I can not say enough good things about Presbyterian!! My son was treated with the up most urgency, respect and care!! We were kept informed and updated on his emergency surgery, during surgery and post op care!! From the moment we walked into the door, the staff made us feel very comfortable!! This place is extremely clean, professional, caring, friendly staff!! This place is TOP notch in my opinion!!

Very friendly nurses and therapist. Genuinely concerned about your health problems. Even got a heath supplier to donate a 490.00$ dual value voice prosthesis for my wife to try which she uses now. Saves us a 2 hr trip to Pitts once a week. Now only have to go every 2 to 3 months. Just wish our insurance would pay for it.

to bad they dont have negative stars because I would give this a minus 5. This is the worst hospital I have ever seen. My husband was taken there, for a motorcyle accident. He was having trouble breathing and still had to lay in ER for 6 hours. They tell family members nothing, he was there four days and not one time did I see or even get to talk to a doctor. I would ask and always get told, someone would talk to the family, that never happened. They did surgery on him, and the family was not even told what they were doing surgery on. Turned out to be broken bones. (my husband told me this, not a doctor) They wanted to send him to a rest home, for a broken ankle! He refused and brought him home. No discharge papers, so we have no idea who we need to see next or even the name of the doctor.

Ive stayed at this hospital a few times in my life. Two of the times were spent overnight in the ICU post op section of the hospital. The family room rarely has people in it, which was nice for sleeping overnight. Wake up early if you are staying here and catch beautiful sunrises. You are probably there for a stressful and emotionally difficult reason, and these sunrises bring a little bit of beauty to the experience.

This hospital has always been highly accommodating. Its probably the best hospital Ive ever come across.

Went to Heart and Vascular Institute of UPMC for chest pain. Doctor hardly spent any time talking to me. Seemed rushed and uninterested. Sent me for a scan and my UPMC health plan insurance made me pay a large co-pay for it. Doctor didn't even call me back with results. Had to call his office several times before they told me test was negative and "nothing was wrong with my heart". If I had a choice (UPMC health plan doesn't give me one) I wouldn't go there again. IMHO the banner outside about "best Hospital" is a myth.

I saw Emily R. Clark twice at UPMC-Oakland for my dermatology concerns and she treated me so very rudely both times. She left me in the dark and always made me feel like I was not even worth more than 1 second of her day. The wait time was very long. She seemed unhappy whenever I wanted to ask her any questions or speak about any concerns I had, and I only asked two. It made me feel like I was stupid and made me feel insecure to continue asking about my concerns. After answering, she'd just exit the door. There were many times I had to stop as she was leaving to ask her any questions because she would just pop in, glance over my face, and rush out the door after saying one comment about prescriptions. She was the reason why I started to be apprehensive and nervous to see doctors, specifically dermatologists, because I thought they would all treat me like this, and make me feel stupid. This was my first time seeing a dermatologist.
However, after a year, I decided to see another dermatologist in the same department and they were so kind and welcomed me to ask any questions or talk about any concerns about my skin condition and the medication they prescribed. I was so pleasantly surprised. It was so different from the way Emily treated me. I didn't rate Emily on the two UPMC surveys I got sent because I did not know that this is not how doctors are like normally. I figured it was because I am a student so doctors don't need to really spend more than 1 minute of their time with you, but that is not the case. I want everyone to know how permanently insecure she made me feel about dermatology visits, and I read some other reviews online and they say similar things.
By the way, this is not my real name because I am afraid that this review will get the hospital angry and not let me schedule more visits to this hospital.

The staff was awesome at the Cath lab !!!!! The bathrooms near the Cath lab and the waiting rooms there were filthy, coffee pots gross. What happened to cleaning staff? We took pictures and complained, one room had the sheets and blankets for sleeping family on the floor stacked around a table.A nurse from the Cath lab came in for coffee came back and cleaned it herself.Very sad, someone's not supervising the cleaning staff overnight, maybe day also.

