I've not used them personally, but I know others who have adopted dogs through Underdog Rescue, and from what I've witnessed from their experiences, it's a great organization. If I were looking to adopt another dog I'd look to them as one of the first organizations I'd want to adopt from based on the experiences of those around me.

Megan was a delight to work with. We arrived roughly 30 minutes early to adopt a new puppy. They had just finished with another adoption and were already ready for us to meet and adopt our new puppy. My wife handled all the paperwork and fees, as well as the virtual home visit. Once we were approved, it wasn't long of a wait to pick up the puppy. We would definitely recommend #UnderdogRescue and will very likely choose them in the future for adoption.

I have adopted three dogs from Underdog and could not be happier with the experience. One required FHO surgery with a special orthopedic surgeon, which the rescue paid for on top of "normal" vetting (no small feat on a 2.5 lb dog!).

Another spent 8 years being neglected by a breeder and got all the normal vetting which included a dental with 14 teeth extracted. After talking with my vet, the dental alone would have cost a bare minimum of $700, and her adoption fee was half that.

Our third dog the director took a big chance on, pulling her from animal control. She wasn't handling the shelter environment at all and was a big risk of euthanasia if she hadn't been pulled by Underdog Rescue. The Director just somehow KNEW that this dog was stressed out and not herself, and she wasn't wrong. She's a great dog and not at all like the dog she was when she was pulled from animal control!

As for communication:
Emails were prompt in all cases (within 24 hours). The Adoption Coordinator was very friendly and easy to work with. The first email did end up in my spam folder, but I was checking it religiously since I saw that it could end up there when I filled out the application. If I have any questions about behaviors, health, etc, I get answers from either Underdog's Volunteers or other adopters in their alumni group on Facebook.

Overall, I have been impressed with Underdog Rescue's adoption process. It is lengthy and in depth, but that makes me feel great knowing that they are thorough about making sure their dogs go to great homes, and that they consider my home a great home!

I fostered and volunteered through Underdog, and I am so impressed by the passion that everyone at Underdog has for saving animals. It is a great place to volunteer and foster! From a foster perspective and having recently adopted our newest family member from Underdog, I appreciate the amount of time Underdog takes to ensure that an applicant is the right fit for a particular dog. It is never easy to tell an applicant no, but each of the dogs that comes through (especially from commercial breeders) really need individuals and families super tailored to their needs to ensure they are successful. Very appreciative of all the dogs (and cats) that Underdog saves and finds loving homes for each year!

Wonderful local rescue. I originally found out about them after seeing signs at Bone Marche, local pet store in SLP.

I love seeing local rescues get well deserved donations and support from the community.

Thank you to all volunteers at this local rescue for doing what you do and helping pups in need! Your love for animals doesn t go unnoticed and you truly make a huge impact on each animals life.

We rescued our dog from Underdog Rescue over a year ago and I have only good things to say about UDR and their operation. You can tell they really care about the animals and finding good homes for each one.

UDR responded to our adoption application in a timely manner. When the first dog we applied to adopt did not work out, they suggested we may want to be a foster care family. Well, what a joy it's been to bring in a rescue to give the dog love and care. We get in love with this dog. In process of adoption now.

Wonderful organization who s true passion is finding a perfect forever home for each animal that passes through. They are well organized and treat all fosters and adopters with absolute kindness and respect. Adopt, foster, volunteer, and donate to Underdog - you won t regret it :)
