This is a great place to get your Padi certification. I got my Open water and my advanced open water course. I enjoyed every minute.
It is an intense course that takes up the majority of your day. Boats leave for morning dives at 08:00 and the afternoon boats don't get back till around 17:00. You get 4 instructional dives a day and maybe an opportunity to jump on a Whale Shark if one is spotted close by.
Since it is such a busy day, my recommendation would to do some advanced reading prior to the course. If you know someone with the dive books borrow them and give it a read through. It will give you more free time in the evenings.
Also, show up a day prior to get your dive materials and forms completed so you aren't behind.
Another tip to save you some money.. the medical forms don't need to be filled out by a doctor unless you answer yes to any of the questions.
Also, make sure you clean and dry your ears after your dives. Swimmers Ear is annoying at best.

Loved the experience. The instructor and the other staff was great, friendly and patient. They adapted to our schedule since we couldn't come the day was expected. Equipment and facilities are in great conditions.

Confined sessions could start in the pool, regardless of the weather. I would only recommend to add the option of paying for pictures in the Fun Dives, leaving the island without any underwater souvenir.

Awesome facility on an amazing island. I earned my Open Water certification and wish I had more time to do additional courses. My instructor, Hope, was incredibly knowledgeable and super cool. We also had a great crew of Dive Masters and Instructors in training. By the end of my course I felt like I was more part of a community rather than just a dive center. Can t wait to come back to UDC!

We're so glad we chose UDC to take the Open Water course. The instructors, facilities and equipment were all excelent and very professional. One of the best things is doing the confined skills in a pool before doing them on the ocean, I've heard that other training centers don't use a pool. We had a very nice time!

The only thing is that we would've liked if they took some pictures of our dives and maybe then share them with us, even if they had a UDC watermark or for an additional fee. But other than that, it was GREAT! Definitely recommended.

A lot of measurements were taken throughout the course to prevent Covid spread.
