I spent 1 hour here to "gaze with veneration". But that time was not enough to me to idolization that building. I could not go inside, because that day was closing. It is a masterpiece of construction. I admire that. I took many picture outside of that building. I hope I will come back to visit inside that building

This is a requirement visit in Washington D.C. The capital building is completely beautiful. within the spring time there area unit several flowers and trees close it to create it even higher. The fountain within the front is extremely distinctive and ideal for photos with the building. they need gates up with guards therefore you cannot get extremely shut. i believe they are doing tours however you'd ought to analysis that on the web site.

US House of Congress / Unfortunately, this building is sometimes confused with the White House, and especially in the media and radio and television of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the image of this center is broadcast and the title White House is put on it! While the White House is essentially another building and is located some distance from this building; Thanks to Google

One of the free things in DC which completely live upto the hype and expectation.

Just few days before my trip to DC with my parents I booked the building tour online and was able to get an afternoon slot. As we walked in ,the email confirmation was checked and we were handed over the passes. They don't allow any eatables inside, so make sure not to carry them. We saw so many people throwing their drinks and food away before entering the security check point.

The first part of the tour included a movie about the history of the Capitol building. It lasts for a good 20 mins and is a very good refresher for all those who are not aware of the history. After the movie ends one walks into the main hall where a tour guide takes approximately 15-20 people in one group. They handed over the headphones for the audio tour.

The length of the tour depends on the tour guide. Our tour lasted little more than one hour and the tour guide was really nice. She explained everything in detail and also made sure all the queries were answered.

Definitely a must thing to do in DC!

Great tours by our representatives interns. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful state donated statues and gorgeous architecture. Staff around historical places are courteous and helpful and willing to answer whatever questions they can. Be sure to take lots of pictures and have open ears

Quite impressive and awe inspiring. I am sure there is so much more to see than I guess they're just not able to show you. But still, if visiting dc, this is a must. Go online and make a reservation for your timed tour. Bypass the long lines that way!

I was really disappointed with our tour here. The rotunda was closed to tourists and they didn't really have a good backup plan to make it up on the tour. When congress isn't in session it would be great if the tour included one of their chambers. But it doesn't. So instead all we got to see was the crypt and the old supreme court.

What really irked me is that all the exhibitions and films are so heavily protected by copyright that there are no photos allowed in those places. I didn't try to take one - but those who did got the full ire from a very rude and bored congressional staff.

Visited early morning and easily got House and Senate gallery passes from the visitors center. It was on a day they were debating the Oregon mass shooting / gun control and I had the chance to watch the House proceedings right from the ceremonial start. After an hour, I transferred to the Senate for a while and then was lucky enough to score an immediate entry to the official Congress tour (don't miss out if you want to see the dome) with a very funny and knowledgeable guide. I am glad I chose to visit the Capitol this time around. Don't skip it, its just a great experience to be in these famous rooms.

Call you US congressman's office for a tour, you won't regret it. We called 1 week before our trip and they took care of everything, Andres and Layla from cogressman Vicente Gonzalez's office were great. These staffers not only gave us a behind the scenes but it was great to talk politics with them. My congrssman was unfortunately not there but I'll catch him back home.

Awesome building! OMG I have never seen so many statues in one place! LOL and everyone has a sign saying don't touch! Yeah right! You end up touching them just to get around the place! But it was a very moving experience. To actually stand in the middle of the Rotunda was worth the effort.

Wow Washington DC is so impressive with grandeur and with the feel of Roman inspiration.

Also I think an overlooked or unknown Albert Einstein memorial is definitely worth seeing. Once you read how complicated and the thought that went into it, you'll have such greater appreciation for it.

I believe everyone should schedule the African American history museum, it's amazing. Do the guided tour and it'll open your mind.

Let me just start by saying that all 535 staff members are utterly incompetent at their jobs; I've seen better management skills at McDonalds. Everyone kept asking for more of my money, and that I'd get things for it, but I haven't seen any of that. Lastly, absolutely NOTHING gets done here, it's almost as if the guests are invisible, because not once did an employee do a single thing I asked, they just proclaimed it was time for a change, and then argued amongst one another until they lost track of what they were arguing about. Supposedly the staff change hands every 2-4 years, but I've seen the same people every time I go. Thank god these people don't have jobs where their actions would have broader implications.

United States Capitol is something that everyone should see in their lifetime. It is well worth the money and the time it takes you travel to Washington DC. I have to say it was one of the highlights of our recent family trip to the Nation's capitol. We visited on a rainy day, so that was a little bit of a disappointment, but there is nothing we can do about that.
