The kids enjoyed walking through the holiday lights. We were surprised at the penguin exhibit was not open

Great zoo. Really well organized and the animals look well fed and cared for.
It's a good place to come to for kids. They have alot of different animals to see. I'd reccomend.
This place has really cool animals. Family friendly. And lots of fun
It's a zoo it shouldnt cost that much but over All .... It's a nice place.
I really like going here it s very fun. I usually go here with my parents when we are bored
Went this weekend with my husband, my daughter and her boy friend... Was very clean ! I love all the rivers, and ponds, and waterfalls for the animals amazingly clean too!! All the animals looked very happy to live in this awesome zoo! Thank you
Appears to be well maintained and animals cared for. Courteous staff.
Getting the membership is worth the price if you re going to go there more than 3 times...and we do. It s a nice way to spend the day, then walk over to the playground across the reservoir or to McLoone s for a nice bite.
Really cute zoo. Alot bigger then I expected. Plenty to see. Little ones will enjoy.
Our kids love this place!! Especially the train rides and petting the stingrays.
I love the Turtle Back Zoo I bought a membership well worth the price we should all by one and support this great Zoo.
Nice place to visit. They do a Christmas lights with Santa that was very nice for a non mandatory donation. Very nice of the owners / company.
I think we're considered off season, but it's the best time to come! Very few people makes this so worth it. And for $12 a person, we spent two hours wondering around. Only two exhibits not open today: the giraffe (unknown why) and the alligator (too cold for it to be out). Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great place for the Family. Huge zoo. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a snack bag and plenty of fluids
We pay for the membership every year. Such a great place for families to go to. My favorite is getting to feed the giraffes. This zoo is kept really clean, which is great if you have little ones.
I love this zoo.. every year they are adding new animals... very affordable and good for the children and family, I love the pizza lol,
Its a beautiful zoo but you gonna be a big meal for bees
We had a great time at this zoo. I recommend it, we got to see lions, giraffes, and so many more great animals up close. I liked the seal show, the touch tank, and my daughter loved the the penguins. We also loved the train ride, you have to take the kids for a ride. The kids also loved the carousel as well. The parking lot was full, there was an alternate parking lot, but we and many others parked at the shuttered Chinese restaurant's parking lot across the street. (Not sure if that was legal, but very convenient, can a hundred people be wrong?)
Nice small zoo. You can visit the entire zoo in 3 to 4 hrs. Don't forget to ask zoo map at ticket counter.
Offers a free event for beautiful Holiday tree lights at nights in November and December.
We've been going with our kids since they were born. They are now 15 and 11 and we still get a membership. The zoo has made wonderful changes with new exhibits and open spaces.
Great place for a family outing.
Nice staff.
Clean
Exhibit are close together
Well it's pretty much the only zoo in New Jersey so .... It's what we have. The staff are idiots but it's well kept
We just got a family membership here and love it! We have four little ones and have been here a number of times now so it made sense for us. The zoo is beautifully maintained and has many animals. Our son is obsessed with coming here. He just loves the giraffes. You even get to feed them! For a small fee you are given lettuce leaves and can give them a nibble. They also have lions, bears, farm animals and much more! Kids can ride a pony or feed birds at a bird house for a few dollars. This is a wonderful place to spend the day with family.
Their Christmas light display was really delightful! Always have a great time here
Fabulous zoo. Seeing it grow has been amazing. Definitely recommend it over any other zoo.
First time visiting while we were on vacation and I'm really glad we did! What a nice little zoo. On a really hot day it has a few areas to cool down along with the train ride, which goes right past the giraffes! Perfect place for an afternoon.
Been here a few times now. Great family fun, and really any season that they are open. Not 5 star simply because the continue to at times have a bee issue. Their staff is great, the grounds are well maintained otherwise, and parking is never an issue.
Nice though I just went there because they hosting my brother's graduation, I didn't look at the animals.
Absolutely love this place. Have been here more than couple of dozen times with my lo.
It is small enough to cover in 3 hours with some interactive sessions for kids and kids play area is nice...
Not a big fan of restaurant as they lack selection of healthy soups aand salads but other than that we love this place
It worth going every time. My kids never get bored of visiting turtle back zoo. You always see something different and interest every time.
Nice zoo. Nice staff. Entrance tickets are priced to high though. Little toddlers pay the same price than adults --> expensive for families. Parking is free for visitors.
Love this relaxing little zoo, perfect for a weekend visit with kids. Got my family pass so I could visit more often!
Very nice atmosphere, however, many empty exhibits. We walked for 15 minutes without seeing an animal. I called for a refund and was informed that they do not do refunds. I would definitely go elsewhere where you will actually get what you paid for.
A wonderful experience for the whole family no matter the season. This not just a small town zoo, it is quite expansive with an impressive collection of a plethora of species and types. You can spend a full day here. Highly recommend for all ages
Love this place. Such a great experience for all ages!
Friendly staff, spacious enclosures for the animals. I'm not a huge fan of zoos, but if more zoos were like this one, I would be. The animals all seemed happy, clean, and well taken care of. This reflected in the staff as well, many employees we spoke to were genuinely cared about the animals and were very knowledgeable and kind.
