I have been taking classes at the training center for a few months now and it has been a transformative experience. I have grown so much as an improviser and would highly recommend this center to anyone looking to improve their skills.
Sexist culture that is still somehow overly sensitive. Counselor hides behind policy and the director is flat out incompetent. There are paywalls like being forced to buy a useless and unused book in order to pass the class and the book is not allowed to be sold by outside properties. Is a hostile atmosphere. Main intent is simply to get people in the classes to make money and not actually nurture comedy or art. The antithesis of creativity and everything that is wrong with bureaucracies and capitalism. Given the climate, it is not a surprise why they are under fire for sexual assault claims and their lack of interest in a student's experience or well-being.
I've completed two classes in the sketch program and love it. The teachers are supportive while always pushing you to up the level of your work. My classmates in both courses were serious about the craft and really engaged in the class, which made it more fun. The facility is wheelchair accessible and there's a wheelchair accessible bathroom through the production space.
Superb experience! Instructors are attentive and hilarious! The training is priceless.
