This is a great school! I loved coming here. It was nice to get away from LA for a while and focus on my studies : )

The Faculty were great, people are nice and friendly and there are many orgs you can join if you want to be active in school. PAD for me : )

Campus has a variety of food you can have. I do wish that Panda Express wasn't so expensive $11.00 dollars a plate? come on! But oh well, what are you gonna do right? : )

Besides that i totally recommend you to come here if you are thinking of what college to attend.

Bittersweet for me. Being back here is a miracle in itself but then to be here with the campus closed and maybe seeing somebody walking or drive through, it was eerie yet justified given the current pandemic situation. Go Highlanders!

UC Riverside also known as UCR of course. I've also heard many negative names like UC Racer-side and University Can't Read (who ever came up with that doesn't know grammar). Not as fun as say University of Caucasians Living among Asians (UCLA), University of Chinese Immigrants (or Civics and Intergras, UCI), University of Spoiled Children (USC), but as Wayne Brady once said "RIVERSIDE MOTHER F**KERS!!" as he blasted a machine gun on an episode of Chappelle Show.

From day one, you will hear nothing but denial. As freshman cope with the fact they didn't get in to their dream school, they disrespect UCR to feel better about themselves and talk about what could have been. Probably the same people that love to watch and talk crap about Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. The sad reality is most of these complainers either don't graduate or end up complaining until Senior year (5 to 6, occasionally 4 years).

I may be an old fart having graduated... not too long ago. The school has changed. The commons I once enjoyed studying/ sleeping in and cafeteria have been torn down and replaced. Besides having a Business Program and Engineering program, now has or will have Medical and Law School. WOOT WOOT! If you are like most students, you will start off in Engineering and finish in Business or Economics. Random Facts: The Rivera library has the largest comic book collection in the world in the basement. UCR is the biggest UC sq mile wise bigger than UCLA counting the farm/ research areas. UCR is like an UCLA extension, because it was originally an expansion of UCLA. That explains why some business and economics builds have the same hall, library, or building names as UCLA buildings. I'm not sure if the program still excise, but when I was a frosh there was a direct transfer program to UCLA for the top UCR Bio-med students. I'm not trying to give add creditability. I think far too many people look pasted UCR. Remember to be accept in a UC you were in the top 30% of all applicants. So Congrats UCR students and stop bitchin! If you study hard you too can improve UCR's rep. We had a champion division 2 football team once upon a time, but now have track and field remaining in its spot. The Men's bball team sucks and the Women's barely make it to the NCAA tournament. Electrical Engineering won the IEEE competition a few years ago beating schools such as CAL TECH and MIT. Suck it other UC's!

What is there to do in Riverside? Good question. If you have a gambling problem or clubbin' addiction there are plenty of Indian Casino's within driving distance. Only about 3 hours from Las Vegas, depending how fast you drive. So if you are like me and you have need to go to "work". Make a donation at a local Indian casino. Poker players you're in luck you can go on the "poker circuit": North, my favorite, San Manuel (20 mins away), east Morongo (age 18 & over, 45 mins), South Pechanga (1 hr) and West Commerce Casino (1 hr).

I won't get in to the partying and the social life, because that's not what our poor parents pay thousands of dollars for every year.. Everyone is pretty friendly and do not have something stuck up their *censored*. Give it a visit. Love it or Hate RIVERSIDE Represent!

*sidenote* UCR bomb!
Living in Riverside (non-student) BLAH!

Just graduated and the education here is TOP NOTCH. I majored in Studio Art, however, my main focus was in graphic design. I had an opportunity to intern with NASA for two years for Scientific Visualization. The best opportunity of my life! I got to study with some amazing mentors at Caltech and JPL last summer. This wouldn t have been possible if I had gone to a traditional art school. Thank you so much to my amazing professors who had supported me along the way! I highly recommend this school! The opportunities found here can t be beat!

Very diverse campus ! Many cute 'hole in the wall' locations with delicious food very close to campus. There is a police station on the corner but a lot of the times they do not find the suspects.

Big, high quality university that is part of the University of California system. I've had my sister and daughter graduate from this school and both of them enjoyed their time there. It is an expensive school, unless you get a scholarship. All the campus amenities are available to students. Nice large campus that is enjoyable to walk around. The neighborhood is not so great once you leave the campus, but it still has a lot of businesses, restaurants, gas stations and hotels. Great school for your kid.

UCR Extension Center is one of the place you can earn essential job skills that you can't find anywhere else. They've lots of courses to choose. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I did it myself and making decent money.

My husband is a student here and we live in family housing. So I just love to walk around the UC there are plenty of places with sidewalks so it's easy and safe with my kids. I enjoy all the trees and shady places. There are so many spots to relax, read enjoy a coffee or just to stroll.

The police officers at UCR are awesome. A few weeks ago I went to UCR for a Stussy clothing sale. The sale was awesome and I was there about an hour and a half. UCR is gigantic and I didn't pay attention to where I parked. A dear friend and brother Arnoldo Tejeda drove me around for almost two hours looking for my car to no avail. I finally stopped in the UCR Police Department Station and ask for help. I was nervous, panicking and worn out. Officer Jim Bowen was so kind and understanding. I couldn't have asked for more. In a short time he found where my car was parked. Officer Bowen was genuine in that he cared I would like to thank Officer Bowen and the UCR Police Department for their assistance and dedication.

It s an okay school with horrible parking for students! They don t care about students when it comes to parking and have so many other priorities! They make a HUGE FORTUNE off of giving students so many citations for wanting to park to go to class (where they pay thousands of dollars for tuition already) and still get cited! This school if not all UCs are not education friendly but rather a HUGE BUSINESS MONEY HUNGRY CORPORATION!! Don t go here!!! It s two stars because at least I got a few amazing memories with friendships!
