We been here multiple times, and we had my granddaughters birthday part here. Awesome!
We been here multiple times, and we had my granddaughters birthday part here. Awesome!
Great place to go for your self and the kids love it
Perfect zoo for small children. I plan to bring my son back when he gets a little older
Awesome zoo! We are able to see many animals doing different activities. Lucky to see lovely moments between lion and lioness. And giraffes were doing like a ramp walk. Superb experience!
This zoo is really beautiful. I remember coming here on a field trip here ten years ago and not thinking it was anything special, but today they have made so many improvements it was one of the best times I've ever had at a zoo. The animal exhibits are incredible. They are clean, well kept, and kids really get to interact with the animals (touch tanks, feeding the birds, feeding the giraffes, ect.). I will definitely go back to this zoo.
Best zoo for young children and older adults that don't want to do a lot of walking. It's not to big not to small. Awesome train and seating areas to relax. A lot of things to do as well.
It a good zoo but it seems like they tried to put everything in it's own location but a lot of things were really close to each other and the food was decent
My son loves this place
Nice, clean and not packed at all even on weekends
Fantastic. ........loved every part of being there...you got the touch tank with the sting ray, $2 pony rides, sea lion show, and making smores... it was perfect
It was a great experience lots off parking. There was a new exhibits, and there prices are fare.
It's was great!! My granddaughters and me had a good time!! Thank you!!
Love it. Very kid friendly atmosphere. Very colorful. Not sure if the flamingos are supposed to be out in such a cold day today 4/27/19. I did not get a chance to walk around due to a birthday party event I attended. Did not like that the date of the birthday party could not be changed.
Nice upgrades/ renovations with new park, giraffes, big cats, and food court.
This is a very nice zoo however they have an insane bee problem.
If they did something about the bees this place would be 5 stars.
I really liked coming here to Turtle Back Zoo. I haven't been here in so many years so every time I pass here to go to my aunt house which is 5 minutes away,I see that Turtle Back Zoo had been doing so many changes and renovation. Really nice...
My girls and I love Turtle Back Zoo. The animals are beautiful and well taken care of.
Great place to spend time with Kids. Lots of variety of Animals and Birds.
Although we picked a hot day to go it alone as fun. And we all enjoyed ourselves. We will do it again...
I enjoy this Zoo but some exhibits get way too crowded. They should have more staff at the Big Cat Country as an example.
Also as of October 2020, they are renovating the eagles and otters.
Excellent animals. My toddler loves how easy she can spot animals. Simple and close parking.b
My 5yo son chose this as his birthday destination. It's a very small zoo, and rather boring. I wasn't too impressed, honestly.
My kids' favorite zoo. Lots of great animals and activities for the kids.
If you like to see animals in a quiet, calm environment, DO NOT come here! It's little more than a thinly disguised kiddie amusement park with a few animals as a diversion. Lots of loud music (boom, boom, boom!) and eateries. It sucks if you are an animal-loving adult.
Its a nice cool day not crowded did the tree top climb was fun kinda short but not bad zip line was cool was a fun short workout
Went early on Sunday with cold weather a breeze thru more employees then patrons. Nice train ride giraffe can't and didn't come out unless 50+ degrees. Nice layout and they have considerable reno jobs inside the park. I guess bigger and better a very clean environment!
Very good zoo for kids, clean and not much walking, and they have a lot of great animals
Zoo made a great effort to keep social distancing in effect. Timed entry (so book ahead of time), lots of hand sanitizer stations, and the train either had plexiglass shields between rows or the trains were run at half capacity to make sure there is space between riders.
Great place for family friends. Good for small children that want to see animals or go on the train
Amazingly clean and affordable day for the kids to enjoy themselves
First time here! Very impressed with the facility! Will be bringing our granddaughter back!
