Never getting my treatment here! I got my premolar extractions done here as suggested by the Orthodontic department at UF. First they quoted me wrong and then after completion of the service informed that I need to pay for the entire treatment as my insurance had already maxed out. Had they given me the correct quote and explained how they used the funds right I wouldn't have considered getting this treatment as it is clearly outside my budget. No one cared to explain me the finances correctly. This is really frustrating now that I have to pay an amount which I cannot afford.

Sunday I was rushed to shans hosptial due to a major dental infection that was going septic I seen the oral surgeon there he didn't waste no time with getting a drain in my mouth. That doctor was amazing and saved my life if was not for him I would not be here. Now for the apt at the office on the 1st was a nightmare the lady at the front desk was rude and not helpful at all if u don't want to help your customers then u do not need to be in that field at all. Then they call me back to pull the tube I need up having more then one pulled now the girl that called me back was wonderful she helped me with everything here I am with a major infection in my mouth so the numbing wasn t working I kept telling the doctor to stop but he kept on I felt everything the drilling tugging pulling then after he got the two out he stuck something down in the hole where the drain was wasn t even watching what he was doing just going back and forth killed me THAT was the worst doctor visit I have ever been to and will be reported to my primary never again will I step foot in your office or care unless it's the doctor I had at the er.i do not recommend this place for anyone who has a bad infection

Beware. Good medical/dental practicioners but horrendous administration.
Had complex surgery i May 2020 to treat cysts in maxilla and place bone grafts.
Called prior to surgery to check if any cost (out of pocket) to me.
Was told by doctor that procedure was covered by 3 billing codes and to call another person to see if there would be any cost. Called the person with the codes and she called me back later and told me that all was covered and there woul be no cost to me.
Went back for a follow up visit and was directed to the billing department who told me I owed $2500.!! I told the billing person that I had checked prior to surgery and had been advised that there would be no cost.
Her response was that I had called the wrong person which I found astonishing because I had called the person I had been told to call prior to surgery.
I was compelled to sign a payment document which was neither a contract or a promise to pay because I felt that if I did not sign I would not be able to continue with the follow up.
I contacted the Patient Advocate who, after many emails and calls saisd that she would get Oral Surgery to call me. That was several months ago and I heard nothing and the Patient Advocate does not respond to voice and E mails.
Last straw is that they now threaten to put me in Collection rather than calling to discuss what was basically their screw up.
All of this reflects very badly on UF Health and College of Dentistry.
Do not trust them and do not expect any kind of decent customer/patient support or communication..
Next comes a

Girlfriend has to have three teeth removed. Four months ago, we went to Azalea family dentistry, who took X-rays and referred us to UF. After waiting over 2 months for a call, we finally called them and we're told the appointment had already been made for June 11th, and that someone should have called us. Nobody ever did. That was the end of the call, just the date and time for the appointment, no further instructions.

We arrive on the day of the surgery, and after filling out all forms we are told that Azalea family dentistry must send an X-ray or we have to pay $95 (which we can't afford) for them, as Medicaid only covers one round of x-rays. Nobody ever told us that it was a requirement, we we're simply told to be at the appointment.

Front desk staff are unprofessional and worse, inattentive. You should not work in a healthcare setting (especially one like UF) if you don't care about your patients. Shame on you, Shands.

The doctors, staff, and facility are awesome! I got a wisdom tooth and a molar pulled out in 15 minutes after anesthesia! Their pain treatment was perfect! The hard part is getting an appointment. After that, it's a great experience!

It's a game! Made my appointment a year ago and now they are saying I'm "calling the wrong office" when it is in my contacts. Super rude as well

If I could add more stars I would I had a infected wisdom tooth down to the bone and 4 other wisdom teeth from heck ..I can't speak for everyone but Regina in the front desk is awesome a angel from above she went above and beyond for me on this hectic morning and I could not thank her enough she has so much compassion and professionalism in her it's rare she's a gem !!! Her hug was everything as I was nervous for my procedure and help soothed me !! The lady who took me back that morning was also a blessing she also went out of her way to help me with my morning and it was hectic I wish I remembered her name !!! The surgery staff was amazing and I can say I had 4 teeth and a extra one removed at one time and they have made sure I am comfortable sent home...thank you guys ! Dr.Dolwick and staff is amazing.

I have been referred here and for the last 5 weeks......I cant get anyone on the phone when I call. Leave a message.....no one calls back. I can't eat and have been stuck on a soft food diet, sometimes that hurts. 11lbs down and cant afford to loose anymore!!

I felt no pain when my tooth was pulled by Oral and Maxillofacial area.

Horrible the staff was nasty except for one nice secretary and their billing department is lazy and rude. I was crying and they just told me that I had to find a way to pay it now instead of being billed and they had no regard or customer service and sent me into a panic attack

Scheduled my appointment months ago just to find out today that my name isn t even in the computer. I m glad I didn t drive over an hour to get there. The lady who answers the phone is extremely rude and wouldn t let me get a word in whatsoever.
