The staff of Valhalla is decent. The food is good and rooms are very clean. Housekeepers are cleaning the rooms properly at the same time if you order something to eat they try to make it as soon as possible and ask if you guys need anything or not. You should defibately invest the money jf you want to stay in Thunder Bay.
Great place to stay in Thunder Bay. The front desk staff is very friendly, the food at both the Skal lounge and the Timbers restaurant breakfast was delicious, affordable and fast for food that is just like homemade. The room was comfy- bed& pillows and the shower had pressure and the bathroom fan worked. We'd definitely recommend this place and we will stay again if in Thunder Bay. Also pet friendly(cat) and no carpet in our room!! Great stuff Valhalla Inn

This place really needs an update. The Hotel has good bones and it could be a beautiful place 25 years ago. The furniture in my room was old and in a really bad shape. The room had a funny smell. They said breakfast was from 7am to 10am ... we went there at 9:45am and they said that breakfast was over at 9:30am. We went to the lobby to make a complaint and they didn't care. They also charged extra for the rooms without let us know. They were saying that the extra charge is for the deposit and it will return to my credit card in 3 business days. I wouldn't recommend this place. I had terrible experience.
I was in isolation staff took proper precautions made sure everything was clean and friendly.

Front desk agents are super gentle and down to earth. Helped me with my requests on the spot. Housekeeping asked if i needed anything when i walked by. And maintenance came to my room right away too. Nothing broken but i couldn't figure out the bathtub plug! He was also very curteous and positive! Everyone is super nice and helpful!
Great location. Three minutes from airport. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant - I'm sure it would have been great to hang out there outside COVID. Still got takeout and it was great. Too bad COVID eliminated their ability to serve beer on tap because those choices looked interesting and their bottle selection is limited.
Rooms spacious. Loved the huge armchair in my room. I'll have to come back once all this nonsense is over.

Valhalla was great as always. The pool looks sad and lonely though as COVID has ruined my life with not being able to swim or have a drink in the hot tub. I am pretty sure the shift manager was coming to see what the heck I was doing down the pool hallway. It's not like me to get in trouble in a hotel. ;-) Robert is one of the most amazing people at Valhalla. Even when I tell him something he already knows, he says, "Oh okay, thank you for telling me that." He doesn't give attitude like some staff at other hotels who need to make a show of, "Yeah..I know!" Of course he knows! He is on the ball with everything yet treats me with respect and says thanks for the things I tell him, even though he knows it already. That is rare these days in customer service! The only complaint I have is from the room service woman. I asked what sauces they had for the ribs and she said, "What do you like?" Well, I hate ribs! So I don't actually want them at all, but since I am ordering for someone else it is easier just to tell me what you have, not answer my question with a question. She also sounded slightly disgusted that this person wanted onions on a Ceasar salad. I don't make the rules for good culinary taste, I just make the call to order it because nobody else wants to. Thank you Robert for always making me feel like I am a VIP guest.