Terrible hospital. No communication to patients. Wait times are atrocious, and staff is not friendly. I'd you schedule and appointment in the morning, be prepared to take off the rest of the day. It would be one thing if this information was related to you during the schedule of the appointment, not when you show up.

Very unhappy with the care that my mother in law received at this facility in the ER. They offered her very little care and when it was time for her to leave they refused to help her pay for a taxi to get home. They forgot about her and made her wait for hours until finally the social worker came out and gave her a bus pass. I live in Texas and was unable to pick her up. It was 4am and no one nearby was able to pick her up either. She has never rode the bus and wasn't even sure where the closest bus stop was to her apartment. When she asked if they would help her pay for a taxi since she didn't have any money and has very bad hips that make it difficult for walking they told her they couldn't because she doesn't have Medicaid. No, instead she has their UPMC insurance! How absurd! They were cold and callous to a very sweet and ill woman. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm embarrassed for your facility. Luckily I was able to arrange transportation for her. She will never be returning here again and no one else I know will either if we can help it.

I m a out of towner visiting my Aunt whom was on the 8th floor when I was sent down to the emergency area to get a work excuse but somehow the lady MACKENZIE was very rude due to the fact that they don t do work excuse notes but I was sent there by nurses on the 8th floor. Mackenzie took it upon herself to get smart with me which started a altercation between us two. I asked to speak with manager which she refused to get instead got another employee named Sarah. Which Sarah wasn t no good either. She ended up leaving didn t even care. I was told by Sarah that the nurses on the 8th floor stay sending people to the emergency room for work excuses. I apparently stated that they re not taking you guys serious then. However I had to go back up to the 8th floor to get an excuse by Doctor Hudson in the Neurosurgery which should had been done the first time when I asked. This hospital and what they did that day was very unprofessional and unorganized. Instead of just giving me a work excuse they told me to go down to the emergency room. I though this was the way this Pittsburgh hospital operates which was new to me because hospitals I go to back home give work excuses without no problem instead of going to the emergency room.

Caroline Davis at the desk in the Family Surgery Lounge is absolutely fabulous, fantastic, cares deeply about family members and has the patience of a saint. Her sense of humor is priceless. She got my daughter and me through a very tough day. I hope she sees this review and knows the importance of her presence. Thank you Presby for Caroline.

Our son was a patient in the MICUF for 9 days, and his condition was so grave, he passed. The attendant staff were compassionate and heroic , doing every possible treatment to save him, then ultimately to give him the utmost care and comfort to support him as he peacefully journeyed home to his Lord and Savior. We will always remember the sterling care and kindness of the staff and Physicians at UPMC. Our burden of grief was eased by your attentive care and love for our son.

Customer service in the parking lot is greatly lacking. There are attendants questioning why you re parking in the garage at the entrance. They leaned in to look into my car. I felt like I was going through customs. The interaction was aggressive and uncomfortable. If I m paying to park at your facility I shouldn t have to undergo questioning at first. I could potentially understand the attendants during events at the university but mid day on a Monday is overkill.

I wish zero stars were an option because that is what UPMC Presbyterian ER deserves. After being there for 10 hours for a horrible infection in my mouth, I received 2 very small doses of oxycodone by mouth the entire duration of 10 hours. After the maxillofacial resident spent 45 minutes cutting and stitching up my face, and seeing how visibly upset and in pain I was he left stating someone would be in to discharge me and give me something for the pain. I have maybe been to the ER 3 times in my entire life and therefore never take pain medication unless absolutely necessary. The ER resident Alison Moynihan who had never spoken to me or examined me because her shift had just started, walked in, stated her name and title and began scolding me stating I had already received 2 doses of pain medication that day. Being an RN I am aware of what medication and dosage I received and that it was an extremely small dose. She told me to go home and take NSAIDs and use heat and walked out. I have never left an ER in more pain than when I came in. I left embarrassed, stunned, and so visibly upset by the treatment I had just received. If this is how they train their residents to treat people, than UPMC is not the great medical giant I believed it to be. I would not send my dog to this ER. Go to AGH or in fact ANYWHERE else. If you deny people medication who are truly in need, then you have no business being in the medical field. They should be ashamed to have residents like Alison Moynihan on their staff. She is certainly no asset to their team.

