This is a unique school that offers environmentally focused education in nearly all of their classes. They follow a theme of sustainability through all the courses and the class sizes are small. The 5 week 1 class at a time pairs very well with this type of education as you can really focus on the subject matter. Going to college online while learning about saving the environment seems logical as you re not commuting and overusing resources. As a 37 yo man with kids it works perfect and the education is very good and efficient. I d recommend this school to anyone that wants an efficient environmental education that might have seen impossible because life & location wouldn t allow them to attend in person. Read the negative reviews with a grain of salt, I m currently a student and I m gaining a lot. I think college is what you make of it.

Honestly, the only good thing brought to me by Unity was tardigrade research. I m really grateful for this opportunity, but looking back on my experience at the college I feel good about leaving.
I had awful roomate experiences and my dorm was full of people who made me uncomfortable and afraid to leave my room, even to just use the microwave. My RA was very supportive, however.
The college took my money and gave me untransferable college credit, and false hope in my education. The coronavirus situation has impacted everyone poorly, but in the case of Unity it has put me into a position of uncertainty and frustration.
For a college called Unity there really wasn t much unity or kindness within the community. The school really targeted quirky kids who don t want a traditional big college experience, and yet any differences were scrutinized by my fellow students.
I wish I could get the time, effort, and money back.
This is not to say that there weren t any good experiences. I had such wonderful professors.
In contrast, however, when I sought out help for my mental health, there was no compassion.
On my NOVA trip, I expressed my concern about a specific hike, but my leaders told me I was holding back the group and being rude and anxious about a nothing situation. Of course this nothing situation ended in a trip to the ER and high doses of benedryl on the weeklong trip. But still somehow I ended up apologizing.
I sincerely hope this school changes in a positive way. Thanks for leaving me with uncertainty ):

I could not have designed a more ideal secondary education and college experience for my daughter than what life at Unity already provides. Out of this world support and genuinely caring staff and faculty who actually KNOW the kids well. That kind of investment drives the students to achieve and succeed. My daughter pounding out two BS degrees in 3.5 years wouldn't happen otherwise!
No one gets lost here. Such NICE, considerate, friendly students (self-policing of improper behaviors impressed me)! VERY SAFE campus with an ample menu of healthy activities and often locally grown food. Dorms and cafe are excellent. The town is lovely, especially if outdoor recreation, farming, hunting, or fishing are on your to-do list. The Amish markets are great! The students even visit an Amish farm and learn about their way of life and food preservation practices.
I am delighted my teen developed into a talented young leader with polished, real-world professional skills applicable in innumerable fields. I am amazed she is working in her degree field PRIOR to graduation. Plenty of hands-on valuable projects, challenges, and service experiences in the course of normal study and student life. This is nothing like my five year Big 10 university education -- I really missed out upon seeing what Unity delivers. Being a "Unity Grad" puts one far ahead of the competing field.

Unity college is a great college for people who love the environment and want to make a difference in the world. It is a small school and fairly new only 50 years old. They have Wildlife education and Conservation and Law Enforcement as well.
