This company is your typical over promise, and under deliver insurance. I purchased my home in November of 2020, the home inspection included a 4 point and wind mitigation which passed, and UPC discounted my insurance premium for having this type of inspection performed. I guess the wind mitigation, and 4 point inspection are only good when they want to win your business because I ve experienced a severe leak in my roof, and water poured through my light fixture all over my floors. We ve experienced some severe weather all year in central Florida, and I figured calling my insurance company would be the proper thing to do. Well over 2 months have passed, I now have multiple water leaks, and stains in various areas of the home, and black mold growing in 4 different areas. The field adjuster from a third party company UPC assigned to the claim, he stated the roof was shot and needed to be replaced after we followed up to see how long his report was going to take. I called UPC and they said the field adjuster did not file his report yet, when I spoke to the field adjuster he said he filed the full report 3 weeks earlier. Here I am waiting for the desk adjuster after he requested photos, videos, and my original inspection report waiting for good news, he decides to tell me it will be an additional week or two before he s completed this was said on 9/22. 3 hours later he sends an email stating my claim is denied because my original inspection showed the areas causing this issue were the same found in my original home inspection. Claim denied. The inspection stated roof life expectancy 3-4 years before a replacement, it s been only 9 months. I m curious how an insurance company can insure someone, and how an inspection company can pass a 4 point and wind mitigation report if the roof was this bad at the time of inspection ? Oh that s right they can t. Now as I sit here with my pregnant wife, and 4 year old with black mold growing in the home for 2 months, and continuous leaks, I now have to worry about our of pocket costs to protect my families health. All I wanted to do was pay my deductible, and go about this the proper way, but now I will have to take legal action on top of moving out of my house for a couple of weeks to perform mold remediation. Steer clear of this company unless you enjoy paying premiums for something they will never cover even it means jeopardizing your health. Do yourself a favor, choose another company. We ll see you in court UPC, but you re probably used to it by now. Thanks desktop Jeremy