The doctors and nurses were very helpful and they took excellent care of me after my car accident that resulted in back surgery to my L1 vertebra. In which Dr. Shaw placed 2 metal rods with a metal plate and 8 screws with fixed my back so I could walk again.

My brother is currently in the ICU and they've had a Covid-19 scare and transferred him to another unit.

When I asked why the transfer took place? I was told due to needing a consolidation of patience. They were having difficulty with staffing then I saw the news report.

ALSO due to Covid-19 only 1 person from the family is assigned as a liaison... understandable. I have been trying to get more information than my liason can answer and have been promised Zoom meetings and phone calls but nothing as of day 3.

When you call I can only speak with the head nurse on duty. They are cordial but no Zoom or call from a doctor. Goodness forbid I upset the only person communicating with me inside the hospital by being persistent about the call or meeting.

ICU patients family members must have better opportunity to gain information. All I hear once a day is he opened his eyes briefly or moved a hand on command from a family member. I need more details. Important milestones, how do they know he doesn't have Covid-19 when he has beginnings of pneumonia, etc?

Covid-19 is here the hospital has had 5 months to establish procedures.

Ok

I want to give a huge shout out to the Cath Lab at UPMC Presby. My mother in law needed a heart procedure there and Dr Schindler and the cath staff did an outstanding job for her. They are extremely professional and caring with their patients. They treated my mother in law wonderfully. She had a little problem and showed such expertise & compassion in handling her issue. I would give them all a 10 out of 10 if I could. I would recommend UPMC Presby as an excellent, caring hospital! Their cardiac floor was also excellent! The nurses and aides also treated my mother in law with compassion & caring. They understood her issues, were very thoughtful and couldn't have been nicer. I would also give them a 10 out of 10!!! Thank you UPMC Presby for having such kind, compassionate and caring doctors, nurses and aides making such important work look so easy!!!

I have had to deal with the radiology department scheduling for over a year now scheduling tests for patients at my practice. Every time I try to schedule something no one ever know what I am scheduling for my patient. I get transferred several times before someone knows what I need. Today I was on hold for 23 minutes until I got so upset I hung up.

I have been there for six outpatient procedures and a few tests. So far everyone I have dealt with, from the valet parking attendants (which I highly recommend for $8)to all the nursing staff, has been very professional and very friendly. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Jazwinski and all her colleagues.

I had brain surgery at Presby. I was only 17 and scared. The doctors and nurses were awesome. They made me feel like everything was fine. I am now 36 yrs old n fine :) if I had to have surgery again, it would definitely pick Presbyterian.

This has to be the most amazing Hospital if you ever need to be treated the doctors and nurses are on top of everything they do a thorough check to make sure they don't miss anything recently went to the ER I can't say enough about how good I was treated hands down the best hospital!

The people are nice, but plan on spending the entire day here if you're coming for a procedure. Here supporting my wife for my mother-in-law's surgery, she was supposed to have a 2 hour procedure startimg at 10am. Finally after 12pm she was taken in. Now we sit in the Family Lounge and were told to "hold tight for the doctor" since she was in recovery he would be here soon. That was over an hour ago.

Terrible service, UPMC is too big for it's own good. I only give 2 stars because the people who work here are mostly nice.

