Great company! Majority of the staff is great, some of them go above and beyond to help resolve issues. New online system is a little confusing at first! Only downfall, they are an agency based company which can sometimes make things slightly more difficult with getting detailed information on the policy its self.
Canceled my insurance without any notice at all . Never use them if your trying to run your bissness.

Called for quote. Called back a few days later to make small changes since I didn't know answer to some of thier question. Could not get right person on phone....after an hour of trying I finally get to talk to them only to find out I was billed for policy even though I never signed any documents. Only way to cancel is to down load document, print, sign, scan and send back. They want to take your money, provide no service, and make it more difficult to cancel than it is to sign up.
Worst experience I've ever had with an insurance company. 2 months after closing on my house the underwriters had an infinite amount of issues after they took my money. The agent didn't have the courtesy to answer phone calls, he could only text until I called the corporate office. Unbelievable how unprofessional this company is. Let's see if I actually get my refund.
I wish I could rate less than one star. Theyve harassed me with survey letters for months, but never answer phone calls or call you back. Every 2 years, They are useless.
The worst experience of any insurance company I had policy with. I had business insurance with them for a few years.
You cannot talk to anyone. That is their policy. Only trough outside agent who is only interested to sell you a policy and then you re on your own.
They want money up front. They find reasons to cancel your insurance every year meanwhile the price is going up.
I never submitted any claim. Their policies have one page for coverage and 15 pages for exclusions.
Finally I cancelled policy, but they do not want to as they have to pay me back.

I called to initiate a claim today and without any detail Brianna told me my claim would not be covered. How is this even possible? We will see how this pans out, but customer service in one call is terrible.
They have not sent me the money they owe me for cancellation of my policy. They haven't returned my emails.

I would have given a negative star if I could. Dumb people working for dumb principles. Stay far far away from these people. They will take your money and run away. Oh and they are not able to verify your info to give a straight answer on the phone as well. Useless people.
What a bunch of crooks! I went to my local Nationwide insurance agency for insurance for my small business. He asked a lot of questions and found a good rate for liability insurance. After purchasing my policy, I had to take a mandatory online survey or they would cancel my policy. Once I completed the online survey, I received a notice in the mail that my premium had nearly doubled. Feeling deceived, I went to a different insurance agency and obtained insurance elsewhere and cancelled the Utica First Policy. After waiting nearly another month for Utica First to refund my paid premium, I received a check for $155 less than what I paid. After calling Utica First to inquire as to where the remainder of my money is, they informed me that there is a $150 cancellation fee. I would not recommend this company for any reason!
All of the reviews that are negative are true. Unfortunately, I let my mortgage person persuade me to use this company. I'm an idiot. Less than 6 months and I regret it. Don't be an idiot like me!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
If I could give negative stars then I would !! The worst ever. I didn t read the reviews before I did but they are the worst. They train their employee to take no responsibility for anything. I set up automatic payments on my account so I pay on time every time and the moment you make a claim it s an issue. They will tell u at the beginning oh this n that is covered and when u make a claim ,that s an exception to the claim and it does not cover it. When you read the certificate it says a total different thing from what they are saying .
Well ok I will be taking my business someplace else. No sense in paying insurance that I can t use .

I called regarding a claimant still no answers, but if my payment was late I'd already have a phone call, a letter and an email. I feel so ignored.
They returned my policy payment for what reason?! I payed them for the entire year and 3 weeks later I receive a returned check with no explination.
Recommendation get it once and move on or just don't get this insurance
I established a business liability policy with Utica through Geico. First of all, mad at Geico but they have handled it on their end. Utica still owes me $199.50 for a policy down payment when they can't meet my needs. This payment SHOULD have been in the mail last week. Two weeks later, im still waiting and cannot move forward with anything else for my new business. I will never, ever recommend them, nor will I ever use this company, even if they did cover for my needs.
This company is scam artist and bunch of crooks. I never purchased any homeowner policy from this company. The insurance broker offered me Utica First Insurance Company with rate almost the same as my current insurance. I am advised insurance broker that it is not acceptable and I stay with my current insurance. The Utica anyway request pay $147 even I never signed any documents with them and sent me for collection.
This is clear fraud and must be prosecuted by New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.

Continual Cancellation notices are sent to me when I pay 100% ON TIME and have for years. On the notice there are no phone numbers to call and it is very frustrating and RUDE! When you spend $50,000 on insurance every year and pay all bills on time it sucks to get cancellation notices in the mail! I am looking for other carriers.
Been using them for years. Recently been having a hard time reaching someone who can help with business specific purposes. Everything is being done on line and it wasn't easy to set up. A little frustrated but I will adjust
My adjuster is very rude. You cover a gas station who ruined my car and nothing is being done about it. I have been waiting weeks on my claim. I have no problem waiting but when I call for information why be so rude. I will definitely lawyer up.
Terrible company. Instated a business policy then merely 24hrs later canceled me because I mowed tall grass (aka brushhogged). Then billed me for a months policy even when I was already paying for another company to insure me. Dishonest business practices, zero communication, and down right shady company. Steer clear of this company as mentioned in almost every other review.
This company is operating on no brains and or lies. They were suppose to send a check regarding a claim.i was told they mailed the check from Utica, N.Y. on May 23 2018 well it is now June 8th still no check. I requested it be overnighted to me to receive on this Sat. 6/9/2018. I told them this was ridiculous and I feel like there is some shady business going on. If the check is not here tomorrow I will be calling my attorney on Monday morning. Don't use this company feels like the are running a scam.All I want is my money they have no problem taking money in now when it comes to payout they try to blame it on the U S mail.
