Really a wonderful place to have a fun time for adults and older kids. Thought you could bring younger children here I think kids age six and up would appreciate this place more. The rides are great the food is surprisingly good and the over all experience is just fun filled! If you are going for just one day like me and my family I suggests getting express passes so you don't have to wait in line and can make the most of your time here.
amazing place to visit and see the special effects of movie making and others
Great place to visit a lot has changed over the years since the last time I came. Lots of different things to explore and see, always a great time coming here and enjoying your day.
The studio tour is very interesting. Less rollercoasters than in Orlando
Pinks Hotdogs...not as good as the original store. Hopefully it won't be there too much longer I hate to say.
So there are good rises here and line management is a bit better than other places ( ). It's a good place to hit up for about 2 days or so. Hit the Tour first thing so it's out if the way. Also, if you can single ride it, do it!!! Two of were able to go on Harry's Forbidden Ride 5 times in well under and hour. SINGLE RIDER LINE ALL DAY!!
Opted for the VIP tour. What a great experience. It will probably be the first and last time I go so I spent the money. Great food, tour guides, and sights. Well with the extra cost if you can afford it.
Universal is falling behind Disney in many ways. There aren't rollercoasters, only a couple of games worth it. If I was asked to pick between one or another, I'll choose Disney , however you can't deny that this places are amazing.
Universal is a lot of fun and has a lot of movie references and connections. If you like straight up roller coasters however, going to California Adventure would be better.
It was so much fun, we got to do exactly what we wanted to do and didn't have to stand in line for very long. Park was clean and beautiful.
It's really cool, make sure to get there as early as possible (gets very busy). Only regret was not seeing the walking dead, if you want to see it, it's open from 1:15-5:55. Really enjoyed Transformers, Simpsons and Jurassic World.
Wonderful. It's too bad that Jurassic park is being renovated. I wish there were more rides though.
Very very expensive. They dollar you to death. Add this for $$$ more to see this and this is extra$$. It was fun and my 13 yr old liked it, didn't love it.
This park was fun but is small compared to the one in Florida. Don't miss the studio tour, which was the best part of the park imo
Fun for the whole family, the rides are less of an adrenaline rush and more of a fun experience. The shows are also wonderful.
The staff all over the park were kind and all seemed happy to be at work. We felt more welcomed here than at Orlando. The Jurassic Park ride improvements are amazing! Thank you for not retiring Curious George. It was the highlight of my son's trip to San Diego (yes, we drove all the way up). So, of course, it was the highlight of our trip, as well.
Great visit and lots of fun. I was particularly impressed by the staff who were all very helpful and engaging. We spend almost all of our time in the Harry Potter area but it is fantastic!
I has gone there twice. I loved it. I went there with my family. I went to Harry Potter world. I rode the Transformers ride and the Jurassic Park ride. I had lots of fun there.
Parking is $27 Entry Xpress ticket is $189 General : $139 If you are US military $132 One time must visit place. But there are too many things to do. Based on my experience: 1. First do studio tour 2. Then go for ride.. Jurassic park, Mummy, Transformer..
Friendly staff, relatively clean park, wide variety of snacks and food, variety of entertainment/attractions for the whole family, awesome sound and light effects. Lines are a bit out of control. Especially when, for example, in the tour tram where they offer multilingual tours, I got in a line requesting other than English that just to my surprise had us over about an hour and a half at a standstill, while the English line was steadily walking up to the tram to be boarded. Then I noticed that it only took my friend to walk up to the front of the line to ask the employees when we were going to board the tram so that they'd let us go ahead and do so. This is open to any conclusions. Other than this unpleasant experience, I'd say I had an enjoyable time.
People friendly cain helpful my douther with special needs love it.
We had a blast with my babys! Will definitely be back!
Came for the 1st time. Not a whole lot of things to do as an adult. Did however enjoy The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Probably wont go again in the near future.
Great movie theme park. We were able to get on all the main rides/attractions as we went on a Thursday with no long waits. The longest wait was approx 40 min for the studio tour. The weather was perfect at 80, coming from Las Vegas.
