Tried to see a loved on at end stages, and the staff was very rude. They treat you like your family doesn't matter. I hope to never have to come here again!

Straight awfulI have a serious emergency and I sit in a waiting room for 9 hoursStill did not get seenI just walked outI try my luck with another hospital
Stayed for 15 days the staff is amazing. My doctors and surgeons were the best. Glad I had the chance to be kept in good hands.
Could never brag enough about staff, nurses, respiratory, Residents, Doctors and RESOURCES! I am a nurse that has worked Critical Care and Emergent care in an Acute Care Facility hours away. My father had a massive Subarachnoid hemorrhage after an aneurysm burst. He was evaluated at our home facility and flew to UAB for emergent care. He spent 21+ days in NICU, days in step down, and then went to Spain Rehab. After a craniotomy, multiple multiple coiling done by the best Physician ever, Dr. Lee, my father has NO deficits and is going great! The good Lord knew this was the facility he needed to go to. I cannot say how thankful we are for UAB and their staff. The extensive critical care treatment my Dad received is phenomenal, and truly a blessing.
UAB Hospital surgery admitting is so unorganized. 7th floor surgery is the same.
I have been completely satisfied with this facility and staff. Everyone is kind and helpful. That is so important when a patient like me is afraid of what is to come in their health situation. When I called to correct an error I made in my address, the office lady was wonderful. And, I love my doctor.
It s COVID and no one is disinfecting the chairs or counter is very nasty here. the staff sits around and talks more than help people
My mother-in-law is in this hospital. Most of the nurses have been very nice. We had one that had a bad attitude problem. Hospital only allows 2 people to check in to see a patient in a 24 hour period (the same 2 during this time period - no swat in and out, which makes it difficultt to get an elderly family member in for a short visit). Also, plan to clean a table in the food court if you eat in there. It's very dirty. Public bathrooms are not clean as they should be. Holiday inn Express in Homewood where we stayed was cleaner than UAB Hospital.
But, don't forget your mask.
The nurses at the trauma center are incompetent! I was there 2 nights and2 days. I DID NOT get my regular medication either morning. When i asked for something to eat when i was in the er 3 different times i was ignored. When i asked for a cup of coffee onmy last day there i was told oh you dint want coffee until you get your breakfast. I said i want a cup NOW! This is the hospital only. Places like kieklin clinic are awesome! I willNEVER go to the hospital again!!
We got here for a scheduled operation at 5:30 am. Finally went into surgery at 4:00 pm all day she had nothing to eat,no pain meds. Here it is 6:31 pm don't know if she will get a room or not.
