If you don t live on base you can t play golf on the public course here during Covid. No warning of this whatsoever and wasted a 2 hr round trip for nothing.

I used to live in Hunter a very long time ago and it was one of the best places I ve ever been.
I miss it so much.
WE WERE ON THE VERY EDGE OF THE FIELD ....WE WERE STAYING IN A HOLIDAY INN as WE Were going to Tour greater SAVANNAHs' HISTORIC DISTRICT for a Few Days . ( yes. I was an Avionics AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN IN THE U.S. AIR FORCE . ) SO ANYTIME I AM AROUND MILITARY AIRCRAFT I really Gravitate to the Aircraft & their LAUNCHES !!
1980-1982 I enjoyed my stay hope to visit 84th transportation this was my last assignment
Stationed at Hunter AAF from 1969-1970 when Hunter was both Army and Air Force. We also trained South Vietnamese pilots to fly Huey's and Cobras at Hunter. Loved the base and the area back then. Couldn't have asked for a better assignment.
Had to renew my expired residence pass at the main gate and have been through this process at least 4x since covid. There s always a ton of ppl waiting and like ONE security officer issuing passes. I got here at 11:20a, it is now Noon and I still don t have my pass. 9 ppl waiting this is sad. And security is nvr in a good mood when I m here. We def feel their frustrations.
I was stationed here and I loved every minute of it made a lot of friends. A lot of great people there
I was stationed here from the mid 80's to the early 90's, I absolutely love the place, I love Savannah, I love the surrounding areas, the people and the FOOD! Sure wish I could do it again, I have met some of the greatest people while stationed there. Now, many moons later all I can do is visit and reminisce with the find memories!
Stationed at Hunter AAF during 1981. Great duty environment .
