The visit was an interesting experience, like a short trip to America. It is fascinating to see that there is a "small American city" on the ground and that the soldiers and their relatives do not necessarily have to leave Base. There is everything there, what you need for daily life. Some German small town does not have such a comprehensive leisure offer.

Stationed there 14 years all tolled. It certainly has grown! I was there in the late 60s, 8 years in the 70s, and a lot of the 80s. I lived in Kindsbach, Ramstein housing, Vogelweh housing while at Kapaun AS, and bought a home at 105 Pariser Strasse, Kaiserslautern. Moved to Bonn and lived in Officer Transient cottage across from the American Embassy where I worked. A personal family tragedy in America resulted in me leaving Europe and my Germany. I would love to revisit but am 90 % disabled veteran and dont have the funds. Iche Liebe Deutschland! !

Easily one of the best assignment I ever had the pleasure of getting while I was in the Air Force. The base facilities while I was stationed there in the late 90's were adequate. When I came back through early 2000's they were outstanding. The only thing I could say that is lacking would be the lodging facilities off the main base. The satellite lodging facilities are old and need to be gutted and refurbished, which I believe were in the works. The Main AAFES exchange is huge and the shops in the concourse are nice. The food court is just like one back home in the US. If you get an assignment here consider yourself lucky. Enjoy the area be courteous to the nationals on and off the base and represent the US, USAF, and US Army in a positive manner. On a side note who is this "Ami" other commenters are asking to leave and go home?

It's a nice air base there is always a ton of things going on. Hope the toxic leadership has made it's way elsewhere. It's near a few small villages that have plenty to offer. Kaiserslautern is a short drive on the A6 and it has most things you could want. Its Europe so get out and travel if at all possible.

Due to the airbase, many Germans have a job that is safe. The Americans spend their money in German shops and those from the East moan, the Americans should go away. Lol. You have no idea what the airbase means to humans.
And clearly the weapons, that's also a MILITARY airbase

Ramstein Air Base is really great, visiting here immediately feels a bit like being on vacation in the USA. The whole area is really very beautiful and well developed, there are lots of opportunities to do something, to eat out or to buy something. The people you meet there are all super friendly. However, you can only perceive all these things if you are visiting there with someone who is also employed by the Army, NATO or the Air Force in order to get access to all these things. Still really good.

I THOUGHT this section was for folks, whether Civilian or Military, to write some USEFUL reviews about what the Base has to offer, the Command, how easy it is to get around, etc. I wasn't thinking this section would denigrate into the Locals eviscerating we Service Members just for...well, being in the US Military. This section reminds me of the "Comments" section of YouTube on any random video about the Military.
I was here TDY in 2008- was only on a 14 day set of Orders, but, seemed to be a decent base that was fairly clean and arranged logically with helpful Staff everywhere I went. And, it must be noted, the Locals I met out and about seemed to be pleasant (or maybe the term should be tolerant?) to myself and my cohorts, either in or out of uniform.
Again, I'm just adding my 2 cents....

No man needs. Drain tons of kerosene daily over the surrounding villages and over the Palatinate Forest. Our occupiers and we are still paying. The people themselves are okay but the military does not need anyone here.
Was sucks.

Anyone who rated this with 5 stars, is to drive yourself to these countries and with their own eyes see how the Axis of Evil aka. Old, women, children, sleeping, loving and desperate to be murdered there on perfiedeste way!

High-quality nuclear missiles, but unfortunately the people in the combat drones have not strengthened the compensator qualitatively enough.
In addition, the F-35 fighters are too expensive and better available elsewhere

"NATO AGRESSIONS BASE" would be the more appropriate name for this place !!! A shame that our government supports the Americans in the killing of civilians, participated in their wars of aggression and then financed it with our taxpayer money !!!

The US military is doing great!

The US military is doing great!

I would like to thank all US soldiers who are stationed not only in Miesenbach but also in other parts of Germany and who protect us from international terrorism and the countries that are part of the "axis of evil". Thank you for preserving and defending the values, freedom and democracy of the western world.

Thank you U.S. Ramstein Air Base!

God bless you and god bless america!

A great place to drive a tank, clean toilets, unhealthy American food, and even to watch as prisoners are tortured. Thumbs up for this great experience. Our youngest was even allowed to drive an unknown drone. One does not even believe what destruction a single rocket can do in a market. Well we did not have to clean the meat pudding so deserved 5 stars. Keep it up God save America!
