parking has gotten worse over the years rather than better. Instead of a new arts center they should have made a better parking garage. Beatuful campus with a mixed bag of great and horrible teachers.
*Update*
Still have not fixed parking. Just build underground parking garages where the current lots are.

Could not ask for a better location! The campus is large enough that you can always meet someone new and small enough that by the end of your studies you feel like your part of a community. Not really a "party" school, but great base of operations for all the outdoor enthusiasts!

Fantastic place where the professors actually care about their students. The class sizes are small and you will learn a lot. The students are all very friendly and it is easy to find somewhere to fit in.

Remarkably unhelpful staff, a nightmare to park at, and the school's apparent fetish for fees borders on criminal. Don't even consider this place if you work full time, nearly every professor has an attendance policy permitting maybe 2 absences per semester. But, you think, maybe I'll learn something worthwhile if I go to class. Nope! Most of my time there was busywork, or teaching myself the material because to professors couldn't be bothered to. Seriously, there are so many better schools around, don't bother with this place.

I've been going here for 3 years now. I've had great professors, and I've enjoyed the classes very much. I just wish that they wouldn't advertise having classes when there isn't faculty to teach them. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful, and you get a great education for the price you pay.

Enrolling in a school shouldn't be more difficult than obtaining an actual degree. No one in their office answers their phones. They instead prefer to send them straight to voicemail. I am transferring from another school and after applying and getting accepted to 13 different colleges i should have picked any of the other 12. The low cost of tuition definitely reflects the service they provide.

The UCCS is underrated. This university is academy oriented. Its engineering section is notable and Electrical Engineering dept. is by far the most active in research fields. Scenic beauty is stunning. Staffs are cooperative too. One con is- if high altitude doesn't go with you, you should think again before coming here.

UCCS is a great school and best bang for your buck. Campus is nice and will continue to improve as construction finishes up. While the Freshmen and Sophomore classes are sometimes pretty large (usually the Science classes for me, others were pretty small), your Junior and Senior level classes are extremely small which allows you to connect with not only the instructors but students as well, which is often a problem in large classes. Graduating in May and do not regret my decision to come here.

A few tips of advise:
- Parking does SUCK, it may improve next year with the new parking garage. Either live on campus, come early, or park in the parking lot away from the campus and get a shuttle, no other way around it until they figure out a long term solution.

- Pay attention to your student portal when it comes to Financial Aid. Sometimes things may come up out of the blue without your knowledge. Also, it is best to talk to an ACTUAL staff member at Financial Aid. No offense to the student employees, they sometimes do not know what they are talking about and just assume things which can sometimes cause problems, do yourself a favor and talk to an actual staff member to get the best information or solution regarding a problem.

- Finally, if you do stay on campus, Summit Village, the Freshmen dorms, seems to be very active given the impression I have seen from it. On the other hand, Alpine Village is not very active in the social aspect. Hope you have good roommates and you should be set for the year, otherwise get involved with something because Alpine Village is like an actual apartment community, little to no interaction with one another.

This school has changed my life in some really great ways. I have had some amazing professors and I have gotten into some wonderful programs. Through my involvement on campus I have gotten access to some great connections throughout the community. It's a great place to go for a school, a great place to work, and a great place to spend some amazing college years! I highly recommend this school! I have gained so many resources and experiences through this school and I highly recommend it for anyone!