Please open already, we miss coming here just lots of fun and wonders
Was considering to leave a 4 or 5 star experience but it was tainted by the mind tricking workers at Universal. In a nut shell, they brought down my guard by pretending to care about me by starting the conversation by asking where are you from? Then asked me to participate in a 40 minute survey. Yes, that s right, a whole 40 min survey (they did not tell me at first of course, they said it will only take a couple of minutes). After the survey, I thought they d show their appreciation by giving a gift (whether big or small) as a token of appreciation for holding people hostage in a room for 40 minutes. But NO, they just showed me out the door with a cheap thank you for your time . So some advice to Universal: 1) it s unethical to trick people into doing 40 min marketing surveys without letting them know what they are into. 2) it s even more unethical to not compensate their customers with anything when you let them miss their dinner time for your own marketing information gains Some advice to visitors: 1) Ignore any conversation with workers there if you don t want to do any long surveys
Worth a visit definitely. My fourth time doing the tour. staff needs to learn more about inclusiveness though
The ticket is expensive but absolutely worth it. This park offered an amazing experience and it ended up being one of the most memorable days of my trip to California. We loved all the rides we managed to try and we didn't have to wait too long for any of them, except for the Hogwarts one, but again it was definitely worth it (mind it was the middle of January: get a front of line pass if you're visiting on a busy day). Only issue we had was with the lockers at the Hogwarts ride. The locker room is pretty small and it gets very crowded very quickly, adding quite a few minutes to your line. It's the only thing that should be managed better. Everything else is spotless and and hi tech. The customer service is great and the merchandising you can buy there is top notch: even as an adult it's hard not to spend at least a few dollars on souvenirs, collectibles and memorabilia. Definitely try out the Butterbeer, even if you aren't a Harry Potter fan, it's delicious. A side note: as a smoker my only suggestion would be to add at least another smoking area. Two aren't nearly enough for such a huge park. But I understand I'm speaking for a minority here and it's not something that influenced my judgment. It still deserves 5 stars out of 5!
It's hard to not be impressed by how well organised this place is, with most of the production in the rides, the app, WiFi everywhere, etc. However the short openings hours loses this place a star! It's 140 USD to get in and we spent hours just queuing for food, snacks, rides and taking photos with mascots - can you at least stay open later than 6 pm? We only had time for part of the park, and then we were really rushing. Another minus point that almost all rides were 3D or screen based which gave several of us motion sickness. Would be good to have more rides like the mummy ride which was an actual roller coaster. Great staff, amazing decor (especially Hogwarts and Hogsmeade), and impressive studio tour!
Wonderful place to enjoy studios and ride bit you have to take fast pass or vip experience.
We had three day passes but for us that was too many days, the park can be done in one to two days. I also thought it was crazy that they didn't have a special parking pass for more than one day, so wa had to pay to park each day and that was pretty crazy! But for the most part we had fun!
Great rides and good food I only wish they had more attractions. The Harry Potter themed area was definitely the best part they really did a good job with it.
I just love going to City walk because my baby has a blast when we go she loves going in the water its so fun during summer we always get her pretzel, some candy and her bath bombs oh and of course a movie the theater is awsome with lean back chairs and all u can eat popcorn bring extra clothes cuz they will get soaked and bring their stuff animal and a cozy blanket when u watch a movie oh and make sure u use your coupon for the movie
It was fun, but there's not as much to do as places like six flags or Disneyland.
Even when I am not a fan of Harry Potter - a must to visit attraction. There is a lot of things to do there, you can fill a whole day only with this park. Very important to get there as early as possible if you do not like to stay in rows for hours (there is an option to buy fast track ticket, but it is an additional cost to already relatively expensive entry fee).
AMAZING!! I'm in love! Went yesterday with my family after 8 years and OMG it has changed so much! Went on every ride with no wait, as it was a week day and we got a bit of rain, but not bad. My favorite of all was the Harry Potter part, the cute village looked so real, especially with the weather being what it was, it fit the vibe! And the ride, a definite must! I took Dramamine about an hour before, and had a light breakfast, and I surprisingly did not get sick. It helps to close your eyes a bit here and there, I squinted on some parts Lol. Also Transformers and Mummy rides were beyond epic, and Kong Island on the tour was awesome! I cannot wait to go back, especially on a day like yesterday!
Really cool to visit and I'm really glad we went, but I'm in no rush to revisit anytime soon. Loved the transformers and Mummy rides, but the other rides felt repetitive. We found the staff not as friendly as they are in Disneyland and I hope the management can address that. Food choices and shows were great.
Had a great time but you do need at least 2 days to see it all
This Jurassic drive is very good and fun it s only 5 minutes but enjoyed. Aye for get in this ride is at least 1 hour. If you can get in the park at 8 am you will not stand in queue for long time . First take Jurassic ride then take bus tour then animal show you won t be disappointed
Very good place to visit for teens and adult but not so good so toddlers. Be ready to long line.
One of the most amazing places to visit in LA if you're a movie buff.
It's like the Orlando park but squished into one park. The view here is incredible and City Walk is also a better here. You can do the whole park in one day.
