partner, 1 night luxury room incl hot tub. Is idd on an industrial estate (there is nothing wrong with that) entrance is difficult to find. The luxury kmr is very ordinary. .but we think this is more for business guests.

Eaten here a bite, but poor service & poor service. Besides that certain dishes were not in stock, also no solution. I expect a bit more professionalism from a Van Der Valk. Also made a report with the ministry, no less than 2 times with different employees, but this also seemed to fascinate them little.

What should have been a nice, tasty evening meal was spoiled for a while! Despite the fact that everything was clearly requested by telephone in advance and this was confirmed, but unfortunately!

Good food, nice staff and often walk by. A bit of a little garnish (I noticed this at several van der Valk restaurants).

Nice dinner and a delicious appetizer at the beginning. One small downside is that there was little on the menu. Furthermore, we were well served and everything looked very good.

Just back from a weekend in Van der Valk. The room with hot tub was wonderful. We thought it was a shame that not all channels did it. The channels RTL 7, Veronica and NET 5 did not work, and for 355 you expect a TV with all channels. Saturday morning it was a big ant nest at breakfast. It was way too busy on that little piece where breakfast is offered. You stand in line for a long time, and it's all very narrow. I was hit with coffee, so everything went over it. Also the boiled egg this morning was a downside, it was boiled too short so it was still liquid. Fortunately it was a lot quieter this morning at breakfast. It is a nice hotel but 355 is really way too expensive.

Normally always had good experiences, today had to wait so long for lunch that we had to look for the ministry. Table was dirty and sticky and was only partially cleaned. The food was good.

Super nice business center. Spacious, a good atmosphere and excellent care!

UPDATE!!! VD Valk has handled it nicely. They have offered sincere apologies. We get 1 night with dinner as a saving grace. Really tribute to this hotel. Too bad of last weekend, but neat how vd falcon solves this for us

This is completely vd Valk unworthy hotel. Don't get why this hotel is rated so well. We had not heard that there were renovations outside the hotel, we only saw this on arrival. Entrance is just a swinging door, mess outside, it is a real construction site. Reception is friendly, but you can smell the restaurant food, yuck. The space at the lift is simply not possible, you are next to the dirty storage of the laundry. The hallway to the room is just dirty and much is damaged. Why isn't this looked at? Room 209 is simply, simply furnished. Again, this room is not checked by management, everywhere damage that could have been made just as well. And who tested the shower foam and shampoo once? Works for no meter, no foam and barely cleans. Breakfast is ok, but I've had so much better at vd Valk. Life cooking at breakfast really doesn't make any sense. We definitely do not recommend this hotel, you really can get much better! Actually vd Valk had to be ashamed of himself !!!

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at van der Valk on Monday. We had not seen each other for a long time and thanks to our friendly good host Serdar we had a very nice evening. The stuffed pumpkin was delicious and worth another try. Until next time van der Valk: D

Actually quite good, but unfortunately so clairaudient, that at night you can not get an eye as soon as someone leaves a door in the hallway. If you sit in bed, then even the walls wobble noticeably in the back. Breakfast good, restaurant very good, service excellent. Transport connections very good: by car, the public or by bike to reach everything easily. 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam.

The hotel is next to the highway, so it is easy to reach. I only stayed for dinner, which was very nice. As was the service.

Chain hotel in Amersfoort off the A1 motorway . Clean. Decent size rooms. Not so cheap. Good food. Gym nearby that guests can use for free.

We come very regularly for snack food and drink useful. Fairly good service,

But one person always stands out and that's Serdar. He has the profession under control on all fronts. He is accurate, very polite and friendly, understands everything quickly, is attentive and very patient. Well so on.
It is someone to keep an eye on because he certainly has the potential to grow in the company.

The air conditioner was broken. This was known to the reception, but they gave us this room anyway. Was just in that sweltering week. As compensation, I get a 25% discount on my next visit. What kind of offer is this. Had given us a dinner voucher or something, valid for every van der Valk.

We had a nice new large room with a nice shower.
The breakfast, despite the corona time, was excellent as always!
Still a tasty and extensive breakfast buffet! Really amazing!!
Dinner was also very tasty!

We stayed here for 2 nights in late February 2020 and the feeling is mixed. On the one hand, there is potential in this hotel, but it lacks guidance. Look through the eyes of customers! Eg. the arrival how difficult can it be. It was 7.30 pm and dark, but due to work on the parking lot we were directed to further but then little to see where and not lit. The receptionist received us neatly and the rooms close together, super. You swallow the way to the rooms, carpet in many places just dirty, walls damaged, too bad. The room looks fine at the start, a pity that the mattress has potholes and here too several damage. And then, you want to open a window ... not. The cooling must come from the air conditioning, resulting in the sound of (loud) blowing throughout the day / evening AND night .... Grrrrr! We have resolved never to go to a hotel where the windows cannot be opened again! A few more compliments: the housekeeping was fine. The staff at breakfast are friendly. On the other hand, the restaurant staff was sloppy and should be more responsive to the wishes of the visit. Especially here you see that the management is not there, too bad that costs your customers. The quality of the food is good.
So overall there is potential in this hotel, but a lot of work and changes have to be made. And regarding the management: open your eyes and look like a guest OR take another job because this is not quality and not worthy of Van der Valk.