My husband got lifeflighted to presby Wednesday 7-15-20 from weirton he was on a vent and sedated and wasn't breathing on his own from the time they landed at presby till the time he went home on 7-18-20 they did everything possible to save my husband I will never go anywhere else then upmc he was in icu for 2 days his nurse taylor and the one that was there when he got on the floor did everything to get me updated as to what they were doing and keeping me updated on how he was the only thing that made me upset was the fact that they were supposed to of called me and told me they were moving him and they never did he went in for an accidental overdose and found a blood cot and pneumonia he is now home and if it wasn't for them he wouldnt of made it thank you all so much nurses drs and the er and even lifeflight

Jon David, my son, age 33, has been here in MICU9 for over three weeks now, critically ill with need of a double-lung re-transplant. From the doctors to the entire MICU staff, their professionalism, kindness, dedication and (nothing short of) love for Jonathan's survival has moved my heart time and time again. How can we ever express our appreciation for their commitment! We all hope and pray together that a donor will be offered in time, but at this point, I can only say to UPMC: Thank you for giving and being the best.

I went to a UPMC Urgent Care facility a few months ago with a throat infection, and the doctors and nurses were about what you would expect - competent and helpful. They are the only reason this review has two stars instead of 1, and were I to review them alone it would be a 4 or 5 star review. The reason it's much lower is because of the billing. I had UPMC insurance and went to a UPMC facility, paid the co-pay they asked for, and was told that it would cover everything. I made sure to ask if there was anything additional that might be billed since I was about to be out of town for work for an extended period and I was told no, everything was taken care of. When I came home a few months later I found bills, past due notices, and letters from the collection agency that they handed the account over to. I also found out that the collection agency has been calling my parents at their house at a number I never gave UPMC to try to collect from them, but at no time did UPMC ever think to call me (my phone number is on the paperwork that they've sent me a couple times). Today I went to the office I visited in May and showed them the paperwork, they said it looked like a billing error and to send it to the customer service department, when I called them to find out the address was they were insistent that the charge was correct and refused to stand behind what I was told at their office. They were sure to remind me that the collection efforts would continue until I paid them what was due.

What's the total amount of the additional bill that caused them to go through all of this? $20

If I were not working for Pitt at the time I would never have signed up for UPMC insurance, and I regretted it the entire time I had it. Between billing messes like this and prescriptions that were covered under Highmark but completely denied (not more expensive, but flat out denied) under UPMC I would have been better off staying on COBRA and declining the UPMC insurance.

If you have a choice, go elsewhere.

Terrible communication!!! We could not see or determine the status of my brother who was transferred to Presbyterian for emergency surgery on Christmas eve. We had no idea what was going on when he got transferred. We called Presby at 3:00am, they said he was in the ER. When we traveled through the inclement weather to the ER and went through the security / metal detector they said he was in ICU. When we went back through security to the main entrance we were told he was going TO surgery and we were sent to the surgerical family lounge. When we got to the lounge we called the designated number, they said he was OUT of surgery and a Dr will come see us...after 45 minutes of waiting we called again, they said "I didn'the happen see the Dr so I'll come get you and take you see your brother". When we got to ICU they said he needed to be prepped which would take 15 minutes. After 15 minutes we called and were told he was still with the surgical team. After 90 minutes inside the hospital without any concrete information we left to travel home on untreated snow covered roads. Unbelievable.

I would not send a wounded cat here, and I dislike cats! No one takes responsibility for actions, patients suffer due to their lack of care and concern. I have been a nurse for over 30 years and would not recommend this place. Horrible and dangerous!

No communication between doctors and nurses. No communication between doctors and family.

I was the contact person for a close friend without close family that had a brain tumor partially removed. I was told I would receive a call from the neurologist notifying me how the surgery went. I never received the call, so I called and spoke to a nurse and was told the call was in the surgical notes I was ment to get the it and told I would get a call from the doctor the next day. Jump forward a week and I have spoke to a few nurses but after many calls and two visits have never managed to speak to a doctor.

Told one thing well they do another.

So today I talk to a nurse and I'm told they are transferring to inpatient rehabilitation morning, I receive another call three hours later (8:00pm) by a doctor (the first time one has contacted me) and told they are releasing and would like the patient picked up tonight. I live two hours away and she is offend when told it will have to wait till the next day, apparently she thought I could magically appear in the next 20 minutes and walk out the door with him.

