No one seemed to have an ounce of reasonability. Visiting Chicago... Skip any place ran by this security unit. Seriously ridiculous. We tried to got to the Taste of Chicago... But we forgot that we packed a multi tool. Instead of giving us the opportunity to leave with tool, the security at the West gate threw out the tool (pilers, scissors and an inch blade.. a dull one at that.... the horror ) and refused to return it. Even if we agreed to leave. Even calling in the supervisor didn't help because she was not willing to even listen to our side of the story. Told us she was turning it over to Chicago PD at their main tent and we can retrieve it there. Sooooo walk a mile and a half and instead us retrieving it from Chicago PD and leaving. She colored the conversation as if we were not willing to leave. Maybe in the future this security unit will consider following Washington DC Smithsonian policy where if you have a multi tool you can leave with it and just not come back . We camp a ton sorry we have a useful multi tool on us... Out $40 and a awesome camping supply