I loved the backstage tour and Harry Potter's land. I will definitely go back to Harry Potter's land and do the backstage tour again.
This is my second trip to Universal , and my first was to Universal in Orlando, so I will compare these two first and foremost. The GOOD thing about Universal in Los Angeles is the studio tour, and it was really great to see the workplace of many of the greats in Hollywood. However the rest of the park was not as impressive as Universal in Orlando. The Harry Potter world there is twice the size and also has the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster. I missed those parts a lot. Also I wish they could be more upfront and charge less since many rides were under maintenance in the low season. It is quite expensive when so many rides don't work. But all in all you can't really go wrong when you visit Universal. Looking forward to my next trip.
Fun day, except for staff towing our wheelchair away causing us to go back and get it. How could they do that? Staff and management needs sensitivity training and customer service. Requested refund, no deal! Almost ruined our day but we made the best of it!
The cast members are always so nice and make the day for us at the park! The Brooklyn section [ I think that's what it is call ] where the cast members talk from the window are the best part!! Butterbeer is a must and a regular beer at Moe's.
Great place to head to! Even when you visit it multiple times, all of the rides still remain fun and delightful. The food is a bit overpriced, though, so maybe bring a few snacks along with you when you enter. Shrek 4D is my favorite (ride?), but The Simpsons ride is also fantastic. The other rides are alright, but those are the ones that I recommend to go to first. There's also a tram here, and it's amazing. I don't want to spoil you, but there is going to be real fire near you. Overall, 4/5
I'm actually not a huge fan, I found the rides to be pretty average as they all sort our mould into one. I ended up feeling I'll due to the effects of the 3d screens. Miss the good old scary rides without there needing to be technology involved. Ended up leaving the park early in favor of a more adventurous theme park. Was a heck of a lot of money on park tickets and don't of line passes to leave early. The stores and there novelty were good and I definitely purchased some harry potter gear. Found the store set outs to be good and easy to manouver. I wouldn't go a second time though
The rides although were cool, were too short and for those that didn't have the $60 or$100 pass to be at the front of the line, it's a waste of your money and time for a 3-5 second ride. I enjoyed the end of the day tour more than the rides to be honest
We had a great time, though it was so busy we didn't even attempt to go on a ride.
Hogsmeade and Hogwarts was cool. The Mummy is the best coaster. Universal Tour is worth the time. Much smaller than Orlando. Food and drink is obscenely overpriced.
It's awesome!!! There are many different rides that you'll want to ride over and over again. There is a good choice of restaurants and fast food places. It's a great idea to take studio tour (tram). It's a great place to visit for your family vacation since there's fun for all ages. The Animal Actors is one of my favorite shows there. Depending on the time of the year you visit the park, be prepared for long lines.
Fantastic experience, many attractions, wonderful and entertaining shows, amusing 3d rides. Dark arts show on Hogwart Castle is amazing!!! It's very crowdy and the lines are long but we managed to ride everything and see all shows in one day (we visited in June and were there from 9 am till 10 pm) .
Hogwarts Castle and town is worth everything. If you go on a busy day, the express pass is necessary. I am not one to buy extras but halfway through the day I had to buy them to avoid 90 minute waits. The castle light show is amazing! Do the studio tram tour first before it gets busy.
30 years from the last visit... Why did I wait soo long. Enjoyed bringing family for the first time. Everyone was excited and overjoyed. Thanks! Lines were all shorter than expected and even when filled, it went pretty fast. The tour around the park was great. Some old features and some new. I do recommend buying tickets before hand as you will save about $40 per ticket. And don't forget to bring snacks and drinks. Too expensive to dine. Can't wait to get back.
Fun when you have a pass because you can't do everything in one day
This can be done in one day, unless it's Christmas or Halloween. During those two (2) holiday seasons there is more things going on at the park. There is a outdoor mall that leads into the park with plenty of places to eat and shop. That reminds me of Downtown Disney.
It was lots of fun! Some of the rides are great others not so much. I would recommend the fast pass! Totally worth it. Down side is the overly priced food and the long lines. Definitely would go on the off season.
If you are visiting Horror nights at Universal Studios make sure to get the Express pass. Even though it is more expensive than the regular ticket, it is worth every dime you spent on it. If I would not have purchased it, I dont think i would have been able to do all mases and games in 5 hrs.
Been here twice and it's a blast with tons of things to do. Like it so much better than Disney land. Its a great place to spend a day with a group of friends. Its hella fun. The only thing I really disliked was the long lines.