Spoke with my friend and he is worried because he was told he need inpatient rehabilitation to become as close to a 100% as he can be earlier in the day.

There seems to be some major communication problems between shifts and between doctors and nurses. There also seems to be a total disregard for the patients will, I was given POA, listed as the only Emergency Contact, and was the only person notification was supposed be given to. Seems the doctors couldn't be bothered to give the calls they assured him prior to surgery they would.

Being about the same distance from Cleveland and Buffalo, if myself or someone in my family requires care I will probably look there first.

This was my first visit to UPMC presby and although I'm familiar with the high quality of care my experience with the emergency room security staff is absolutey horrid the unsympathetic attitude is unexcusable the security supervisor might want to school the staff on showing a little compassion towards people who might be on the process of losing a loved one

I was treated poorly I think because of a confrontation with a racist rude doctor who retaliated by putting slanderous fasle things in my record/chart to smear my reputation with future doctors who would access my chart. He was smug, rude, jerk..

My wife had a total colectomy today at UPMC Montefiore with Dr. Medich. The surgery went well and I can not say enough about Dr. Medich and the staff at UPMC Montefiore. Every single nurse that we have encountered has been friendly, accommodating, and most of all, competent. We are so thankful that we chose to have this procedure done at UPMC and grateful to the staff here at Montefiore. I plan to sing the praises of the people here to anyone who will listen.

Nothing to like... left my mothers dinner tray where she couldn't reach it after calling twice for help staff came in 35 minutes later and said they couldn't understand her over the intercom... so ignoring her was the answer.. general questions for the nurse like when does she get a dressing change to her incidion site are there any particular restrictions how many screws were placed during surgery were left with the answer of I dont know. Just received a text stating they have 1 nurse and 3 aides the nurse has a bad back left her sitting on the side of her bed for 40 minutes then was told they don't have time to get her up to go to the bathroom she will be using a bedpan.. REALLY?? She is not allowed to sit for more than 20 minutes at a time for a total of 3 times a day...A BEDPAN??? She has a 10 inch incision on her back and you want her to use a bedpan?? We WILL NEVER USE THIS HOSPITAL... I am in healthcare and this is a disgrace. Only one staff member has been accomodating and showed any compassion. I could say more..... DISGRACE

Dr. Gruen is the best doctor I have ever met. He is very knowledgeable in his field. My daughter went in with a bone infection that almost caused the amputation of her leg. Dr. Gruen said he would do everything he could to save it, and after 4 operations he did manage to save it. And after each operation when he came to talk to me, he spoke in language I could understand. I would recommend Dr. Gruen to anyone that needed an orthopedic surgeon.

I'm embarrassed that this hospital is under the "UPMC" name. I NEVER had issues with any other UPMC facility as I did this one. My daughter is 19 years old and had to have major back surgery. The nurses and staff on 5G have treated her terribly. I have never seen anything like it. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone nor will my family ever come back here. Not only have they been rude to her but they have neglected her care. Don't choose this hospital or allow another hospital choose this hospital for you. I regret it.

I am currently a patient on 5G at UPMC Presbyterian. I have been cared for by an incredible group of caring, hardworking , focused people who take their jobs seriously. I am impressed with their competency and expertise. Thanks to all who care for patients on this unit. You are some of the best. JLW

HORRIBLE! NO COMMUNICATION! Hospital is dirty. Staff take up for each other. If your loved one can't talk, do not send them there. Chief doctor tells family he doesn't understand what the other doctors are saying when they talk to him. NEURO ICU SUCKS! Family could be dead and you wouldn't even know it. The bathrooms on floor and family room nasty. My mom got blisters and bed sores from staff not turning her. August 12-30 2016 was the worst days because of this stay here. I can go on and on

Actually, the staff are professional. I mean everybody. They looked after me very well indeed. I would recommend Dr. Paul Gardner the neurosurgeon, Dr. Snyderman the Otolarygologist and Dr. Challinor the endocrinologist.