Very nice zoo! My 3 year old daughters loved it and so did my 8 year old nephew, 12 year old and 15 year old nieces. Very nice variety and plenty of things for kids to climb on. Lol they have a free train ride and a Carousel Ride for only $2. :) look for times of when they feed the animals! Very fun! Definitely coming back again.
Varied exhibits. Staff everywhere to answers questions. Fair amount of places to sit and rest your soar feet. Great for kids of course.
Holiday lights were great (and free with food donation), the park was clean, and the park decorations are fun and kid friendly. The attractions are easy to access with varrying footpaths.
So much bigger than I thought. Tons of sitting places. Didnt eat at the restaurant but the food smelled AMAZING.
It's a relatively small zoo with great walkability as compared to the Bronx one, but it has a great range of animals from native cougars to lions and giraffes. I am glad that the penguins are in a relatively large indoors enclosure rather than as before when they were baking in the sun. The lions are together now (lionesses were separated from the male before) and seem comfortable and relaxed together. They seem to be adding more exhibits and from what I read are requesting additional money and space to expand further.
We went to the Christmas light show (which was free btw) great time kids enjoyed it ...new family tradition
Great animals and an amazing place to go with your family
Great zoo. Animals up close. Loved the chu chu ride
So family friendly. Relaxing and my son enjoyed every bit of it
beautifully improved over last 15 years. Small yet packed with great variety of animals.
Would like to see larger habitat for some of the animals like the eagles, but most animals look happy
Great dedicated staff! Massive variety of animals. Well designed.
My first time going but who doesn't love the zoo?! The facilities we're clean, animals were happy, weather was in the 90's so most we're resting and trying to stay cool, but I couldn't find fault with a single thing there! I can't wait to go back and see the few things we missed our first time!
they are very careful and have hand sanitizer throughout the park
Best day with my son ever he loved loved the train ride
Great little zoo that keeps getting bigger. Some of the prices for extra things are ridiculous, but overall a nice, fairly clean place. Always good to take the kids to.
Nice sunny day out for exploration. It's a shame some of the zoo animals are not around or are not ready to be seen. Miniature train ride was cool but their track trail was short (we were expecting it will roam around the zoo to see more animals). There were also many areas under construction. But overall out little ones were happy interacting and feeding the goats in thr barn area.
This is a wonderful zoo. The animals are well displayed in natural habitats and you can get up real close. Parking is plentiful and gaining entrance is easy. The staff is very helpful. and the pathways and landscaping are beautiful and well laid out.The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant where they serve lunch is overpriced and only serves the worst of junk cuisine... Hot dogs greasy chicken fingers or greasy burgers or tasteless grilled cheese.... There was not one healthy option offered
Good for Kid's. I personally felt it was Way too Crowded on a Sunday, and it was a Hot Day, and all the Animal's were laying down in the shade, under a Bush or a Tree and We couldn't see most of them. We could only see a Handful of the Creature's we tried to see, but couldn't see, because they were hiding.
my son and I really enjoyed this place everyone here was so pleasant and very knowledgeable! it is a big zoo with lots of things to see and very clean! amazing experience! I want to purchase a year pass!
Place are updating but still some areas close kids disappointed
It was a cute place to take the kids. My daughter, who was four at the time, had a blast. She especially loved the sting ray petting zoo and the penguins!
My son loves the train and the reptile area. The only real complaint i have is that the tanks could be keep way better the glass are really dirty.
Great place for the younger children but still fun to visit as adult. Was on school field trip.
This zoo improves more and more each year. My family gets the Yearly Membership. It is well worth it. The holiday lights are really nice to see, and also the Night Moves exhibit, where you visit in the evening.
Great place to visit any day. Very relaxing environment
We had a lot of fun at the zoo this past weekend. Went here for our 3 year old and he enjoyed it. The ones he enjoyed the most were the bird feeding and animal feeding areas and also the sting ray touch pool. The other animal pens were good although a number of the animals were missing or just not visible which is common in any zoo. Will definitely go back and look to give 5 stars
Beautiful and informational...Still adding more exhibits for the public.
Great zoo, they recall take care of the animals very well.
Some of the exhibits were closed. No warning on website
Turtle Back Zoo is such a great place to have a family time out especially if you've got little kids. Very refreshing and exciting to be there.
The zoo itself is clean and looks nice, but the exhibits are dissapointing to say the least.
Still under construction in some areas but overall very clean!
Great place my son loved it. It was hot and we were greartdul for the sprinklers and shaded area.
I loved this place! I would suggest going at the time of opening, around 10:00am, because they close at 4:30 and if you go in the afternoon like we did, you won't get to see all the different areas before closing time.
I would also suggest bringing your own stroller, because the rental ones didn't seem too comfortable and didn't have a shade on them. Also, keep in mind that you can't take the stroller inside some area, so be prepared to leave it outside some times.
Awesome little zoo with lots of interesting and unique animals
Good family day out. Lot of walking up and down hill.
Great zoo. Very well maintained and a good variety of animals.
It brought back memories from when I was a kid"" to be totally honest, the last time I was here was on a school trip.. a lot has changed since then. It's a lot bigger an better than I can remember. I'm glad I went again,,But I had the excitement level as I did when I was a kid..So I suggest everyone should come an revisit there youth lol. And it's still very educational regardless of your age.
Visited during the Christmas light show. Free entrance just donated coats and canned goods. Kids enjoyed the touch tank.
