The most amazing air museum that I've ever been to...
The most amazing air museum that I've ever been to. They have every plane imaginable, including a B1 & B2.
The most amazing air museum that I've ever been to. They have every plane imaginable, including a B1 & B2.
Fantastic, this is such an incredible display of man's desire to to reach the sky for good and for deterrence. Unfortunately our trip was truncated due to a total base power failure, however what we did see was awesome and we intend to come back to see what we missed. This place is full of eye candy and stirs the emotion & memories of veterans from which ever era they served. This is a whole family attraction as everyone will be looking about as every part is full of air history, you'll gape at the wild and incredible diversity of machines that flew for our country. Even if you're not an air enthusiast, you'll enjoy this special museum. Especially since it is free, volunteers make this one great bargain to look at air history close up.
One of the greatest aviation museums in the world, many amazing and one-of-a-kind planes. The legendary Memphis Belle is a highlight. It's military-only so it won't please civil aviation fans, though the Presidential fleet is modified airliners. Wear comfy shoes--it's huge.
Wonderful museum, aircraft are in stellar condition. Daily tours, etc.
Im a disabled Veteran and they made me feel really welcome there. They also gave me an electronic cart and even made my service Dog ( a small pug ) welcomed. Which set beside me on the cart all day.id sujest that if you're any type of intusest on Planes or millatarry history this is the place to go.
Lots of rare historic air and space craft. A full day is not enough.
Rivals the Air & Space museum in Washington DC. Just an incredible and well displayed collection of aircraft.
Great place to visit for my Canadian family in town. Thank you!
Fantastic museum! I go every time I am back in Ohio
Simply awesome great, family oriented and educational
390 aircraft will keep you busy for a couple of days.
This is a great collection of historical aircraft. There are great exhibits here and several crafts that should be available to the public. They do great work in keeping the crafts in good shape. A+
Great history, fantastic collection, free parking and admission!
Something for everyone, a treasury of history and information
Wonderful place to learn about the USAF and also the history of flight. The historic aircraft are meticulously restored to pristine condition. You can spend hours here looking at it all.
It's huge. There is so much to see and do. Make certain you give yourself plenty of time. You'll love it.
Love the place. If you are interested in history or aviation at all, this is a must see. It's free admission and you can't possibly see it all in one day. Been 3 times and I still haven't read every story with each display.
Unique museum of US airforce aircrafts at Dayton, Ohio. Aircrafts on display include F-22, F-16, B-2 bomber, Night hawk, Airforce ones and many many more. Also on display are Wright brothers early aircraft, World war -1 and -2 vintages. A must see for aircraft lovets
Unbelievably fascinating and a very well displayed museum. We spent many hours here and the way everything is set up is so well done. The history of many of the aircraft here and the restoration many of them no doubt went through is remarkable. There is so much to see, so much to learn and definitely a day trip. The highlight for me was Air Force One!
The new wing was worth the trip with the president of planes now there
Always an awesome place to take the family. Walking around in the ac getting in your steps and seeing some awesome aircraft as well as learning the history behind them. I remember going as a kid myself and had fun, and now as a father of 3, having my kids excited about going and wanting to see the planes is great to see. Especially during this time, hard to find safe things to do with the family, but this place being open is a great thing to do with the kids.
It was a wonderful place to visit and see all of the different planes from all ages and wars. Will definitely go again.
I visited this museum in 2014 & the number of exhibits was more. Now it has been reduced quite a bit. Wspexially Presidential Aircrafts remained very less now.
Had an amazing time, great place to take the kids and family
Free admission and absolutely incredible collection of aircraft from the early days of flight to the F-22 and beyond. You need to have a full day to see the whole place especially if you're one to stop and read each placard. This was my 4th trip to the museum and it's better every time.
Very interesting place to visit. Organized from WW1 to Current. You can see lot of real planes including Air Force One
This place is huge. We have a limited amount of time so we went to only two exhibits out of about 5. We went to the World War II and the southeast Asia which included Korea and Vietnam era. There were a whole bunch of other huge halls but I was not that interested in the history of flight and the new world more modern stuff including space.
We saw the IMAX theater show of the day. It was excellent.
The Museum Store is pretty big and there's a lot of stuff there. Airplane nuts will truly enjoy what they have to offer.
Lots of history, great information, and free entrance. You seriously cannot beat the experience!!!
Where is it,i like old vintage crop duster airplanes.
This was a very moving experience, especially the Memphis Belle. A beautifully done tribute to our nation's sacrifices. A large nod to the extent of technology and science. Just wonderful. Bring comfy shoes!
Best place to visit if you love airplanes. Its.free to the public. Best part is going inside the the presidential planes.
Awesome, was surprised at how big and how informative it was. Went to see the Memphis Belle, but presidential planes turned out to be our favorite.
Hundreds of aircraft including the B 52D super aircraft
We had our Wheelus Air Base 1st.reunion at Dayton, and visit the museum and the Air Show.