My husband was on the 10th floor west of Montefiore. We are waiting for him to be discharged. The day shift nurse claimed she didn't know he was being d/c'd. Now the home health company says they can't have his IV antibiotics there in time and he may have to stay at the hospital for another day. Such a mess!!!

They cancelled my sleep study twice because they promised a room they didn't have. Didn't bother to call and tell me the first time. Missed days of work because of it. I finitely get here at 8 this morning and told me it will only be a few hours. The person in my room is waiting on a ride. That was 6 hours ago. Now they take someone in who just got here an hour ago into a room before me. I flipped out. They told me it will only be a couple more minutes for your room. That was 30 minutes ago. They lie, they are completely unorganized and the one lady working had no clue what to do our what was going on. If I could I'd give it no star...... Terrible

This wonderful place saved my mom. She had a severly botched gallbladder surgery at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. The surgery caused her to bleed and she went into hemorrhagic shock AND multiple organ failure. She was lifeflighed to UPMC Presbyterian and within one hour they took out a very large infected hematoma. They had to stop multiple bleeding sites caused by this horrible Wheeling surgeon. After a total of 14 Units of blood and albumin, dialysis, and assisted ventilation she was saved. Kidneys are now working again thanks to UPMC and lungs almost healed as well. The trauma surgeons and trauma ICU staff at UPMC is simply amazing. Absolutely incredible. She spent a whole month in this great hospital because we were afraid of sending her back to Wheeling until she was 100% in the clear. Wheeling is not set up for trauma and the other two hospitals in our area closed due to bankruptcy. UPMC is a gem and I only wish we were blessed in Wheeling with this caliber of hospital and staff.

Came in through the er on the 19 of feb. The waiting room had almost no wait. I think I spent 15 min from the time I got in, filled paper work, and got into triage. The nurse was in we within min. And the dr shortly followed. I was admitted within the hour. Transferred to the 10 E unit. All nurses was nice. Everyone kept me informed with what was going on. I feel they went above and beyond to figure out what's going on with me. I have lot of complications from my crohns disease and they listened to what I had th o say. Foods good. Hospital is clean. I've spent 4 days here. Would recommend it to anyone

Was at mercy for a month and while there any issue I had was dealt with promptly but here at presby I press the button and wait at least an hour if not longer. Usually takes 2 or 3 times hitting the call button before I even get a response. I had open heart surgery and am on I'v antibiotics so I am not supposed to do things like get out my chair and back in bed without help. Well I've waited 90 minutes for help now pressed the call button twice and finally just unhooked the monitors myself and climbed in bed. This place has the worst response time of any hospital I've been in and I'm stuck here 6 more weeks

UPMC Presbyterian is known for their excellent Surgeons, but today this 5 star rating goes out to two special people. McKenzie my husband's night turn nurse. She went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. McKenzie was his guardian angel during a very stressful situation. Also, Michael my valet. Who not only did a great job delivering my vehicle he noticed I pulled over to look for something in my car. He came over to make sure I was ok and helped me search and locate my item. Thank you both for your premier service.

UPMC Fails Another Child - My 10 year old daughter...

UPMC Fails Another Child - My 10 year old daughter was injured in a soccer game 10 days ago. She was bulled over on the field and landed awkwardly on her wrist. Went to CHP North for an Xray. They did an exam, took an X-ray which they then had to have someone at another location read. Was told "Great News - no break. Wrist is just sprained." Sold me a splint and sent us on our way. 10 days later after my daughter continues to complain of pain we take her to a specialist after picking up the Xray. Specialist looks at Xray for 30 seconds and see the break. This hospital does not care about providing quality care. They only care about making money and 'processing procedures' to create bills for the patients they treat like cattle. The entire organization has lost it's way and purpose for being. STOP GOING TO UPMC AND CHP

