The website is a little confusing, and seems to randomly change, with links sometimes not working. Despite this annoyance, once you are able to make an appointment and you show up (even a little bit late) ;) -- the staff are fluent in Spanish / Espanol as well as English, very intelligent, polite, and helpful. If you have any difficulty making an appointment online, it may be best to call by phone for assistance. I had lost my passport & all other I.D. except for old drivers license, and despite my not following all the online directions for getting a new passport, once I had an appointment and showed up at the embassy, the whole process was surpisingly smooth and quick. My new passport arrived in only 8 days.

My experience in this place was very good, the staff very friendly and the security very strict. If you are going to carry out any procedure here, do not bring electronic devices and if they take them well you can leave them in the control room. The place has a waiting room and a screen where images of the tourist attractions of the United States are shown, this room is usually very cold, so, be warm. I recommend you to be very respectful with the staff; this place has hygienic services and access to wheelchairs.

The consulate people are very kind and serious. I have seen agents use said Ecuadorians which shows appreciation for our culture. Even complicated processes are done with a spirit of help. They are very serious and efficient people, so comply with all its rules. Thank you for your great spirit of cooperation.

I am appalled at the way that this Embassy operates, and embarrassed that this is how my country is represented abroad. They are blatantly discriminatory against Indigenous Ecuadorians. It does not matter how much evidence you have of anything. Unless you look at least half-white and have a bank account equal to that of a middle class person in the US, you're not given even a cursory glance or 1 minute's time, let alone admittance to the country. This is the reason why so many people risk their lives and try to get into the States illegally. How unbelievably ill conceived.

We met him on the basis of a technical work, which we carried out for the Embassy in Quito. It is already several years old, but it is a practical complex with good access from any point of the city.