We all enjoyed the museum but didn't have enough time do to our schedule and many didn't get to see
all of it.So next visit I will attend on my schedule. As being ex Air Force personnel we really enjoyed
our visit.
Enjoy your visit.

A fantastic free museum, visited from the UK, nothing like this over in the UK. Highlights for me were Kennedy's Air Force One and Memphis Belle. Being able to walk on some aircraft was also a highlight, wish they had a few more helicopters on display.
Incredible amount of history and technology here. An amazing place. You really need more than a day to take it in. If you only have one day, get there early!
I was very very impressive with all of the plane's and the way its lay out
It was amazing! A huge tour. Eat before you go, cause it takes a long time to get through. It's a lot of walking.
I was impressed by how much they had and my fav part was at the end when you can go inside many of the aircrafts.
I definitely recommend going. I brought my 4 yr old and 2 yr old and they loved it!
Incredible, I definitely recommend people of every age to see there!
Incredibly diverse plane and rocket selection to observe. The only downside is it takes 2 days to experience the museum minimum although 3 days is far more preferable. This museum has been placed strategically at the point of the first flight by the Wright brothers and done with dignity and respect. The tour guides range from veterans from Vietnam to local historians with extreme knowledge bases to answer any and all questions about the sections that the are responsible for. Great for tourists and families alike.
Man, I could go on about this museum for hours. I've been to dozens of aircraft museums and this one is by far the biggest with the most interesting aircraft. The free admission is just a bonus. Aircraft featured range from Wright Flyer replicas, aircraft both world wars (and both sides!), Vietnam, Korea, and up to today. Amazing walk through the history of military aviation that you really can't see anywhere else.
When you're only remotely interested in aircrafts this is the place to go. It's free, too. 4 Hangars full of interesting planes, helicopters and information about all of them and their history. In order to experience the whole museum and everything in it you need more than a day. Pack good and comfortable shoes because you will walk a while. Unfortunately you can't bring any food or drinks into the museum but they have a nice small restaurant in the upper level.
In the presidential hangar you can walk through the Air Force One and a few other planes and be able to see what it looks like inside of them. Pretty interesting.
The museum and everything inside it (incl. restrooms and the restaurant) are clean and look nice.
On my next visit this will be a must-do again
Amazing collection of historic airplanes. Love the way you can track the evolution of military aircraft
Great experience for young and old. Need a full day to take it all in. Will definitely make you proud of America
always a excellent time with the whole family. set aside several hours and wear comfortable shoes. great descriptive exhibits, extremely friendly and very clean and cared for. many hands on projects for kids, also excellent kids zone
I cannot visit Dayton, Ohio without a visit to the Airforce museum. Adimmission is free. Free electric carts for the physically challenged. Itry yo get to visit here at least once a year.
Very informative. Lot's of planes, weapons & info on some wars.
The new hangar with the Presidential displays are magnificent. Also check out the Betty Jo Twin Mustang.
Amazing facility, too much to see in one day. The only downside was that the lighting was a little low in some areas, making it hard to read the information.
Great place for families and out of town guests. Get there early and go to building 4 first.
Museum and parking are free to the public at all times. Museum has so much to see that it's hard to do it all in one day. Don't forget to check out the NASA items. Fantastic stuff!
This museum is one of the best air force museums I ve visited. It showcases several air force one s that belonged to different US presidents, WWI, WWII, blackbird, B-2 Stealth aircraft, and several other interesting exhibits.
Whether you are an aviation buff, history/military buff or just in town, this is a great museum. This was our 4th visit, from out of town. Lots to see and do. Each section of the museum is dedicated to a particular time period. Tons of great information in front of each exhibit. You could spend all day+ or if you are just looking, a couple of hours. For the young and venturesome they have a few simulators, which cost extra. They have a couple food courts and a theater. Decently priced. The museum has indoor and outdoor things to look at, and picnic shelters for nice days. Fairly nice gift store located at the entrance. Security is present at the entrance so don't bring your pocketknives or other metal objects. I tend to forget and have to run back to the car, lol. All in all this is a great museum. We drive in once a year and well worth the trip. Museum is free as is the parking.
The entry was free of cost, you get to see life sized world war I and II fighter planes. Plus the obvious early models of wright brothers developments on airplane prototypes. It is so huge, has more than 6 hangers. Must visit as is said to be one of the best of the US.
Great place to get a view of history. The volunteers are great and have a wealth of knowledge.
Very cool place. Free admission and parking. Scooters available for free. You can spend hours in there walking around
The Presidential planes you can go through are great
Great place to spend a day and it doesn't cost a dime to get in. Cafeteria cost and food wasn't that bad either. I'm going to have to come back without the five young grandkids so I can spend more time there.
Also the Memorial Park adjacent to the Air Force Museum has several pavalions available for picnics.
Would recommend getting there right when they open @ 9:00. By 1 pm it's getting packed.
Great museum. I would suggest taking the guided tours. FREE and open most everyday.
Great museum. Plan to stay for at least four hours.
Was amazing. So much to see. Exhibits were phenomenal. Currently has the Memphis Belle on display.
