Great volunteer staff.. very knowledgable. We went on a great tour that was absolutely free, as is most everything here. This is just an astounding collection of military aircraft, spacecraft, and historic memorabilia. This place is huge and among the newest additions are every Air Force One plane ever in service excepting those in current use. Amazing that general admission has remained free to the public for as long as I can remember.

This is the best airplane museum I have ever been to... and it's free! Give yourselves plenty of time to see this place. In my opinion you need 3 to 4 hours to properly see all the airplanes. You could rush through it in 2. My apologies for the poor lighting on my camera. It's a bit dark in there. Plan on doing a lot of walking as well.

Really great place to go. The best space exhibit i have ever seen inside a building. When you walk into the larger hangers you head spins with the size of the planes and UAV's im the building. Best to go during the week to avoid the crowds and a quieter time.

Absolutely epic! You will see one of a kind planes, including the fastest jet ever built. They also have two Lockheed SR-71 blackbirds! They already sold me on one, two is just rediculous.

Definately a must see if you're even a little into aviation. A comprehensive collection of military aviation, from the early ages to the modern age. You can also see on display former Air Force One airplanes, not only you can see them, but you can take a walk inside.

One great museum! From the beginning of flight to space flight. There are multiple hangars full of planes. There are more planes here then you could imagine. You can sit in cockpits or walk through air Force one. There are two cafes you can eat at although they are a little pricey. Then again admission is free to get into the museum. They also have a nice gift shop. Great museum!

Amazing collection of the famous, along with some rare, aircraft from the first days to today.

There are four VERY large buildings, capable of displaying the largest of planes. Each building holds various craft from different eras, including the early years of flight, to the world wars, conflicts, and modern day. You'll find vast collections of the stories surrounding the men, women and equipment that made history.

There are tour guides available, as we as self-guided tours. You have the opportunity to walk inside several types of craft, plus see various videos of actual events.

Longer movies and simulation rides are available for a nominal charge. But otherwise, admission is free to the public.

You can easily spent the whole day here and still not see everything. Friendly curators will help if you are looking for anything specific.

Penny-press aficionados, there are at least 3 hand-crank machines in the gift shop with 4 individual styles per each.

This place is a MUST SEE!!!

This place is a MUST SEE!!!

So much to see and do. Plan to spend the entire day, it's big and is a lot of walking but you won't want to miss any of it. I suggest starting with the 4th building (all the way in the back and work your way forward) there are lots of planes that you can walk through including a number of the presidential aircraft the space shuttle trainer (it's a full size model of the space shuttle which you can walk through which gives you a much better appreciation for it's massive size).

There is food onsite, it's a little pricy but if you're visiting in the warmer months, there's lots of outdoor space for a picnic.

If you aren't up for all that walking they have wheelchairs and scooters for those that need them. If you need a break they also have very neat movies in their theatre.

Every couple of years I try to make it here, due to growing up loving space exploration and being in AFJROTC for 2 years. It has ruined me from other air museums. It's free and has a great collection, so what's not to love?

World's largest collection, and history, of aviation in the world. About 1 million square feet under roof beginning with the pioneers of aviation from every country though the development of powered flight to every major event in history where flight was involved. This one location housed at Wright Patterson Air Force base on the eastern fringe of Dayton Ohio is a must see for anyone who has ever looked up in the sky and seen man flying .....

A little irritating that they don't let you bring outside drinks in. I had to argue with them over my 2 year old niece's sippy cup. Other than that, this is a really cool place with a lot of interesting historical planes. It is super educational and a fantastic place to take kids.

This is an exceptional collection of aviation history in fact it was far more impressive that the Smithsonian air and space in the capital plaza in DC. They recently added the Memphis Belle and it is in good company with scores of one of kind iconic aircraft along with a large collection of incredible experimental craft. The size of the exhibits are truly impressive and well organized. I would set aside a couple of days if you want to see to do it justice. I will be back again as they continue to add to the collection. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing! So many cool and rare aircraft everywhere! If you want to see everything, you'll need more than one day. My wife and I spent a total of about 12 hours in the museum over two days, and saw almost all the aircraft on display indoors. We didn't even get to the outdoor section, and barely had time to glance at all the interesting pieces of support equipment, uniforms, historical artifacts, etc. We're definitely planning to go back!

It's a wonderful place to learn about planes, history, and spacecrafts. Best of all, it's free! It can get a little crowded, but if you are a fan of airplanes, you won't be disappointed. It also has many guided tours, school programs, and more!

It's Free! If you love airplanes and history this is the place for you. It has a couple places to eat inside , also some flight simulators that cost around $10, and awesome gift shop and a 3D movie theater that also cost extra but it is literally 4 huge airplane hangers crammed with awesomeness.
