UW-Madison Wendt Commons: Empowering Students through Innovation and Technology
UW-Madison Wendt Commons is a community of designers and builders within the College of Engineering (CoE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With 12,000 ft2 of shop and flex space, the Makerspace provides students with access to a wide range of rapid prototyping equipment. The Makerspace is largely student-run, creating an environment that empowers students to explore emerging technologies and create innovative solutions.
At UW-Madison Wendt Commons, we believe in providing students with hands-on experience in design and engineering. Our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and more. These tools allow our students to turn their ideas into reality quickly and efficiently.
Our community is made up of passionate individuals who are dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation among our members. We offer workshops on various topics such as electronics, woodworking, metalworking, programming languages like Python or Java etc., which help our members develop new skills while working on exciting projects.
