The Union Square Greenmarket is a classic New York experience. Super fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, pork, eggs, even rabbit can all be found here. Support the local farms and eat damn good. The produce is usually as cheap as the groceries, but the meat and dairy can get a bit pricey. Worth it, in my book.

Great green market and the park is always beautiful and well kept overall. My only complaint is that every time I stop by the newly opened restrooms- they are a complete disaster and disgusting. Homeless people sleeping, washing their clothes, washing themselves, condoms lying around, etc.

Prostitution is clearly happening in the women's room. I won't go there again- don't want to catch an STD. Last time I asked the park workers about it and they said there was nothing they could do about it.

Union Square- please take a trip to visit Bryant Park's gorgeous, non-brothel restrooms!! The best in public bathrooms in the city.

The crowd here is totally awesome and gives an authentic New York feel. Love this place any time of year and any time of day. Great for just hanging, catching free music, people watching and the green market!

One of the largest greenmarkets. Come early in the day, especially on the weekends and be able to get everything from fresh local fish to lavender scented pillows. Also a haunt of local street musicians, some of the better ones in the city.
