Three and a half years ago I underwent 38 proton therapy radiation treatments at UF Health Proton Therapy Institute to treat an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Today I'm virtually free of prostate cancer. But the real story is the treatment and the care that I received during my radiation treatments. From the receptionist at the front desk to each and every nurse and doctor and the highly trained and patient sensitive technicians who operate the proton units, their sole goal is to help each patient get through the procedures with as much care and comfort as possible at the same time ensuring the success of the treatments. The entire treatment process was culminated with me ringing the chimes right after my last treatment with all the technicians and nurses there to congratulate me and wish me nothing but continued good health. I owe my life to the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute

Excellent nurses, radiation therapists and oncologists who show a caring and professional attitude to their patients (all support staff do so as well). Located in a medical community (Jacksonville, FL) with many items of interest when not in therapy (fishing, sight seeing, professional football (Jaguars) etc. and many excellent restaurants as well. Great place to stay while in therapy only 5 minutes away (Third and Main Apartments) is another added benefit.

13 years prostate cancer free thanks to Florida Proton. Not only am I cancer free, I have had no residual side effects. The doctors, techs, nurses and staff are beyond amazing. Our experience during treatment was so uplifting and therapeutic. It was actually enjoyable. As I told my doctor one day, if I was not being told I was having proton radiation, I would not know it. Best decision I ever made for treatment!

This facility is totally patient/family focused. Professionalism combined with caring and empathy. The treatment produced minimal to no side effects and did not interfere with activities of daily living.

I am always impressed with the honesty of the physicians at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. They always spend as much time with a patient and their family as needed to answer all their questions. And they are always honest and upfront about treatment options. Thank you to these physicians and the team they have surrounding them who support those with cancer.

I was treated with caring and respect at UFPTI. My stay at Third and Main during my treatments allowed me to be around other patients and created a sense of community. I thank God for leading me to UFPTI and for the miracle of Proton Therapy.

I cannot say enough good things about Florida Proton.I received my treatments seven years ago in 2014.The caring staff makes all the difference to a person who is a little afraid of whats ahead.They were kind and had a smile on their faces every day.I had watched my father struggle with the bad results he received with seeds and external radiation years before.After doing my own research, I chose Florida Proton and am so happy with my decision.It took me 5 hours to get to Jacksonville from South Georgia ,this trip was the correct decision for me.I would be happy to discuss my treatments with anyone that would like more information.I have sent four happy men to Florida Proton and they are as pleased as I have been.

The best decision I made was having UFProton Treatment over other available treatments I read up on...From the Doctor., Nurses, and those doing the actual daily treatment , you could feel their concern... they even helped you with finding a place to stay...3d and Main was my home for 2 months...The results of my stay I couldn't be more pleased..

This team is the absolute best! I have had a very painless and easy treatment plan..minimal side effects. Barb, Dr. Brooks and the Red team therapists were incredible! If you should be diagnosed with breast cancer this is definitely the place to go!

The experience my wife N I shared during the 6 weeks of treatment as well as the work up exams n meeting were extraordinary. The caring Drs, technicians to even the receptionists made the experience so rewarding. They CARED everyday every minute. The entire time there all we saw were smiles n received only positive comments. Both my wife and I felt rather then being there being treated for cancer we were there for a vacation- hard to believe though it was true. I personally have spoken over the last 5 years to more then 50 people seeking treatment some chose other paths but for those who went each called me n said I was correct in all the praise we gave.
