Worse hospital to ever consider going to even if my life depended on it! Staff was very rude and unprofessional to me and my pregnant wife and we were involved in a wreck. This place does not have a sense of urgency at all!!!While waiting in the ER for assistance a lady was experiencing a mental health crises and nurses and health physicians were walking by laughing at the woman s distress and not taking the situation serious.
Was well taken care of. Hated how the Drs belittled the nurses, needs better communication between the two. Nurses were amazing.
The emergency room is ridiculous. No one should have to wait for 5 hours or more. Severity takes precedence over emergency room patients. UMMC needs to fix this situation. They needs doctors for the emergency room and doctors that focuses on traumas. It's really should be zero stars.
Update: we went back to the hospital for a different appointment and the elevator is still out of order in the garage B.. thank gosh my husband was able to get a spot near the entrance walk way. It's a pain toting a child who was sedated and all of our belongings up and down stairs. also while we were waiting for my child to be seen in a waiting area. My oldest saw a roach in the light. the staff was nice and gave us a remote for our oldest to watch TV, but the TV didnt work.. there was no signal. It cut out off and on (digital blocky looking) for a few minutes but then no signal the whole time we was there.
The Hospital is a joke. Dr.s change appointments not telling you, give wrong dates and often change just because they feel like it.
The parking garage B, so elevators were broken. We had to tote 2 kids & stroller down a flight of stairs. And parking places are to narrow for vehicles now days. So other people take up your spot and leave you no room to get out of your vehicle. I'm not exaggerating, I'm 5'6 and 115lbs
Also we have to visit this hosptial several times a year because sadly they're the only specialty doctors in the entire state of Mississippi. Nearly everytime we've been to the parking garage, a BLK lady was driving a super sized golf cart. She always drives away from us even when we had chase her down. But everytime she'll only have only BLk on it. One time she stopped and said something, I said oh thank goodness. We could use a lift. I had 4 children in tow by myself ( 2 were little ones). She said I wasnt talking you! I was talking to him and he(young BLK man) got on and she sped off. He and her were the only ones on it. By the time we finally made it to our car she had it loaded down but not with "us people" it's the same woman driving everytime.
I hope we never have to use this hospital again rudeness is beyond my husband was in a wreck he layed in ER 7 or 8 hrs finally a room he been in there almost a week the room is nasty keep asking them to clean but not yet. I do not care for this place at all.
i wouldent use that hospital or any others in mississippi if i was able too help it i wish i was able too give this hospital zero stars
Went to the ER yesterday and was treated like a criminal. Security had side pieces and wants to search you like you're going to rob the place or something. Security officer was rude and unhelpful at explaining why he needed me to set my things down. Not everyone is from here and doesn't know the rules of being searched before being seen. No hospital I've ever been to does that. Makes people feel like they're walking into a prison, not to get help.
I wouldnt recommend the Orthopedic Dept At UMMC.
Taylor Mathis saw me 2-3 times, never opened the computer to talk to me about my back instead spun around on the stool saying I cant find anything wrong with you.
The last time I saw him I said for the tenth time I cant do anything without hurting my self. He was asked to leave and send in a real doctor.
Kendal Blake came in and wanted me to bend over i said I cant I'm in too much pain i cant do anything without hurting myself.
he preceded to shove on my back with me resisting saying stop stop!
he put his hands in his pockets and said I'm not going to be able to evaluate you.
Jeramy Adams is on this list of Doctors that failed to examine me however the only thing he did the others didn't was look at my MRI.
He asked was I taking Meloxicam or Mobic for the inflammation i said no. I left with a prescription. Degenerative facet .
Everybody gets to Listen to Retire Neurosurgeon/ medical Expert testify I was less than sedentary 2013 2014 2015 and would have benefited from laminectomy each of these years.
The Doctors at UMMC have no candor.
