alot of people dropped out since they force strict regulations on you and constantly harass you with the senior project and lower your gpa due to huge numbers of tests.....

Solid educators leading an excellent program to make the students excel. It is super hard, massive amounts of work, and lots of pressure, but a great community.

This is my school and I honestly think it's great it has great teachers and everything is just awesome

This School has great sports programs, coaches are dedicated and want the players to succeed. Also compete with local high schools in the area.

UPA, what can I say, it's a tough school. I enjoy it though, it gives a sense of accomplishment when you finish all the assignments. There are a few problems that are of relation to the dress code where it is overly strict especially on special event days like graduation. There are resources at the school for anyone needing them. Overall the school says what it's going to do up front and is generally good at sticking to that.

A school for students who wish to improve, but are not afraid to work hard. UPA offers many AP classes and boasts some of the best math and science teachers in the bay area. The staff truly cares for the students, and always has their best interest in mind. Many of the people that review this school poorly like I did in the past are angry with some of the policies or actions of the administration, and I see their points. Our school had a few bad hires over the years, but they quickly sorted them out. Many of the issues that the administration faces are impossible tasks, like hosting a soccer team without a field, or having a cafeteria in a small stand. For a small charter school with a plan to help kids prepare for college, UPA exceeds expectations.
