Tweetsie is a great place for young kids and families. We purchased season tickets after our first visit with no regrets. My son loves the train, while my daughter loves the animals and shows. It's a kitchy, old-fashioned good time family theme park and we love it.

Wonderful time with our 2 year old. She loved everything about Tweetsie. You can bring the stroller which I recommend for toddlers as their legs get tired. Staff was wonderful always smiling and happy to help. Food, drink, and gift shops are well worth it. You will pay a bit extra, but that's expected. My husband and I have been going since we were kids and we will keep the tradition going. Thank you for a great time in a safe kid friendly environment. See you at christmas!!

My family and I have so many wonderful memories of this place. My grandparents took me here every year as a child and I only recently got the opportunity to return and it hasn't lost its charm in the smallest way! The staff has always been friendly, courteous, and willing to help! The cowboys and cast members make the old western atmosphere come straight to life!

Pros: very clean, beautiful scenery

Pros: very clean, beautiful scenery

Cons: overpriced ($160 for a fam of 4), in reality this park is best geared for kids 5 and under, once you enter the overpriced park, approx 70% of the attractions behind the gate are an additional fee (retail shops, eateries, gem mining, face painting, etc). What the $160 actually got us was a ride up a chair lift, one 3-mile trip in a coal locomotive with a couple of third-rate acting vignettes that were barely audible, a handful of rides that seemed transported from a small town kiddie fair, sifting sand in Tupperware bowls for tiny flecks of fools gold, and attendance at some chintzy 10 minute shows that my 9-year old and his friends could have performed more entertainingly. In short, don t waste your money.

DOES NOT HONOR PROMOTIONS! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR GROUPS! Called for group rate pricing in May, and was mislead. Lady I spoke with said there had to be 15 paying people to receive group rate. When we showed up with over 30 for our Cub Scout Pack, they would not honor it and said we had to make reservations in advance, but is not what lady told me on the phone. So we tried to reason with the lady at ticket office, and she was like it was our problem not theirs. Plus in the past year, they have increased their in park concessions by over 25%. They now want $9 for a kids meal. Tweetsie is now way more expensive than Carowinds!

Hasn't lost it's charm in all the years I've been going.. 30 something years.

Very well maintained, clean and extremely friendly staff. At this time of year they have -Real- hot chocolate, like the stuff served on the Polar Express (movie), made in small batches and the -Real- apple cider (hot) is delicious as well. Food is also available at Tweetsie. They make fudge here too, it's so good!

We did The Ghost Train this year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole place was themed with decorations, lights galore, smoke machines, costumed staff, lots of activities and attractions... Just awesome.

The Ghost Train entering the "town" is absolutely one of the coolest things I've ever seen. This is a real, coal powered steam engine decked out like it just rose from the grave, crew and all. I felt like I was at a rock concerts grand opening, like a little kid that gets all giddy and goofy, I literally got chills and made it a point to be at that spot a few more times just to see it come around the corner again! My son and I talked about it all night afterward; sorry dear...(for my wife, we drove her nuts watching videos we took and making our own Ghost Train sounds late into the night) we just really liked it!

My 10 year old loved the train ride and I would say he was just about the right age for the scare factor on it. There is a haunted "forest" walk (not really in the woods, just themed as such) and it was pretty good, I admit I was relieved when my son wanted to take one of the early exits as it was a little much for him and one of the "monsters" was kind enough to point us in the right direction. We didn't do the haunted house which I heard was much scarier than the haunted forest.

The carnival rides here are included with your train ticket are a lot of fun. Give yourself at least 3 hours to enjoy as much of this wonderful place as possible.

We will be back! Thanks to everyone at Tweetsie Railroad!

We took our children to Tweetsie Railroad for Day Out With Thomas and everyone had an amazing time! We came into the park after 3, so we were able to get in the next day on the same ticket, which gave us lots of time to check out all of the rides and attractions! I love how you can get up close and take pictures with Thomas the train! Even though the website said we could only ride the train once, the employees told me that if it wasn't crowded, we could ride again. So, we road the train three times! There were lots of different Thomas the Train activities to do, as well!

This place was very nice. Geared to younger kids mostly. Pack your own drinks and food, their prices are outrageous! A large soda and kid size drink $11.00. Other than that the staff is friendly and the place is clean.

We have been taking our son, who is now 5, every year since he turned 2 and absolutely LOVE IT! We always go during the special event days such as Day out with Thomas or Ninja Turtles! The staff is always so friendly!!!!! Can't wait to go this Sunday!

The rides are for younger kids, & the lines are never too long. It's perfect for families!

Wonderful place for family fun. Not sure teens would be as impressed, (no extreme thrill rides or high tech adventures) but the 12 & under group absolutely LOVE it. Considering how old this park actually is, owner's have done a fantastic job keeping it updated and in perfect repair.
Lots if fun to keep you busy for the day. Built on a mountain side so be sure to wear comfy shoes! Manual wheel chairs and strollers are available, a bit difficult to push at times due to the steep inclines.

The Tweetsie Railroad is an amusement park for tourists and rail buffs alike. With 2 operational steam locomotives and several other rides and places, this is truly a great place to spend a day of fun at. I gave this 4 stars, because I think that the park should lower its admission prices.

Definitely better for little kids, up to 5th grade, in terms of the entertainment and lack of anything scary. The ghost train was more entertaining to watch drive by than it was to ride. We didn't want to stay and won't be going again.

I love Tweetie. Few memories l have when mama took up before she died. We didn't go all time. Just when mama knew Fred Kirby was going be there. I'm red headed. He loved red heads. He always try get Indians cut off my pig tails when we took ride on train. I didnt go hardly after turning 12. Without mama it wasn't the same until l had my own child Took her when she was 4 first time. Fred made the train ride 110% better.

Great family fun! We have been visiting each year since our first child was born and it never seems to get old. Tweetsie is what an amusement park was prior to "mega parks". Tweetsie is a must experience!

I have been taking kids and grandkids to tweetsie for years, today's visit was disappointing. Two of my grandsons favorite rides were not working and he was upset, normally I would rate tweetsie four stars.
