I am glad I picked this school; the town is quaint with an active community, people stay on the weekends and there is a lot to do, the price is low, and I have had great experiences with my professors. I was a biology major for my first year and a half, then I switched to education. In both fields I had some wonderful professors, some who I still maintain a good professor-to-student relationship. The school is very well-rounded with many opportunities to get involved. I enjoyed intramurals, on-campus clubs, and met people and learned about others by going to events and taking advantage of the unorganized fun things to be found around Eau Claire if you explore a little bit.

A pretty good school location in mid-size city. The staff is professional, friendly and the education is decent for an UW school. I would recommend coming here because the size, location and the job I received out of college was great. Also, the landscape and area is so pretty all year around.

This campus is full of people who work hard and think about their students. I taught several years at a large research school, where undergraduates are largely burned as fuel for graduate programs. UWEC is the farthest thing from this. I see most faculty members constantly meeting with students, preparing lessons, organizing student research projects, and grading. I'm glad to work with these people.

People spent a long time ragging on professors as crazy in other comments, but they have a doctorate in most cases for a reason and just because their ideologies do not agree with your own is not enough justification to call a person crazy unless you are uneducated yourself. With a critical and positive perspective a lot of the professors offer interesting perspectives and are willing to help you greatly if you actually engage them rather than scoffing at their thoughts. The nature of the area is also beautiful and we have a few new buildings in Centennial and the Davies' center that are pretty swaggy. More collaboration between the school and the community would be nice, as the police often seem very into busting innocuous student parties, writing tickets, and from a known case of a friend, tackling drunk students.

Awful for transfer students. I came from a community college, and the transfer counselor said my credits would transfer one way, then "whoops" 14 of them didn't. Professors do NOT care about you and some are downright psychotic. I had one professor screw up a final grade by 3 letters, and then wouldn't answer emails or phone calls. I had to take it to the chair of the department-who changed my grade to a B but still wouldn't give me the grade I earned (an A) and refused to explain himself. My advisor misadvised me and told me to take 2 classes I literally didn't need. Not for GE's or anything. Nor did he tell me about the degree audit until it was too late for me to get into the classes I actually did need. This is a good school if you have absolutely no credit earned coming in, aren't a science major, like to party, and are okay being in a city where there's nothing to do. Everybody goes home on the weekends. So excited to be transferring out.

I love going to school here! They made my transfer process easy and accepted more credits than I expected. My advisor has been amazing, my department is outstanding, and I haven't had an issue with any faculty to date. I wish people knew how many resources are available on campus, I wish I had them at the first college I went to! They do all they can (with the cards they're dealt) to improve the experience of their students. College is NOT cheap, but I feel like I get my money's worth here. having multiple sources of coffee on campus is amazing! Some of the buildings aren't as great as the others, but I guess that's to be expected with a campus that's been here for 100 years. The constant construction gets pretty annoying, but luckily it doesn't interfere with my day too much. The campus is beautiful, making those long walks not SO unbearable. What I don't like is how spread out the campus is. There's really 3 sections of campus, and when you only have 10mins to get from up the hill to the water street buildings, it feels just about impossible! Also, the updates in some buildings are way over the top when some of the older buildings actually need basic renovations. HAAS and HSS don't have accessible or gender neutral bathrooms, or enough stalls in either building, yet Davies has 30 stalls on their upper floor that's hardly used.

Definitely starting to grow on me as a current student. The one thing lacking which ultimately will eventually force me transfer out is a formal college of engineering. Staff I've delt with so far are excellent. Plenty of clubs and student organizations on campus. Lots of opportunities if you put in the effort. The city of Eau Claire is constantly growing and developing, and campus is 5 minutes from downtown. Free city bus service for all students is a huge plus. Premium meal plan is $1400, which equates to roughly $15 per day over the whole semester for unlimited access to all-you-can-eat buffet style dining at the hilltop center.

It's a good university in a decent town. Graduating from here, I did get an excellent job out of state and second job in state. The campus is beautiful along the river and the staff is excellent. I would recommend going here for a good degree.

University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire is one of the most beautiful campuses in the UW system! Eau Claire is an artsy, green, friendly, and active community of people. I adore this university and all it has to offer for students. I have had wonderful professors and enjoyed living both on and off campus. There are tons of organizations and clubs to get involved in. This is truly a liberal arts college and it is nice having a variety of different cultures and backgrounds. I would recommend this university to anybody and know it will only grow and welcome more students as time passes!
