Quit bickering over what the president said and fix flint, work on the border and the United States major cities are turning in to cesspools y all have forgotten who you serve and it isn t yourself do your duty to the people of the United States, it s almost to the point where Canada has a more ethical governing body and that s just a disgusting disgrace we re better than this and definitely better then the canucks to the north

Book a visit through your congress person. If you are able to get a private tour, your guide will walk you from the congress person's office and through the tunnels to the Capitol building itself. Highly recommend this option.

Huge building. Lots of outside space for photo opportunity

The visit to the Capitol can be booked in advance on the web and is free. The site is amazing, the tour lasts about 45 minutes and is very well explained by your guide. It is educational and provides a lot of information about democracy in the US. Stand out the gallery of the statues. You can get there on the Metro Red line. The stop is Union Station. Also in the Blue, Orange and Silver. The stops are Capitol South and Federal Center.

Stunning architecture. If you're planning a visit, definitely contact your local congressman's office to schedule a tour. The tours through congressional offices are much more complete than the standard public tour.

This is another of the icons of the city of Washington and one of the most important and famous buildings in the world. It's about the Capitol. It is the place where the parliament of the United States resides and it is where the congressmen and senators parliament their government decisions. I recommend doing the guided tour that includes patriotic video and everything.

The majestic United States Congress, the buildings inside are also very fine, there are many statues and pictures, you can better understand the history of the United States!

After seeing it in movies, being there in person was a gratifying experience.

If you are traveling to Washington, D.C. for vacation, you really should visit the U.S. Capitol and see history first hand. Make sure you book a tour so you will know the historic events that have taken place inside and the many important decisions that have been made over the course of history. The tour can go from 60 to 90 minutes. You will each be given a headset so you can hear what your guide is saying.

Once inside, you may want to spend time appreciating the architecture and putting attention to every detail that defines this building.

Security is tight going into the building, so it s best that you not bring too much with you.
After you are done inside, walk around the building and enjoy the grand architecture.

The visit is free.
Allow approximately 25 minutes for the withdrawal of a ticket.
You will then see a video of 10 minutes and after that the visit will begin. This is a group tour with a guide per group and you will see the largest room including the famous dome. It lasts about 1h30.
You can then see the deputies in full duty in the chamber of deputes! For this you will withdraw a ticket by presenting your passport to the box d behind the status of astronaut. Photos and videos will be banned and you will be searched. It takes half an hour to get there.

Superb and essential! The visit by reservation is definitely worth a visit. The reception is very professional. I would do it again without hesitation

We did the free walking tour of the Capitol building today. I had made an advance reservation, and I'm glad I did, because the line for walk-ins was at least an hour long. We walked right in to our tour.

The security staff is, as others have noted, rude. There's just nothing you can do about that. Don't bring anything you care about. My neighbor's expensive sunscreen ended up in the trash. I had an apple in my purse that they forced me to eat before entering the building. It wasn't dangerous, sharp, or likely to spill. It was an apple.

The experience consists of a 15-minute introductory movie (which was actually quite good) and then a "45-minute walking tour." The walking tour shows you two rooms - the Rotunda and the Statuary Hall. That's it. We could not believe how short and uninformative it was.

It was impossible to hear and understand our tour guide's commentary, even though they gave us headsets that were designed to help in that regard. There were at least 20 tour groups in the Rotunda at once, and our headsets picked up the commentary of all the guides at the same time.

All in all, I was disappointed. The Rotunda is beautiful, and the introductory film was nice, but neither was worth what we had to go through to see them.

Be sure to check for security tips and prohibited items on the Capital website to save yourself some time and aggravation. We set up a free tour through our Congressman's office. They where helpful and we where able to walk the tunnels beneath the streets to get to the Capital building from our Congressman's office.

Just wow! We contacted our state representative in advance to arrange a tour. My husband and I were taken by an aid with a group of students from the representative's office to the Capitol Building via underground tunnel. My favorite stop - and probably everyone's - was the rotunda. I hadn't expected to be so wowed by the architecture of the rotunda itself, and the amazing art collection housed there. I think this tour would be pretty boring for young kids, but amazing to adults or teenagers with an interest in American History.

A young lady blonde in golf cart was very rude. All other guys and help were very kind. We enjoyed the visit very much. Would highly recommend it to any American.

