Have waited an hour to be seen the last two times I've come here. Writing this from my room while still waiting to see the doctor... why make an appointment? I understand things are tough right now, but why over book your Drs? They clearly do not value their patients time...

My doctor used to be Doogie Howard - not kidding. But I guess he left and another doctor took over his patients. I actually like Dr. Kane. He's been my PCP for a couple years now. He always seems sincere and just wants to make sure I'm doing everything to maintain my health. Seems reasonable to me. That's worth the one star. Otherwise my rating would be zero stars. My big problem is the front desk staff and whoever answers the phone. Extremely rude and disrespectful every single time. I've included those comments in surveys I've received but apparently they're really secure in their hatefulness as they're still hateful. Today I called to ask a general question. I got the usual rude tone and when I decided that I think I'm done with putting up with this and asked to cancel the appointment, Morticia actually hung up on me. I called back and of course she answered again. When I mentioned she hung up on me, she argued and said 'No I didn't, You hung up'. I responded that I didn't hang up. She changed her story and basically admitted that she hung up on me because she thought I was done. What a joke. Unacceptable behavior followed by lies, followed by excuses. I would like to dismiss this unacceptable and rude customer service one more time, but I can't keep pretending that this is ok. It isn't ok. Patients have healthcare choices. Until someone changes the general atmosphere in this office, I'll be going elsewhere.

Dr. Koonce lives up to his great online reviews. A genuine doctor's visit instead of the 5 minute assembly line type of visit that is commonplace nowadays. Thorough with questions, listened, full 2-way conversation. Also, visit was very efficient...saw the doctor within 10 minutes of arrival.

This is the best place to see a doctor in Orange County. I have been going to UNC Family Medicine for a couple of years now and every time I go, no matter who sees me, I have an amazing experience. Everyone is extremely nice, competent, and professional. I even had a doctor call me personally two days after my appointment to see how I was feeling!? No doctor has ever done that for me before! They offer in person, video, and phone appointments right now because of COVID. Easy to book appointments and a great place to get health care!

Dr. Morgan McEachern's only excuse was she was too busy. Too busy to contact me in the hospital about my baby's condition for a whole day or what to expect as far as tests or evaluations. Too busy to call me as she'd promised until the end of the second business day regarding test results or scheduling other newborn screenings. Too busy to alert her own staff, apparently, when I told her our primary provider would perform said screenings. Apologizing for the same repeated mistake is disingenuous. I couldn't trust a doctor who doesn't own her mistakes. My interaction was solely because of delivering at UNC Women's Center but I'd never recommend UNC Family Medicine based on my experience.

Avoid Dr. Michelle Lyman at all costs. Not sure where to start but here goes:

When we moved NC a couple of years ago I called this clinic to set up a PCP. You don't get to choose your doctor here; they just assign a resident to be your PCP. The one they assigned me to was great - she listened, communicated, and made me feel like we were partners in my care.

Two years later, without my knowledge, I was assigned to a new resident, a Dr. Michelle Lyman. Nobody bothered to tell me this and I only found out when my pharmacy called to renew a prescription and I ended up getting a 30 day supply with no refills, rather than a 90 day with three refills. I went on the UNC my chart website and only then did I see that I was assigned to this Dr. Lyman. I wrote to Dr. Lyman and it was apparent from her reply that she was willing to do the bare minimum and not include me making decisions about my medical care. I'm 63 years old, and have had several serious medical issues over the years (including beating cancer) so I've been around the block a few times.

Long story short, Dr. Lyman made it clear that she was not interested in us being partners in my care, and actually ignored my email (and subsequent emails) when I politely expressed my concern. I'm on levothyroxine due to thyroid cancer and new from my test results that the dosage needed to be tweaked.

I tried reaching someone at the clinic to address my concerns. Finally, someone called, and even then, kept interrupting me. Just horrible.

I'm now seeing a doctor at UNC Internal Medicine and couldn't be happier.

Mostly positive experiences. Sometimes experience long waits due to receptionists not checking you in, and have had some messed up orders which extends the waiting process while they have to fix everything.

I've had Dr. Moore as a primary there and she does excellent, 5/5 for her services

The doctors bedside manner is that of a child not understanding why questions are being asked and answering them with anger !
I asking questions why they are putting me on medication I just wanted to know and it s not my fault that they messed up on the prescription so bad and didn t have any medicine that I had to take my dogs cancer medicine !!!! Yea you read that right !!!
Top of that I asked for labs to get done and blood work he did not even order labs or bloodwork !!
just told me to have a good day and left the door open as he walked out and washed his hands
so that s why I gave you one star you know who you are!
