Not what I would call an experience, table took forever after many promises. Eventually we were seated and the starter of carpaccio was excellent. Risotto was over cooked and bland. Decent bottle of very over priced Ch-du-Pape. Would not return.
Tuttons pretty much seems like a restaurant which has given up. The location and venue is such that they don't really have to try, so they aren't. The food is like a glorified Wetherspoons.
It's a staggering rip-off. Our waiter was lovely but overall a really poor restaurant experience, I feel for the tourists tricked into eating here by the grandeur of the interior. Never again.
I should add for fairness that they gave us the wine for free due to the lateness of my main, but that doesn't excuse the terrible food.
I went to Tuttons yesterday evening for an engagement dinner. It was the most disappointing and regrettable experience I have ever had. I have been to a number of resturants, but this resturant by far is the worst. On top of being over priced, the food was terrible, portion sizes were tiny and the service was dull.
I ordered the scallops for my starter they were very bland, I had the sea bass fillet for my main which was also tasteless and wet and for dessert I had the cheesecake. This was the most disappointing and really showed the little amount of effort they had put into the food altogether. It was literally a lump of cream cheese and a quarter of a digestive biscuit sprinkled around the sides with raspberry sauce. It honestly looked like it had been thrown together in a minute.
Lastly, when it came to paying the bill, I had a query in which I was told by one of the staff that she didn t want to go up and down the stairs because it would kill her legs that topped everything off for me, extremely rude. As someone who is there to serve, your job is to make sure that the customers feel happy and satisfied. I didn t finish any of the food and I am highly upset to have paid that amount of money for food that looked and tasted like no effort had been put in.
I would not recommend this place at all.
Breakfast pancakes were dry, hard and tough like cardboard. I could hear tapping sounds upon slapping them against the plate (the fact that they didn t break is alarming for pancakes). Service was nice though. Still, arguably one of the worst breakfasts I ve had.

Nice place .. the tasty food, the watery drinks .. without taste..pure ice, the camare well, Not so your partner..who approached when we made the order..a bad mannered who mocks tourists who do not they pronounce the English language well. For this reason I do not recommend it, it is not

BAD BAD BAD BAD , i have been waiting in line for 3 hours and i ask for reservations before and they told me they don t such thing called reservation so I waited when my turn came they randomly pick someone from behind because he s important and he had a reservation. SERIOUSLY?? And the waiters were very rude with me and they started yelling because i told them this is my table. RESPECT ME. This is the bad service i have ever had from any restaurant. HATE IT

Service was so bad we ended up picking our drinks from the bar despite it being table service. This is an expensive pit stop and they have forgotten they are here for customers. We sat outside to keep within guidelines and it was all fine, food was good too. But you can't have chunky chips as a side dish only if they are part of a meal !? Why ?? You are cooking them anyway so why do I have to have skinny fries ?

We stopped for drinks this night and we had the most terrible experience. I had a plastic band in my Pimms, the waiters were ignoring us and the noise that they created while closing the open air sitting space was horrifying. Please, choose this place!
My first time at Tuttons and I will definitely visit the place again.
The atmosphere was very nice. The staff very friendly and helpful. I was invited for a Christmas dinner there. The dinner took place in one of the private rooms in the basement. The room was nicely decorated but a bit small.
The food was delicious. For starter I had the Oak smoked Scottish Salmon. Well cooked and big portion.
The main was Confit Duck leg. It exceeded my expectations! It was so appealing and tasteful. The best dish for me though it was the dessert. Blueberry and almond tart. It was amazing, delicate and rich at the same time. I would definitely go back to Tuttons for this dessert.
The wine I had was the
Ca di Ponti Catarratto, IGT Terre Siciliane . It was very fruity and approachable dry white wine with delicate taste.
Overall I had a pleasant experience and I would love to go again. Also I love the location as Covent garden is always a lively place to visit in the evening.

We were five people. It was cold...the waitress with long brown hair outside was rude. We were outiside and she didn't want us to put two tables together under the lights. So we were kicked again in the unlucky tables we were. We waited a lot... nobody came to take our orders... Awful staff, high prices. Terrible dinner- experience.
TUTTONS is living of its history , beautiful building with very average food , had better breakfast at my local cafe. Sausage and egg Sandwich x2 , bread was supermarket cut white loaf, tea for two and a glass of orange juice that was freshly squeezed in their defence....just a tad over 24 quid with a 12.5% service charge bringing it to near 30 quid expected decent bread at least...staff i could not fault just the food they were serving .

If you are having anxiety on where to grab a bite in Covent garden... this is the place to be. It is your safest bet. Staff is friendly, food was good... not great but we weren't disappointed or dissatisfied. Very busy at least when we went. Kinda on the pricey side.

Booked a table for dinner prior to the theatre. Opted for the pre-theatre menu on the grounds of expediency.
The service was pedestrian and despite having allocated two hours for the meal we found ourselves rushing to make the theatre before "curtain up". The lady serving us was pleasant enough but seemed to be rushing about trying to accommodate too many tables which we felt to be detrimental to our experience and service.
The food was okay, meeting gastro pub standards, and if we hadn't had a drink and coffee would have been reasonably priced for the area, however as observed by the diners on the neighbouring table, wine was priced at a bottle cost per glass.
Pretty good food. Went here when at covenant gardens to get out of the rain. When you ask for water, will bring bottled water not tap and add some kind of service charge to bill in lieu of tip? Which they will remove if you question it. Very nice service.
The large salad is very small.
For a pseudo brasserie it is very expensive compared to other restaurants which are much better

Had lunch with a friend and have been here many times , On this occasion I was disappointed as the food was almost cold, we only had salmon with vegetables and they were luke warm , i think it was left on the side and forgotten about as we waited 25 minutes for this plate - staff very nice and friendly as always but not as good as the last time I came .

Nice food, busy atmosphere, good ambience. Expensive drinks, but good service with friendly staff. However, and this is so disappointing, the ladies loo was not in an acceptable state. Very untidy with loo roll all over the floor and none of the handdryers were working, so nothing to dry your hands on. I reported it to a member of staff who already knew, but nothing was done all evening. Surely they could have taken some paper towels in there. Not acceptable at those prices.