It's strange. You see this place all the time in movies and on tv, but when you see it in person you're like "wow this place really does exist"

The tour guide we had was incredible - obviously super knowledgeable and capable (shout out to you, Blake Lindsay).

I thought my tour of the Capitol building made me feel a greater devotion to my country. We went through the tour and if you have a good tour guide it is a great experience!

I honestly wish the people we have in office and it does not matter to me. If it s a Republican or a Democrat could honestly just do what s best for our country it seems that everybody wants their own agenda and at some point they ve all forgot about what they got in office for. Working for our country. I honestly believe other countries look at us and are laughing. They think we are fools. We fight like children we will not be leaders for long if we keep acting like this. I really wish they will wake up and do what s right for our country and stop fighting let s work together for the good of our country or we will fall because we cannot be leaders let s lead and stop fighting who cares if you re a Democrat or Republican in the end of the day it s our country that is what is important please stop the fighting. I don t do social media but if anybody agrees can you help pass this around so we can wake up Washington. Surely the rest of the world is watching us and I m sure they think we are fools not leaders.

Very Good Looking Building in the National Mall @ Washington DC.. For viewing and Photograph This United States Capitol building looks better than White house.. Lot of Greenery around this Building..You can take 1$ Circulator Bus from here to go a full round of National Mall.. We viewed from outside of this Building only..

We had an amazing time in our tour of this location. The staff was super friendly and we got to see a lot on the tour. It was very educating and it gave us a bigger picture of our countries history. Well worth the tour.

The tour is frequent and the person who explains it gives us a good guide and gives an interesting explanation about American history, culture, people, and buildings. You don't have to fight for an explanation by handing out the headset.

Awe inspiring. They knew what they were doing when they built this building. As ugly as things seem in politics today, a tour of this building seems to put things in perspective. A lot of good has happened in this place and to walk the halls and see the sites is pretty awesome. All three of our kids were entertained/captivated here. Probably goes without saying, but this is a must when you visit

Fantastic, a must visit. Although I would recommend going in the Spring or Fall the heat and humidity of summer can take a toll on your body.

A strong point in tourism, a wonderful view. I loved seeing the capitol lit up at night, I was in August two thousand and seventeen.

Go in line early to visit, and there will be a special team leader to explain the tour in batches.

It is a must see when visiting Washington. From the outside the building is impressive, but the best is in the interior, where there are magnificent rooms and works of art worth seeing.
It is necessary to book the visit in advance. The guides are very good and make the visit worthwhile.

I've been to USA in 2005 and love this country since that time.

Historic and monumental place. So many times seen on television and in the cinema and not for that reason it fails to impress.

Beautiful building. Parking is for capital workers only. You will likely have to taxi, walk, scooter, uber, or bus to get here. There is a free bus service that goes around the National Mall. That line makes around 15 stops including one near the capital. I would recommend it for the elderly and some handicap. There is plenty of opportunities for picture taking here. I do not believe public restrooms are near here. They are near the center of the National Mall or the Smithsonian. National Art Gallery might be another option.

There is a guided tour, you can't go in and visit yourself. There are several cherry trees around.

Such an amazing experience. I have toured the Capitol as a tourist, and have provided tours as a Congressional Intern. There is so much to learn through the architectural structures to the rotunda.. it's all quite breathtaking.

Such an amazing building. The tour is relatively Limited in what you get to see. You got to go into the main Dome of course which is pretty amazing. You go into a couple other rooms which hold historical importance and have historical sculptures, but note that you will never get to see any of the areas where staff and currently used rooms for the House and Senate

Amazing Place... I loved all the history behind that very old building. The sad part is that the whole rotunda and dome was covered in scaffolding. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the capitol. Five out of Five for sure!

God Bless the U.S.A. this building has so much history and has such an amazing story about the new visitors center. Who would have known that they built the Capitol on a swamp. Thank God it's getting drained!

Another must as far as photo ops in the capitol. You can park nearby sometimes, or have someone drive you up and wait in the car.

This is a great place to visit for an educational field trip or to take you and your family with for about a couple of hours. The tours are captivating, and you can go back to America s past through the different locations and learn how the government runs. I highly recommend visiting this place if you are visiting DC.
