Don't choose this school. First of all the rating is so low.

Second one is once you paid the fee, it will be hard to get refund from this Unitec. The refund policy is just like a batman trap, hard to understand. Their response is just like using an answering machine, hard to understand. It always does so slowly so it will take maximum refund so student will get little money.

All telephone conversation will not be followed up by them. They don't speak English. Strongly suggest to find a better school.

This is the worst service I have ever had. I spent around 1 hour to enroll the course on my phone in student information centre.because she is lazy ,she doesn t want me To enroll on paper form. Also They lost my privacy phone copies document . I have to apply again I really want to know where can I complain?

Amazing and enjoyable to learn things that schools don't teach you.

It was ok. Nothing special, learnt some things and then carried on to get a good job

Had two fantastic years at the Albany campus then moved to Carrington road for the third year where the staff are absolutely useless

Avoid this uni and go AU or AUT ASAPP
Treated me unfairly during qurantine some lecturers are completely unfair and unforgiving

Good environment and a well structured ground plan for the student which will make always happy to drive them with better education.

As BCs student (international) at Unitec, I can say that it's not perfect, but it is a great tertiary school. There is a recently refurbished campus which is constantly evolving, with mostly up-to-date classes and some helpful teachers.

Especially, it's great that they give students access to tools such as free Office 365 ProPlus and access to Microsoft Imagine, which are very helpful for all kinds of students to learn essential skills in a modern way. All students also get their own Outlook and Skype Unitec accounts which can be used to easily connect with anyone, be it students, lecturers or other staff.

Reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars are that the campus is too remote from the CBD for my taste, and there are few food options at the campus. Also, the international team are not very helpful, so don't expect to rely on them if you are international, you'll need to sort your situation out yourself, and getting an apartment that isn't a 20+ minute bus ride away is hard unless you look to share an actual house with someone.

The worst Institute ever. I have wested my time there and lost my scholarship because of it s bad management and greed . If you are international do not study at Unitec. They will deal with you as an income for them not as a student who needs to learn. They only care about how they can make money out of you no matter how they have failed me in many papers unfairly.
They gave random marks. They should not be Institution or even a kind of Educational place.

I regret every moment I spent at this Place.

Have been studying civil engineering here since mid of 2019. So far so good. All lecturers I have are very experienced professionals and are alway encourage students to ask questions if they need any help or support. Haven t use other services provided by Unitec so no comments at the moment.

I took my 14 year old labrador here. The cost was extraordinary. At the time it was too much to pay for the arthritis drugs they prescribed as they also made me make an appointment for same drugs every six weeks. The cost here is 4x other clinics and I feel sadly my dog died due to their uncaring for the animals. I would recommend people who love their pets there are better options. Please don't stop giving vet treatment just find a better vet.

Don't expect a lot from the Student Central people. Seriously don't! Oh and heaven forbid you want to know your course requirements for the next semester! Apparently you have to wait till the first class of the semester to find out what you need. Problem is when the other 8 universities/ polytechs use the same textbook... See my problem.

As one of the Unitec student, I have to say really poor management and bad Online chat experience

When I withdrew 1 week after study commenced, they forced me to pay the full semesters course fees rather than the obliges 10%. They are vicious and have no wiggle room and frankly all staff seem like they don t want to be there or have somewhere better to be. I wouldn t advice anyone to study here and they try get the less educated to join and study there!

Definitely not recommended.
Maybe if they actually got lecturers who spoke English (not being racist) like to the point they understood students questions and stopped fighting with students saying theyre being offensive asking stuff because no one understood what the lecturer was saying

From what I know, complaints have already been submittied (by numerous other students) a long time ago, but no action was taken.

Good place to study but fails in a few aspects. They should assist you to find a job during and after your studies more than they say they do

Certificate of language teacher is all about CELTA not for other languages. One of teachers he does harrasment to avoid students to know that he has poor knowledge and no experiences, so does abusive attitude. Be careful! absolutely waisting money for taking his class. Never reccomend to learn at Unitec.

I have been here at Unitec for exchange for one semester and I could not have been happier. Great people, unique education and inspiring lecturers. All facilities are modern and staff really takes care of their students! In total it has been a hollistic experience and I would do it again. Thanks Unitec, Thanks Tissy!

I've used a moniker to protect my identity as a current student.
Firstly, I want to state that the teachers are fine, give or take a few.
The problem is the organisation of the Student Central. They will waste your time consistently, and will provide VERY unfriendly service depending on who is helping you and sometimes, they will never even help you at all.

Unitec need a water fountain for drink and also a entertainment area like for pool tables etc

Unitec is a great university, I was student there for 3 years. The campus is really nice, but walking uphill in the winter can be somewhat tricky and dangerous. The distance between buildings makes getting to class on time a real challenge.

The historical buildings are very nice from the outside, but could use some serious renovations on the inside. The campus has been transformed into a big construction site in the last two years, making tuition there less enjoyable. The librairies get very crowded and hot during exam season and renders study rooms unavailable.

The quality of education is excellent and increases as the classes shrink in size because the learning experience is enhanced. Many classes are recorded which makes attendance completely optional for those who can't make it to class. Alumni benefit from many things upon graduation, such as the Unitec reputation and a wide network of former students to connect with.

Unitec playing a dirty game on failing international students to get money out of them, this was mention by one of the lecturers his name is Sean Quifors. The funny thing when I went to complain about it, I end up failing every assignment I submit!!!

Just wondering if New Zealand qualification system is aware of these issues.

Unorganized institute providing false information to students about short courses and afterwards informing of inability to provide these courses at last moment. Blames nzqa for their problems.

Awesome campus. Easy walking distance to train, shops, bus routes. Great place to work and study.

A place were you feel welcome and you have a lot of help to learn and build a career.

I joined Unitec as a part time student last semester 2020. I have to say apart from my lecturers and learning experience everything else utterly disappointing. The most useless administration/ student support I have ever experienced in my life! From the beginning itself I did not receive any guidance about how to select my courses as a part time student and how to use the Student Portal to select courses and other services! I finally had to contact the customer service and found out the administration office has done a big mistake and put me down as a Full time student even though I specifically mentioned on my application that I am a part time student! How can you treat students like this???
And I m still struggling with an issue because of the administration office in the Business School, I mean their communications skills are the worst and the best they do is leave students who needs support with administration related inquiries , in the dark with Zero communication.
I would not recommend to study here unless you get the proper support which you should get as a student! Very disappointed at your service!

I am preparing to apply at Unitec on Automotive engineering for February 2016. I have known it is the best place for studying and living.. I love NZ and Unitec... I can't wait to move there..
