I have been a caregiver for over 30 years. I learned of Valley Caregiver Resource only 3 years ago, from a dear friend. I appreciate the help and genuine care and guidance I have received in this time. The classes are full of information and there is personal interest in every client. The support of staff and being in groups of other caregivers has given me strength and encouragement that usually comes when I most need it. They stress the need for caregivers to take care of themselves in order to be the best they can be! Something most of us neglect, thinking it is selfish and takes time and energy away from those in their care. Big mistake! The respite help from the center is so appreciated from my heart! I try to share this resource to all I come across who are in the same situation of caregiving.

Absolutely horrendous service and terribly rude staff. A supervisor named Susan B is unable to articulate what her services are or how she can provide assistance to a family with an elderly person at risk. By the tone and vocabulary used Susan B is uneducated and uninformed on what her volunteer position entails. She will not provide any help when I have an elderly person at risk and I was told that I should call the police but they won t help me either. I m disgusted and saddened that this is a service put in place to help those in need and they won t help and shame you for calling.

I was a caregiver for my mother, my aunt and lastly, my husband. I received services from VCR and it was truly a lifesaver for me. Anyone who is has been a caregiver for a loved one knows how difficult and stressful it can be. The services they provided helped me keep my sanity!