Went for the holiday light show. But overall a great family outing
The zoo has really upped it's game in recent years. The enclosures are far more appropriate for the animals. Gone is the sad little cafeteria, it has been replaced with an awesome two story safari themed building where you sit outside on an thatched roof patio and have a beer. There are two playgrounds and although you don't go there for this it is a nice respite for the kids. The family membership is well worth it as the zoo is open year round!
Excellent zoo, spacious and lets you get close to animals. Cooling down stations throughout the park, best zoo experience in the tri-state region
Very kids friendly. Has a lot of animals. Free train ride. Carousel, pony ride, birds and butterflies $2 each. Huge free parking.
Turtle Back Zoo a fun place to visit lots of things to do the Adventure Course and zipline also come one come all
This place is so great. They have a lot of different exhibit. The giraffes are a personal favorite. The train ride is also great.
Nice little zoo with a polite and courteous clientele and employees.
Jaguars, cheetah, leopard, red panda, crocodile. Bison, wolves, prairie dogs, farm animals, touch tank, bald eagle, etc.
When open walk into bird sanctuary filled with hundreds of parakeets that land on your feed stick ($1).
Free train ride through woods however lines can be over 45min long; carousel costs $2/ride; food vendors and gift store.
If you live within 45min and have small kids get the family annual pass. Makes for a nice day when you can go on the annual pass. They also allow you to bring in your own food/drink in the stroller or backpack.
Im loved is much different from pass , im glad is at north new jersey and is not far
The animals looked lethargic with the exception of the monkeys.Wasn't impressed.
It's a nice and just recently they added new things and animals. Staff are friendly.
I LOVE this zoo! Its clean and well-organized. The wait time on a busy day isn't even worth complaining about. Wish the prices were cheaper but nonetheless one of my favorite zoos to visit with my son.
This was a great place to visit. Entry price was reasonable and it was very clean. Whike it is not a huge zoo, I prefer to come here then to the Bronx Zoo.
Fantastic zoo! The exhibits are great with some unique species you don't see in some other nearby zoos (hyenas, Andean condors, etc). The zipline looks like a lot of fun. Already planning on returning for the ales and tails event next summer!
A great place to learn about our planet and they make it fun!
It's a great small zoo with a great variety of animals and several hands on attractions. Great for little little kids. Has stroller access. But it is hilly so be ready for some excercise
The Turtle Back Zoo is an amazing gem in New Jersey. I went for my first time this weekend, and I wasn t sure what to expect, but it was amazing.
The zoo is clean, there s a lot of different exhibits and animals to see, and there s many places to just sit and relax.
I had a wonderful time visiting and loved getting to see a wide variety of species, from big cats like lions, to cute little seahorses!
It s a must visit location for anyone of any age!
Only been to their light's festival that they do for the evening's during the Christmas season for the second year in a row the kids love it...even my never impressed 10 year old daughter that usually fiends everything boring! They have a really cool train ride with polar express music from the animated movie which was cool, the lights were very nice they also had a Disney princess theme with two women dressed as Disney princess posed for pictures with kids whicj my 7 year old loved and right next to them was a face painting display in the sting ray & Shark petting pool which is pretty awesome that the kid's & adults can't seem to get enough of! NOTE: The night event is Free it's a suggestion to donate canned goods for a food drive they have going on at the entrance so it's for a great cause!
My 3 year old first visit to the zoo she loved it we had a great time we will be back again in the Fall
Tiny cute zoo! Good for children but cafe food is expensive and not really good.
Love the Christmas light festival " Holiday Lights Spectacular" at Turtle Back Zoo-- free train rides and carousel rides for children. Dont forget to donate a coat, food items, and new toys! 50 winter and aminal characters 5pm-9 on free admission and parking! Great hot chocolate $3.00!
Fun day on a Sunday. Unfortunately it started to rain. We will be back!!!
Good day s outing with the family..infact I believe you might want to come here multiple times to enjoy everything that's here .we actually celebrated our toddler's birthday in one of the gazebo that the zoo offers for parties..it was perfect..
Oh mygoodness so many awesome changes!!! Become a member its so worth it!!
