UCC Students’ Union is the primary representative body for students at University College Cork. The union is dedicated to supporting and advocating for students, ensuring that they have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed academically, socially, and professionally.
At UCC Students’ Union, we believe that every student deserves a voice. We work tirelessly to ensure that our members are heard and represented in all aspects of university life. From academic policies to social events, we strive to make sure that our members' needs are met.
Our mission is simple: To empower students by providing them with the tools they need to succeed. We do this by offering a wide range of services and support programs designed specifically for UCC students.
One of our primary goals is to provide academic support services that help students achieve their full potential. Our team of experienced advisors offers one-on-one tutoring sessions, study groups, and workshops on topics such as time management, note-taking strategies, exam preparation techniques, and more.
We also offer a variety of social events throughout the year designed to help students connect with each other outside of the classroom. These events include everything from movie nights and game tournaments to charity fundraisers and cultural celebrations.
In addition to these services, UCC Students’ Union also advocates on behalf of its members at both local and national levels. We work closely with university administrators as well as government officials on issues such as tuition fees, student housing affordability concerns or mental health support initiatives.
Our advocacy efforts have resulted in significant changes over the years including increased funding for student scholarships; improved campus safety measures; better accessibilities accommodations; more affordable housing options near campus; expanded mental health resources available through counseling centers across Ireland's universities system among others initiatives aimed at improving student welfare nationwide!