Was there because of back pain. Had a Green Peace Dr that accused me of being on drugs and even went so far as to accuse me of having drugs in my purse. We got into an argument, I of course denying that I had drugs and he insisting I did. Finally I told him to bring a nurse into the room to babysit me and get a police officer in there to check my purse. I was beyond angry. My purse was on the bed next to me. He said there was no need, he could see the drugs from where he was standing. I said WHAT are you talking about? He pointed to my pack of Salems (cigarettes) then launched into a ten minute brow beating on the dangers of cigarettes and how they ARE drugs and I AM using drugs by smoking them. I got dressed the second he left and walked out. I never went back to any UPMC facility since that day. I switched to Allegheny Health Network and love it. My Drs are wonderful. I hate UPMC. I wish I could give ZERO stars.

I'm so disappointed in the care, communication and miss treatment of this hospital. Some staff members keep me informed of my dads condition some dont. There is a lot of miscommunication between staff members. They all tell me different things. No one seems to know what is suppose to happen. They are moving my dad all over the hospitals risking exposure to god only knows what. He is very sick and cant handle catching anything else. No one keeps me as informed as they promise and he has a new doctor everytime I turn around.

Absolutely horrible patient communication. Nobody knows what s going on. Surgery was scheduled this morning, cancelled with no notice, wouldn t even have known if the nurse hadn t made a phone call asking about whether she should give certain medications. No communicating between different teams of doctors, no cohesive care plan. No consideration at all for worried family members. I would not recommend this hospital at all.

My father was taken here after he was in a motorcycle accident. The nurses were vvere very rude, They would throw equipment on top of my father when he was in extreme pain. Another nurse tried pulling my father out of bed by grabbing his legs and swinging them over the edge of the bed, he started coughing and the nurse started slapping his back (He has 6 broken ribs, a broken collar bone, a broken shoulder, and a punctured lung) and then she respond back " Oh my bad i didn't know, nobody told me" His knees are raw down to the bone and they don't even have them bandaged up. Considering this hospital is the dirtiest hospital I have ever seen, they should keep wounds covered up (They need to consider air born viruses) This place is disgusting,if you have a choice, DO NOT come here!

As a big fan of UPMC Children s Hospital, I find Presbyterian to not be on par with the UPMC way. Needs serious upgrades, the staff is okay but not always caring oriented. Parking is terrible especially for disable people. Doctors seem to be the only good thing about this hospital, everything else is just ehhh.

I have a special needs adult son and he was treated like he didnt matter. THE only person that acted like he needed care was jim the respiratory therapist in icu G he is the one that kept telling the drs my son needed to stay on icu. The drs kept wanting to transfer him to a regular floor and his oxygen level kept going in the 80''s due to pneumonia. Now its 11:00 pm and icu calls and says they are transporting him to montifiore hosp because they need the bed. I'm not there to advocate for my non verbal son since im not permitted to stay in ICU......lesson learned....never again for this place!!!!

I have been seeing Dr. John Moosy for years now and I could not be happier. Dr. Moosy and his PA Kathy are two of the nicest and most knowledgeable people I have ever been treated by. I had surgery yesterday and once again Dr. Moosy was amazing but besides him the entire surgical staff as well as pre and post op staff were amazing. As someone who has been treated by multiple Drs since I was 16 there have been few who have been excellent. Dr. Moosy, Kathy, (Neurologist) Dr. Zaslow (Urologist) at Morgantown and Dr. Scheinvogol (Urologist) at Baylor hospital in Dallas to me are on the mount Rushmore of Doctors. If you will be needing anything I strongly recommend UPMC Prebityrian. As far as my own experience (which again goes back years) you cannot go wrong.

This hospital is a little rough at night. It's hard to go from parking lot to hospital after hours. Having said that the staff is very friendly. They are very helpful and patient with you to help you understand what's going on in your treatment. They are very experienced with the work they do. They are able to make you comfortable while working on you.