Amazing experience of universal studios. Don t miss the studio tour. It s one of the best experiences. Rides are okay but the special shows of waterworks and special effects are top class.
Okay themepark. Nice rides. But to many People. Basicly you stand in line for 40-60 mins for 3 min ride..
Fantastic theme park to go, would recommend going during an off season otherwise the crowds make it 70% waiting in line 30% actually using rides.
Great ride staff and just pure greatness in general. My favorite ride is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. I will give you a walkthrough for some of the rides. The Forbidden Journey: Calm but don t go on if you have heart problems. Jurassic World: Calm ride giant drop that goes straight down at the end. Transformers: No drops and it is kids friendly. Minions: Short ride and kids safe. Hope to see you at Universal Studios Hollywood!
This is a fun place to spend a day. If you go off of peak season you can catch all of the attractions and shows in one day. The app is a great way to see ride times and plan your day. The Waterworld show was one of the highlights. Also the new Harry Potter themed area is excellent. The biggest downside to Universal Studios is how much they price gouge you on food and merchandise. I was shocked to see that it was $9.49 for a single slice of pizza. I decided it was better to wait until left to eat.
The castle was out of this world awesome carpentry nice woodwork inside. Snowy village was so cool.
We come every year. Kids love the park. Never get old.
Enjoyed my visit. The food and drinks were pretty good. Better than other parks
Fun to be there. Did not go inside but we had to take pictures at the Universal Globe. It was a great day.
We loved it! Brought back lots of good ol memories.
Excellent place to visit with family. Very crowded in summer.
My son and I enjoyed the VIP experience. Expensive, but totally worth it! We were able to see every show and go on every ride - some multiple times. Our tour guide was with us for about 6 hours and made sure we got to do what we wanted and was always able to get it to the front of the line and show us the best seats for each show. (Thank you, Donna!!) The food for lunch was AMAZING. I travel a lot for work and attend conferences often and even I was impressed by the food variety offered --- all upscale offerings and impeccable display and cleanliness. Even the bathrooms are "VIP" with nice disposable hand-towels that say VIP on them. We got to go into the set of Will and Grace (probably my favorite thing to experience all day -- being on a real set and learning about how they work including the live audiences) and walk around a few of the sets. The regular studio tours would drive right now. Donna was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating for our entire group. I would highly recommend the VIP experience if you can swing it!!
Very fun! Wait lines are long so plan to spend one whole day in the park
Studio tour is amazing, definitely a must do. Shows are amazing, don't miss any one. Rides are all right. They should make it more clear what is each ride like before entrance. I have motion sickness and the mummy ride made me ridiculously sick, was mislead by their attendant into feeling it's like the studio tour.
Haven't been here in over 8 years. So much has changed. What a great way to celebrate a birthday! The staff here were over the top helpful and friendly. Season Pass us reasonably priced and well worth it. Many more return trips in the future. Thanks Universal Studios for making an awesome destination.
Best place to be if you come to LA. It is free of cost and your kids will love it. I truly love this place. A must see
Friendly staff, prices inside are okay. Ride lines move quickly. Had an epic time, lots of parking. Go to the Halloween Haunt if you can in October!
Great place to visit. Better visit on regular weekdays because a lot of folks visit during weekends or holidays so you don't have to wait hours in line.
My new favorite is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, makes you feel like you in the movie. Also do not miss the studio tour...
I love this park had a blast with my family we still manage to enjoy our time there. We rode the rides we wanted even though it seems packed there and took many pictures of the people cosplaying in the costumes. I been too every seasonal theme for this amusement park and will back here to create more fun. This place is the best for all the behind the scenes movies that you love. I reccomend for all friends and families.
This was a impromptu decisions to go there but we loved it. I would definitely recommend Herry Potter ride over Jurassic Park and the park has a lot to offer for every age group. Before leaving make sure u have see the light show and bus tour.
I wish there were a few full size decent rollercoaster
We were on 10 May (th) and there were no need in express pass. Interesting and detailed Harry Potter's zone.
Great place if you're a movie fan! The tour gives you a glimpse behind the scenes and the movie themed rides are fun. Harry Potter fans will love that area. It doesn't have the history or quantity of rides as Disneyland nor the excitement level of Magic Mountain but it's worth a visit.
must see Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. About 70% of the studio lies within the unincorporated county island known as Universal City while the rest lies within the city limits of Los Angeles, California. Wikipedia
The Express Pass is well worth the extra expense if you are limited on time! We loved seeing all the characters interacting with the guests!! A very memorable day!!
Great Time! Good place to spand a day in LA, spoiler harry potter ride is the most fun of all the rides
